The amazing photo you see above is from Icy's Mixed Media Art Shop! That crazy sister of mine has a high dose of, well... "I don't know what to call it" dilemma! She belongs to so many sites trying to make a living that I lost track, but this one caught my attention best.

However, she is a quiet and behind the scene soul, so I thought I would do the shameless advertising here for her; especially the circle of Thursday Two Questions is small and intimately share between just handfuls of bloggers. You can see her list of things in the gadget on the side bar.

I love listening to the sound of water from the sea, the lake, the river, falls, and obviously from man-made water fountain. The sound of water soothes me, relaxing me, and keeping me calmed!

This man made stacking clay pots was spotted at Home Depot. Oh yes, I lost track of why I was in the store and hung around this garden center of whimsical looking water fountains. Needless to say, I saw some amazing water fountains that I would love to create for my home.

Movie Theater

I don't remember when was the last time we go to the movie theater as a family or did we go at all since having a child? Things like this, entertainment, is so far away from my mind, and yet, when we drove by a crowded movie theater; we always said that we would one day.

There aren't too many movies that aim specifically for children that still kept the high morality and integrity as in the good old days. However, there are some that very highly entertaining to enjoy.

I don't know why we haven't take our son to see a movie yet, but coming into my mind are these questions below:

1) Is the cost of a movie ticket holding you back?

2) Do you put aside savings solely for entertainment purposes!

Pretty White Mums

This yellow heart caught my attention when I passed by it in the grocery store. It was just so dainty and beautiful.

As pretty as these mums look, they don't have a very good fragrance since my little boy took a little sniff and announced "they smell bad"! :-)

Get Back to Life

I should be setting up a post, but you know, I feel very droopy and that is because I am still on vacation mode. I don't want to do anything. Not even fulfilling my Etsy's orders! (But I did!)

Strange how a mind works when lacking routine and discipline! I procrastinate for a few days with the orders by taking my son to the stores and look for after Christmas sales. This is a good time to stock up on wrapping paper, name tags, lights, ornaments, and decorations.

We went home empty handed, and this was how I forced myself to sit down to get back into life. We can't stop living or carry out what must be done, so just join them.

My questions then, below:

1) Do you shop the sales after the Holidays for next year?

2) Do you find it difficult to get back into routines?

In Time Of Trouble

My heart was so much in pain watching on TV about the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary, and that I was totally in shock. Children, they were all children of my son's age! How in the world could someone just look at them and shoot them?

This news, reminded me of the 911 attack, where half of my mind knew that it happened, and the other half was in disbelieved! Nothing made sense! No reasoning, no excuse! I don't think the world went mad, but I have gone mad.

I remembered having questions after questions piling up inside of me and found no answers. Now, I am going to leave them here for you:

1) How should one respond to this kind of shock and calm down?

2) Do you find prayer helps in this situation where we only have faith left to hold on?

Pretty Hibiscus

This beautiful hibiscus was spotted at a home and garden center. I like this creamy yellow-orangish color as it is soft and pretty to the eyes to see. When all of our home improvements are done, I would very much like to have this in my yard.

Double Petals Hibiscus

Living in a warmer climate I have a choice to plant many different types of flowers should I choose to. Fruit trees are another option, and I like to have an avocado tree as my family loves this fruit and we use it quite often.

Home Safety

We are exactly two weeks away from Christmas, and my brain is a puzzle. I forgot to set up a post last weekend, or it could be because I was so so busy. I don't remember really.

As years add up onto my life, I find it more difficult to keep everything straight, and the lack of motivation to fit it all in also. I will have to make a list of what needed to be done when we are away for a week, such as setting up automatic timer for the lights, bolting down windows and doors, and making uses of foods in the refrigerator.

We have an enclosed solid wall around the house. The advantage and disadvantage is the same: no one can see pass this wall, which means that if someone is trying to break in, he won't be seen.

My questions are:

1) Do you have security alarm for your house?

2) Is your area safe enough not to install security alarm?

Spontaneous Questions

I've just realized that Christmas time is so much closer now, but still haven't find the excitement or enticing idea to decorate our house yet! Part of it is that we are traveling to spend time with Amanda's family, so I don't see the need to "deck out the house" for that matter.

We are not going to Michigan after all, as the tickets are not very affordable during the Holidays season. It didn't work out as planned, even if we've planned it way in advance. Many times without planning, thing works out much better than not! Thus, it is fine to adjust.

My questions are:

1) What works for you: planning or spontaneous decision?

2) Are your house all decorated for Christmas yet?

Birds Of Paradise

I am pretty sure that this is called Birds Of Paradise, which is a unique plant that I have come across many times in Hawaii while we were on vacation many years back. I took some photos but didn't blog then, and I was in a trance seeing the beautiful colors from this flower.

Hawaii has many beautiful flowers of the tropic. Too bad for me as photography and blogging were alien to me. I may have to convince my husband to go back soon as we both love Hawaii. Oh, and I have my eyes on a DSLR camera also. Will see if that can be listed in birthday present or Christmas present this year :-)

Relationship With Grandparents

Eight hours of driving on the road one way has done me in this past weekend. That was 16 hours altogether, and I was not a driver, but I fell depleted of energy as well. The in-laws live too far away from us, so to see them, we have to put in two days of travel.

Visiting my in-law was good for my son, as I like to watch him interacting with his grandparents. There is something nice about that relationship. My siblings and I never had that chance with our grandparents on both sides. Once a year, we make a trip to go for Thanksgiving, and once a year they come to visit us.

My questions are:

1) Do you think having a relationship with grandparents important in a child's life?

2) Were your relationship with your grandparents left you with fond memories?

Colorful Ornamental Plants

Red Leaves

I love this type of plants! The type that doesn't have to flower to be beautiful, and the type that adds colors to make the surrounding areas look happy. The only thing that crossed my mind is Ornamental Plants or colorful foliage, as I have no other idea what to call it.

Yellow and Green Leaves

This one was so beautiful with its yellow leaves and green stripes, or maybe vice versa! A walk through the garden center opens up my eyes to marvelous things, but the only drawback was not having enough time or freedom to shoot pictures. There isn't enough patience with a little child in tow, is there?

Mini Vacation Trip

First of all, I wish everyone a great Thanksgiving, lots of laugh, wonderful memories, and time well spent with family. Secondly, tomorrow afternoon, we will be on the road for 8 hours drive to be with my in-laws.

I won't have many opportunities to be online to return comments until next week. However, I will still be the late comer. Lastly, since time is pinching as I still have to pack, emails to read, orders to fill; I will post my two questions for this week straight away.

Holidays Traveling

Old drooping cosmos

I am planning a trip back to Michigan in December to visit my mom and my two sisters. Well, actually the thought is in my mind, and all I have done is looking for cheap tickets so far.

My little boy wants to see and play in snow! Yes, snow! My husband has a week off during this time. My mom is getting weaker. Those are legitimate and perfect reasons to make a decision easier. They are not, as the price for airfare is sky rocket during the Holidays.

I look online every day for affordable tickets, and if it fits my pocket then the time for traveling is not ideal. Having a 6 years old kid, I do not like to do "red eye" flight, especially when I have to cough up 300-400 dollars already.

Thus, my questions for this week are:

1) What advice do you have for Holiday travelers?

2) Do you flight home for the Holidays?

Red Flower

I think this is the beautiful dahlia flower. When taking this picture, I forgot to pay attention to what it was due to excitement, and the rushing of a young child's voice. It was just too beautiful to pass over so aim and shoot I did as I knew there would not be a next time.

A Bit Closer

Many times on my errands run, I saw things that I would love to have time to take pictures, and thought that I would come back but it never happen like that. So now I learn to seize the moment and deal with it later. I am glad I have these photos of the beautiful red dahlia.

Green Flowers

Hurricane Sandy has left a costly devastation in many States, and I dare say ruining many many families. I can't imagine starting all over with nothing, can you? Houses were leveled, possessions were gone, mentally, emotionally, and physically exhausted trying to stay out of harm's way.

Indeed, as a refuge I've lived through this nightmare, but I was just a young teenager. The heavy burden was on my parents to keep the family together and led us to safety. Now, as a mother myself, I sincerely doubt my ability to think straight if we were going through a destructive storm like Sandy.

The National Weather experts agree that as the climate changes, superstorm like hurricane Sandy will be the norm. Scary, isn't it? That will only mean we would see more terrible disasters in the future, and would see more banners asking for donation.

On this last note, my questions are:

1) Do you often donate to natural disaster in the US and abroad?

2) When donating, are you sending your contribution to the Red Cross or directly at your local church/organization?

These are not my mum flowers, but was found in a public place and I just happened to walk by to see them. I love the pink color and the vibrant yellow heart. I don't have any mums around my home as I am not a good gardener or have time to garden with a small boy and a home base business.

Leaves Got Caught

Seasonal depression is an illness that not many people paid attention to, especially for those who live in a relatively sunshine State such as California like myself. Our season changes are not that drastic like other places, but it does have some effect on me.

I suddenly lost interest in doing many things and feeling droopy. I keep on delaying and dragging my feet in fulfilling orders. The funny thing I noticed was that I had loads of inspiration, but actually just did want to carry it out for some odd reasons.

Oh the mums, beautiful, gorgeous mums are all over now with fantastically in rainbow colors! They are doing so well in Fall weather, whether rain or shine, they bloomed, and they become showstopper This mum has a deep ripe of peach color.

Leave it to nature, and these mums glow! They have multi-colors of light orange, yellow, and peach under the full bright sun. When I walk around and see these glowing mums, I got very happy for no reason. No wonder why we all love flowers!

What Would You Do Without Internet?

I am stumped, really, really stumped! Two questions, that's all, just two questions, but I can't find anything worthy to ask. Has my brain become dull? Have I run out of creativity or temporary went blank? I stare at the computer screen; I stare at the photo; I stare into space and nothing comes to my mind. Why is it so hard to ask questions?

Then I remembered how panic I was on the weekend when our internet went out! I restarted my computer over and over again. I called my service provider again and again since I couldn't get through. I was thinking in the back of my mind "what am I going to do now" sort of the question. It was like I suddenly lose my arms. Something was missing! Something was not right! I couldn't believe that my life, and many of yours too, depending on the internet.

To knock that panic feeling away, I took my son to the beach. Luckily, I have no internet on my phone, or else, who knows if I could stay off it :-)

1) What kind of activities would you do if your internet is not available?

I was not looking to shoot picture of the bird, but it came, stood there, and volunteered to be a model. It took me awhile before I decide on snapping a couple photos because it was standing against the wind and the feathers flew so cute!

Isn't it pretty? Funny how it just showed up from nowhere and provided me a chance to photograph. I can't say that I know anything about photography, but I really love to just point and shoot and capture that unexpected moments.
