I would like to submit a suggestion because of my participation in the Performance Arts showcase labeled “Love” this past February, 2010. The Alegria(not sure about the spelling)…Waltz was done by 2 performers that have been long time dancers of the Dance Station. My question to you would be could there possibly in the future be a workshop for this dance. It was as always is very beautifully done. A workshop would be appreciated. Thank You!

Hi, My husband and I will be in Santa Fe 12/29,30.31. We are looking for places to dance West Coast Swing. We also dance some ballroom but are mainly WC Swing dancers. We would love to know where your WC swing dancers hang out and what would be going on for New Year’s Eve.

Hi Mary,
I am a Nia Fitness teacher in Ontario, Canada AND a lover of all Movement Arts. This post popped into my google alert for Nia. Thanks for your great blog. I also study West African Dance and wanted to add that Nia has been great to prepare my body for the agility to move comfortably in all directions, and to integrate the upper and lower body– all great for other dance forms. I also find it good for cardio.
Your pictures look like you bring a lot of joy to the Santa Fe area. Yippee! Happy Thanksgiving from the cold, wet climate of Canada. Mary Baxter

Boy, Lawrence, does this column ring true. I have many “broken records” clattering around my head. My problem is that when I practice, there are so many things I could be working on that I don’t know where to start.

Perhaps you could follow up with a column on how to structure a solo practice session.
