The response for the “The Best of Weddings 2009″ and “The Best of Engagement 2009″ Competitions was incredible with over 2,000 total votes. So I thought it would only be right to have the same competition with senior photos as well. Below I have selected two photographs from each senior portrait session that I personally LOVE! It was hard enough for me to choose the best two photographs from each senior portrait session so I am leaving it up to you, your friends and family to vote for the set photographs you like the most. The polls will open today and will remain open until 11:59PM Friday March 12th so be sure to cast your vote within that time frame. Northport Winter Carnival 2010

Last weekend I made the drive up to Northport, MI to photograph the fun filled Winter Carnival. This event was packed with broomball, sledding, frozen milk jug curling, ice skating, live music, contests and free hot dogs. On a personal note, it has been quite sometime since I have documented an event like this. The last time was when I was working for the Jackson Citizen Patriot and photographed the Party in the Park back in 2008. It was fun being able to photograph something different and I look forward to all the fun events that are bound to come out of Northport in the next couple of years due to a very motivated friend of mine, go get em’ Gavin!

Traverse City, MI Engagement Photos – Creighton & McKenzie

Yesterday afternoon, Liz and I had the chance to hang out with Creighton and McKenzie for their engagement session in Traverse City. We met them at their farm house and explored around the area and found some really neat backgrounds to use. We even got to go for a little snowmobile ride to get from one location to the next, it kind of makes me want to get a snowmobile again! Thanks Creighton and McKenzie for the great time and we look forward to seeing you for your wedding over Memorial Day weekend!

Class of 2010 Graduation Party Invitations

Dan Stewart Photography is now offering Class of 2010 graduation party invitations. Invitations are digitally printed on 4×6 postcards using 15 point card stock. All invitations are tailored to the specific needs and personality for the graduating senior; you even pick the colors, photos and information that goes on each card. You also have the option of adding either a glossy or matte finish to the invitation, as well as square or rounded corners. Invitations come in quantities of 25.

From there you have four categories from which to choose. Click the Senior category and enter your email and gallery password when prompted. No password? No problem. Shoot us an email and we’ll get that straightened out for you.

The Stewart Honeymoon: The California Coast

It’s been a fun trip down memory lane but this is the last set of photographs from our honeymoon. After our wonderful stay in San Francisco, Liz and I hit traveled down the California coast on Highway 1. We made various stops along the way before showing up at our California Reception. I know how lucky are we to have TWO receptions.

The Stewart Honeymoon: San Francisco

After our stay in the Dominican Republic, Liz and I were able to spend a day in the beautiful city of San Francisco. WOW! Liz and I absolutely love this city and wish that we could have spent some more time here.

Not sure if I would want to be those people on the bench.

I ended up buying my 50mm 1.4 in Chinatown so I had Liz do some modeling for me. She’s a babe…

This guy is a tour guide of San Francisco and was telling us all these places we should go to. Unfortunately we didn’t get to visit any of them.

The Stewart Honeymoon: Dominican Republic

Yes we did get married seven months ago and I am now putting up some photos from Liz and I’s honeymoon. I have been meaning to get to this post quite sometime ago, but most of you know how things can get sometimes.

Liz and I went to the Dominican Republic near Punta Cana for our honeymoon. We spent an awesome nine days there where we enjoyed the weather, the beach, the sun and most of all, each other. Our honeymoon didn’t end here though, later this week I will be posting the other adventures we went on, (I just didn’t want to post 150 photos at a time) so be sure to check back for updates! Enjoy our DR trip!

After I got sun burnt on the second day, this is what I was staring at most of the time.

Every now and then I think about all the great times Liz and I have shared over the past six to seven years. Then I think about all the times we laughed, when we cried, when we fought and when we were miles apart. Then I get this feeling of happiness that rushes through my body when I think about how Liz is my wife. Then a tremendous joy overcomes my heart when I think about how I get to spend the rest of my life with her. Liz has a heart full of love and she pours it out on me every single day, no matter what kind of day she had or what kind of troubles she faces. It’s also hard to believe that a girl the size of Liz can carry around that much love, but she does it and the reason she can do it is because she is truly a gift from God, there is just no other way to explain it.

I love you Liz and thank you for all your hard work this past year, you have definitely earned more small vanilla lattes than I have bought you

Upland Highlanders Quarterback, my younger bro

As promised from when I posted Harrison’s senior portraits, here are some photos from when I had the privilege of standing on the sideline and photographing one of his football games in California. This particular game Harrison was definitely on FIRE! Throwing for 4 touchdowns, 301 total passing yards and had a career long pass of 70 yards. Not only did he burn a hole in the stat book, but he lead the team to a 42-7 victory over Alta Loma. I figured he was just showing off because I was there, but I took a look at some game film and it seems he performs like this quite often. After you take a look at these photos be sure to check out his highlight film (fast forward to 1:15), and season stats. I’m proud of you Harrison!
