How to Add FeedBurner Subscribe Link After Every Post in Blogger

Want to give your readers, a choice to subscribe your blog rss feed when he visit your blog and found any article useful. You can do that just by adding a feedburner subscription link after every post in blogger. Here in this post, i will explain the way to add subscription link.

Step 1: Go to "Layout" tab and then click "Edit HTML".

Step 2: Click on "Download Full Template" to take a backup of your template before making any changes.

Step 3: Now select "Expand Widget Templates" checkbox and search for the line "<p><data:post.body/></p>" in your blog template.

Step 4: Copy the text given below and paste it just after the line mentioned in step 3.

Step 5: Replace the URL "http://feeds2.feedburner.com/nokia5800downloads" to your blog feedburner URL and replace the text "Nokia 5800 XpressMusic Downloads" to your blog title.

Step 6: Save the template and check. You will see a link after every post as shown in the following image.

Sometimes we need to embed MP3 files in order to better explain the topic of the blog post. Since Blogger does not provide you this functionality, I will explain here the way by which you can embed MP3 files along with player in your blog post.

First of all, you need to upload your mp3 file in some website. You can use any free service. You can upload this file to either GooglePages or Google Groups or any other service. Once you have your file hosted on any website, you have to copy the below code and paste in your blog post. The mp3 will be available on your post. Visitors will be able to listen it on your blog or website.

When you are done with paste, you need to do the following changes. Replace external_url with the actual URL of your mp3 file as shown below in bold.

Google Adsense Ads Below Post Tiltle are Allowed

Here is a point of discussion that we should do it or not. I personally feel it really great for good CTR. But at the same time, It's against TOS of Google, if did not clearly put any text above ads or tried to confuse the visitors of your blog or website. Blogger only provides you option to put ads between posts. A bad and against TOS example to have ads just below the post is shown in the following image provided as an example from Google team.

In this image, there is nothing between post title and ads, which confuse visitors and give them wrong impression of having actual information rather than ads. So never try this way of having ads on your website just to increase your CTR. So what are the other ways to have ads below the post titles without violating TOS of Google. Following images shows how you can do that in a fair way.

Both the images put some text before the ads begins. The right hand side example image is much better than the left one. What Google says is that

Ads shouldn't be placed under a title or section heading in a way that implies that the ads are not ads.

So you can keep the ads below the post but keep TOS in mind otherwise it will not just increase your CTR but also ban your adsense account.

You can add Yahoo! Messenger online button to your blogger blog to let other people contact to you when they visit to your blog. You can display your Yahoo! Messenger status (online/offline) to your blog visitors using these buttons. The code to add in your blog is-

You need to replace text "YOUR-YAHOO-MESSENGER-ID" with your actual Yahoo! Messenger id. You have choice of showing different button styles as well. Just change the variable "t" value in above code to either 0, 1, 2 or 5. You can see the button style from the image given below.

FriendFeed, the popular social aggregator website has recently launched some cool widgets that you can put into your blog to show your visitors, the services you use and your FriendFeed activity. In my last post, i explained the way to add Share on FriendFeed Button to Every Post in Blogger. In this post, i will explain how you can add FriendFeed badge in your blog. You can see the image below to know how this badge will look into your blog. You can also see this badge in the sidebar of this website.

This badge is customizable. It means you can fit this badge to suit the style of your blog. You can make your picture small, medium or large. You can show/hide Logo, Picture, Services, Stats and Subscribe link in this badge. You can set the width of the badge as well. To add this badge to your Blogger blog, following are the steps.

Step 1: Login into your Blogger account using your Blogger username and password.

Step 2: Click on Layout link from your dashboard, you will see Add and Arrange Page Elements under Page Element tab. See the image below for your reference.

Step 3: Click on "Add a Gadget" as suggested in the above image. and select HTML/JavaScript from the popup dialog as given in the image below.

Step 4: Copy any of the script given at the end of this post and paste it in your blog as instructed the image below.

Below are the customized script for FriendFeed badge. Before you paste this script to your blog, please replace the FriendFeedNickName in this script with your actual FriendFeed Nickname.

In a series of my posts about adding different services to your blog, this post will explain how you can add Share on FriendFeed Button to every post in Blogger. FriendFeed is very useful Twitter kind of service that let you share your upadtes (Twitter, Linkedin, YouTube, Google Reader, SlideShare, Digg, Picasa, Flickr) at a single place to your friends.

With the help of Share on FriendFeed Button, you can give your website visitor a chance to share your post to their FriendFeed.

Step 1: Login into Blogger with your username and password

Step 2: From your dashboard, click on Layout link as suggested in the image below.

In this post, i will explain the way to add Reddit button to every post in Blogger. Reddit is a popular social bookmarking site and adding a Reddit button to your blog can give your blog readers, a chance to bookmark the interesting posts of your blog.

Reddit provides 3 kinds of buttons to choose from. You can see these 3 different button styles in the image below. The state of the buttons will change once someone submits the blog post to Reddit. I will show the changed button states later in this post.

You can choose the button style, which suits to your blog layout. I have provided here the customized scripts for Blogger blogs. You can select either of the script and can add it into your blog. How to Report a Website or Blog to Google

Is your website being copied? Did you see SPAM results in Google search? Did you see a blog or website that is violating the Google AdSense Terms of service (TOS)? If you are looking for the ways to contact Google in order to report any of these problems listed above then this post will help you.
In this post, I will explain several possible ways to contact Google to report a website or blog.

Google Search Results: If you want to report a website to Google, which is appearing in Google search results against a search keyword and that website is having serios problems such as Hidden text or links, Misleading or repeated words, Page does not match Google's description, Cloaked page, Deceptive redirects, Doorway pages, Duplicate site or pages or any other problem. You have two ways to report such website to Google.

Authenticated Form in Google Webmaster. It requires Google account. You need to login into Google webmaster in order to report for a blog or website.

unauthenticated form. You don't require Google account. You can report a website to Google.

Below image can give you an idea of the information you need to fill in order to report a website to Google.

Your report will help Google to improve search results.

Copyright violation: As I wrote earlier, if someone is stealing your copyright contents, you can always submit notice to Google to remove that site from their search index. Such complaint comes under Digital Millennium Copyright Act. You can read here more about how to file a DCMA complaint against a website.

SPAM Blog Reporting to Blogger: If you want to report a SPAM blog to Google, You can report it from http://help.blogger.com/?page=troubleshooter.cs&contact_type=Spam. You need to enter the SPAM blog URL as shown in the image below.

You can also report SPAM blog with the help of Blogger navigation bar with every Blogger blog. See the image below to know how to report SPAM blog. Many bloggers hide this default navigation bar. For such blogs, earlier method of reporting can be used.

Google AdSense Policy Violation: If you notice a website or blog which is violating the Google TOS. You can always report to Google AdSense team. There are two ways to achieve that.

Fill Policy Violation contact form.
Ads by Google link in Google ads. Process explained below.

You can always report AdSense policy violation to Google from the site itself, where Google ads are being displayed. See the below image for the process of doing this.

As shown in above image, when you click on Ads by Google link in any AdSense unit being displayed. It will take you to a new webpage. From this webpage, you can send a policy violation report to Google. Follow the image below to check this webpage.

How to Add Google Adsense for Feeds

Google just opened Adsense for Feeds. Now you can place relevant ads in your blog or website feeds. In this post I will explain the process of adding Google Adsense in your feeds.

Step 1: Login into your Google Adsense account with your adsense username and password.

Step 2: Click on "AdSense Setup" tab and you will see "AdSense for Feeds" option along with Adsense for content, search , referrals and mobile. Follow the image below.

Step 3: Click on Adsense for Feeds link and you will be navigated to a new page to create your ad units for feeds. Follow the image below.

Most of the options in the above image are same as in other ad units such as Ad Type, Frequeny, Post Length and feed position. You can also create channel to track the performance of ads unit.

Step 4: At the bottom of the above image, you must have noticed a text "You have no feeds in your account yet". This tells that you don't have feeds in your Google account. If you have an account with feedburner.com, you can go for migrating your feeds to Google.

In order to use Google ads in your feed, you either need a feedburner account or you can burn a new feed as the option given in the bottom of the above image. Currently, the process of migrating feeds from your feedburner account to Google account is manual.
You can follow Migrating to a Google Account in order to use AdSense for feeds to proceed for the migration.

Step 5: If you don't have account with feedburner, you can burn your feed right there from your adsense account. Check the above image, you will find a link at the bottom of the image with text "burn a new feed". Click on this link and you will see a popup requesting for your blog or feed URL. Follow the image below.

Click on next button as given in the image, if you have more than one feeds, it will prompt you to select any one from the available feeds. Just select feed and press next button. Now save your ad units by using save button at the bottom (See image in step 3 for your reference) and you are done.

Blogger, the popular blogging platform from Google today made a significant change in it's interface. With new user interface, people will be able to integrate iGoogle Gadgets into the blog sidebar. Blogger has added a new Gadget directory for you to choose from thousands of iGoogle Gadget.

Once your feed is added, Yahoo! will do the rest. Depend on the frequency of your contents update on your website, Yahoo! will check your feed. You can also tell Yahoo! about your latest updates using Ping. The URL for the ping is-

Yahoo site explorer gives you complete control over your website in Yahoo!. You can track the progress of your website with Yahoo! site explorer. You can see what all pages of your website are there in Yahoo! search index. You can track the internal and external links to your website. Most of the webmaster prefers backlinks calculations of Yahoo! than Google because it shows all your backlinks. If you are not aware of backlinks, refer to the post here.

Google Tips to Avoid Public Service Ads on Your website

We all know that Google Adsense script is advance enough to display best possible ads on your website that matches the contents of your website, but sometimes webmaster see public service ads on their website. One of the main reasons of these ads is the lack of contents on their website. Google today shared few points to remember for every webmaster that use Adsense on his website.

Google crawlers have tough time finding the right ads in case your website has no or very little contents. According to Google, avoid using too much flash, image and videos because it will affect the relevancy of the ads displaying on your website. If you are heavily using flash, images and videos, then along with these, you should provide some contents in order to let Google crawlers displaying best and targeted ads on your website.

Many publishers complain that Google does not index their pages fast or my pages do not rank high in Google or my new pages are not getting index at all. Here is the solution of all these problems. In this post, I am going to tell you 16 quick tips that will help to boost the rankings of your webpage in search engines.

Keep the title of webpage not too long and not too short.

The title of the webpage should be clean and reflect the contents of webpage.

Your targeted keywords should appear in the title of your webpage.

Keep your URL short, not too long

Like title, keep your targeted keywords in URL.

Give a proper META keywords and description tags to your webpage.

Always keep META description relevant to the title and contents of your webpage.

Avoid excessive use of keywords, also called keyword Stuffing in either title, URL or main text of your webpage. Refer the post.

Make sure you did not copy existing contents in your webpage. It may led to Google penalization. Always provide unique contents in your webpage.

Google Adsense team today gave good news to publishers. It is now official that publishers can share their ad space. Now on a single webpage or website, multiple publishers can have their ads. Google team has finally clarified this doubt among publishers and now publishers can go for this kind of Ad sharing model.

Google Adsense team also shared some important points to notice when you are going to implement such ad sharing model in your website or webpage. These are-

The maximum number of products on a single webpage will remain the same. Refer this.

Displaying yours ads on other website which is not yours, requires permission from the site owner.

Earnings will not be divided between accounts. Generated revenue will be credited to the associated account of ad unit from where the click was generated

Shared website should not violate Google's TOS and it must comply with Google's program policies

It's better to review a website where you are going to put your ads, otherwise it may led to any policy violation for your adsense account.

Always check the Google's Allowed Sites feature before putting your ads on any website.

Finally Google's confirmation to Adsense revenue sharing model will help publishers to implement this kind of model on their website without any concern that Google may ban their adsense account.

Google Knol Top on Search - Left Wikipedia Behind

Google Knol opened to public just 3 days back and everyone knows that it's a Google answer to Wikipedia. Wikipedia ranks very high for thousands of keywords. I read somewhere in a blog that while searching "knol" in Google, Wikipedia comes on top but the question is that how long it will happen. Today I searched "knol" in Google and found this-

Finally Google Knol left Wikipedia behind for keyword "Knol". Let’s wait and see how long Google keep himself fair with thousands of Wikipedia's high ranking keywords.

For a publisher and webmaster, both Google Knol and Wikipedia is good in terms of referral traffic. The advantage with Google Knol is that you will be able to make some money out of a Knol by adding Google Adsense on it.

Google PageRank Q3 2008 Update (July 24 Onwards)

Google PageRank, the very hot subject of discussion among every webmasters. We all know that Google updates the PageRank values in Google Toolbar every 3-4 months.
Last PageRank update was occurred in April end 2008 and now Google again started updating the PageRank value. Q3, 2008 Google PageRank update started from July 24 and it will continue for a week.

At this time, you can see the difference in PageRank value in all Google datacenters because PageRank is updating in all datacenters and when all datacenters will start showing the updated values. Google Toolbar also will show the updated value of PageRank. Below snapshot is taken from mypagerank.net (multiple datacenters check) and it is showing the different PageRank values across many datacenters for one of my blog.

All I can see is that one of my blog is moving towards PR3, previously it was PR2. Datacenters are showing updated values for my blog Daily Technology Tips also and it's PR4. Previously it was PR N/A because it's a very new blog.

It's now confirmed that Google PageRank Q3, 2008 update has been started from 24 July and webmasters around the world will notice change in PR values in coming dates 25 July, 26 July, 27 July, .......

Note: Google Toolbar is now showing updated PageRank on 26 July, 2008. It's Q3 PageRank update from Google. I just checked my blog and found it updated on Google Toolbar.
