‘Blow Job‘ is a series of portraits by Lithuanian photographer Tadao Cern showing people’s faces being blown by strong winds. Cern used a machine that produces gale-force winds to distort his subjects’ faces, but I don’t know if he also used minimal make-up and Photoshop to achieve his desired effect.

I thought Orlando Bloom was really busy being a dad and he no longer has a passion for memorizing scripts and saying them in a dead monotone voice in front of a camera. But hey, Legolas has a new movie coming out and it looks pretty good (but not for every taste, of course). Check out the just released trailer for “The Good Doctor” after the jump.

Synopsis: British medical student Martin E. Blake (Bloom) transfers to a Southern California hospital to start his residency. Charming and handsome, Martin is in reality an arrogant individual who longs to wield power over others. After starting out badly with patients and on thin ice with his superiors, 18-year-old Diane Nixon (Riley Keough) comes in suffering from a kidney infection, this gives Martin a boost of self-esteem. However, when her health begins to improve, Martin fears losing her and begins tampering with her treatment to keep her next to him in the hospital. An orderly, Jimmy (Michael Peña), discovers this and threatens to expose Martin unless Martin gives him a steady supply of drugs.

“The Good Doctor” is set to hit theaters on August 31, in limited release. And before that, the Lance Daly-directed flick will be available on iTunes on July 27.

Orlando Bloom’s “The Good Doctor” debuts first trailer

Panasonic recently demonstrated its Head Care Robot — a new machine that “offers a more satisfying and relaxing experience than a wash from a human.”

According to the electronics giant’s promo video, the robot, which is being developed for elderly and disabled, has sensors in each of its 24 artificial fingers. Eight of the fingers work the back of your neck while the rest rub your scalp.

Aside from shampooing your hair, the machine can also rinse it, apply a conditioner during the massage session, and even blow dry it off for good measure.

There’s this cute girl in my favorite salon in downtown Manila who does a very relaxing neck and head massage (and sometimes more) every time she washes my hair. So why would I settle for a robot with 24 fingers that can just shampoo, condition and blow-dry my crowning glory? All I need is a gorgeous Asian chick in a sheer white top and a black bra who gives me the “extra”!

I’m more of a dog person than a cat person, but this news is just plain awesome.

A cat cafe has recently opened in Vienna, Austria, where customers can have food and drinks while playing with their feline friends.

The Cafe Neko (“Neko” meaning “cat” in Japanese) was the brainchild of Takako Ishimitsu, a 47-year-old woman who originally hails from Nagoya, Japan, where cat cafes are common.

“Showing unknown Japanese concepts is good for Austria,” Ishimitsu said. “I had various ideas, and the cat cafe project was the least difficult to realize. And at the same time, I can do something good for the Vienna animal shelter which I have been supporting for years.”

The establishment, which has 50 seats, has been an instant hit with locals and tourists alike.

Now here’s something to get your mouth into

Exploring new technologies has never been this good. Evolution in communication lines are evident until now. From land lines, pagers, cell phones, and now, smart phones. Whether through calls or chats or even visiting your favorite networking sites, smart phones have it all! Indeed, technology advances faster than we could think of. Leading to these advances is Samsung, one of the leading companies that provide us with various smart phone choices. And now, another technological rumors state that Samsung is going to launch another galaxy phone called as Samsung Galaxy SIII.

Several leakages about the features of this new smart phone are all round the net. The most awaited day of its release is said to be on May 3, 2012 at London. Rumors indicated the following specifications (what the consumers usually look at):

• 4.6 inch High Definition screen
• 1280 x 720 pixel resolution
• Processor: Samsung Exynos (1.4GHz quad-core)
• 2GB RAM
• 2 MP front camera, 12 or 16 MP rear camera
• Use of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich

Now we have a glimpse of what this new technology could offer, the next question would be how far is the advancement of Samsung Galaxy SIII from its predecessor (Samsung Galaxy SII)?

Screen

Wider screen means wider view of your applications, wider field for fun and exciting games, wider area for office applications. SIII is said to have a 0.3 wider screen as compared to SII.

Camera

More detailed images with higher resolution cameras are also updated in this new Galaxy smart phone. So stop missing out on that precious moments, take pictures whether on the move or not, SIII can capture it!

Processor

For personal computers, dual-cores are probably on of best bet. Dual core processors make fast response to mobile activities such as gaming, multitasking can be done smoothly, experience browsing your web pages in a snap, etc. Although there’s no or little evidence that quad-cores are better than dual cores, it is also worth the try. Just like buying a newly upgraded phone, you know there is a difference, and that difference accounts for mostly positive ones.

RAM

Random Access Memory (RAM) goes hand in hand with the processor. The larger the RAM, the faster the navigating and process would be. SIII has doubled RAM memory as compared to SII. With quad core processor and a 2GB RAM, how fast can that get huh?

Physical Buttons

We are all used to seeing physical buttons for our cellular devices. It gives us easy access to what we need to do in that phone. One disadvantage of SII is the lack of physical home and exit buttons. If you’re new to these kinds of things, then it will be hard to determine which button to point at. Luckily, SIII is said to have this physically visible buttons.

Whatever the differences they have, we are sure that Samsung does their job to ensure that their clients would buy and enjoy their products. Newer versions of their mobile technology are definitely the most updated and feature a lot of good specifications. I don’t really want to get too technological about this. All I can assure is that most of us can’t wait to buy or at least have a hold of this new Samsung Galaxy SIII. With its promising features and specifications, Samsung will definitely have whooping sales of this product. Indeed, it will be another hit in the market and another valuable worth of our money!

Samsung Galaxy S III

This is called the Hover Car, Volkswagen‘s sci-fi-inspired eco-friendly two-seater that floats just above the ground using electromagnetic road networks.

My father always told me that in the future, we’d have flying cars. For most concept vehicles, though, that “future” never arrives. I’m just hoping to see VW’s Hover Car go from being just a “great idea” to becoming a reality…soon!

When it comes to telling time, I prefer the basics. But if you truly value the importance of your reputation as a computer geek, then this clock is for you.

Here’s a nerdy, hard-to-read timepiece built by Mike Szczys. You too can make your own. Just check out Mike’s post on Jumptuck where he explains how he created the device. But first you need to learn the binary numeral system, if you don’t already know, or else you won’t be able to tell the time.

The clock is controlled by an ATtiny44 and has a bare PCB board with LED spires that radiate out from its center, reminiscent of a traditional wall clock. Each spire has three digits, corresponding to 1, 2 and 4. When the inner and outer digits are lit up, it shows a binary five. Then the next spire will start the count. Confusing enough for you yet? The hours are displayed with a red LED, and they correspond to the positions of an analog clock, so at least those are easy to read.

In 2009 Efren Peñaflorida was named CNN’s Hero of the Year by creating mobile “pushcart classrooms,” karitons filled with books and other school supplies, that bring education to poor children in the Philippines. Now a man in Argentina wants to follow his noble ways.

Artist Raul Lemesoff transformed a 1979 Ford Falcon, a model used as military tanks during the 70s, into a roving library. Equipped with about 900 books, he roams the streets of Buenos Aires, educating his community through the sharing of literature.

Raul hopes to eventually take his “book tank” beyond the borders of Argentina and spread peace through knowledge to different parts of the world. Here’s an interesting video of Raul and his Arma De Instruccion Masiva (Weapon of Mass Instruction).

Raul Lemesoff’s Weapon of Mass Instruction

Ever wonder what some Google employees are doing in their spare time? Of course, they like creating cool stuff. And by mixing his passion for Android and beer, Paul Carff has come up with a machine worthy of praise.

What you’re looking at right here is a an Android-based automated beer dispenser called the KegDroid, a.k.a “Betsy“. I’ve seen an iPad-powered keg before, but I think this KegDroid is way cooler.

Carff, a senior developer advocate at Google, combined a Motorola Xoom running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with an Arduino microcontroller to create the machine.

What I really like about this invention is it protects brews from unauthorized drinkers. Activation of the KegDroid requires a form of authentication which is done through an NFC badge. If accepted, you are logged into “Betsy” via your Google+ account and then you can select your choice of beers and sizes.
