Purdue Research Park-based LyoGo among competitors in 10-xelerator competition

A developer of drug-delivery devices based in the Purdue Research Park is competing against nine other entrepreneurial teams in an Ohio-based summer entrepreneurship competition. LyoGo LLC is one of 10 teams competing in the inaugural 10-xelerator program that began June 13. Each competing team received a $20,000 grant to support business and living expenses during the 11-week development program. The program concludes Sept. 1 with the New Venture Showcase.

Two leading nanotechnology industry experts and Indiana's top economic development officer will highlight a daylong focus on entrepreneurship at Purdue University next month, culminating with the inaugural Nanotechnology New Ventures Competition. Sean Murdock, executive chairman of NanoBusiness Alliance, will deliver the keynote address during the awards reception and dinner beginning at 6 p.m., March 25, in the Venture Caf� of Discovery Park's Burton D. Morgan Center for Entrepreneurship. Jeffrey Welser, director of the Semiconductor Research Corp.'s Nanoelectronics Research Initiative, will give a presentation, "Nanoelectronics Challenges for the Next Decade," at 11 a.m. in the Burton D. Morgan Center, Room 121. E. Mitchell Roob Jr., chief executive officer of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, will speak at the noon luncheon in the Venture Caf�.

Application to the Entrepreneurial Leadership Academy for faculty requires nomination/endorsement from both the faculty member�s head and dean. Application for a PREPP Fellowship for either a postdoctoral or a doctoral student can be made directly by the applicant, but will require a letter of support from the major professor. Professor appointed Burton Morgan Center's first faculty entrepreneur-in-residence

Purdue University biomedical engineering professor Alyssa Panitch has been named the first faculty entrepreneur-in-residence at Discovery Park's Burton D. Morgan Center for Entrepreneurship. Panitch, who has been involved in launching three companies, will serve as a resource for university faculty, staff and students looking to start a company from their work or research at Purdue. She also plans to create a network of faculty experts who can serve as a university-wide resource to help advance the university's commercialization efforts.
