Christian Musicianary Band “Take No Glory” to Lead Worship at Cypress Church on November 15th

*Take No Glory,* a Christian musicianary band, will lead worship services at Cypress Church on Sunday, November 15th. Cypress Church is celebrating their Year of Worship and they have invited several different praise and worship groups to be guest worship leaders during the past several months.

*Take No Glory* is a non- profit musical group and they will be giving away free copies of their latest album *Beautiful Slave* on Sunday at the church. The title song on their new album was written by lead singer and keyboardist Johnna Utile. She was inspired to write this song after reading the story of a young girl that was forced to be a child sex slave. Johnna and her husband Ian formed the band a few years ago to bring life changing music and the message about Jesus to the world. They are not associated with any major recording label and have chosen to primarily distribute their music through internet outlets like Facebook, YouTube and MySpace.

Johnna started writing songs and playing the piano and guitar when she gave up her old way of living in 1999. At that time she felt God’s call on her life and has devoted her talents and energy to serving Jesus. The new album *Beautiful Slave* is not just an individual effort. It is the product of four years of songwriting and studio work with a very supportive team of musicians. Ian and Johnna have been attending the Schools of Ministry and Worship in Costa Mesa.

Cypress Church is focusing on world missions during the month of November. The church sends out and also supports teams that are meeting the material and spiritual needs of people in widespread areas across the globe.

Sonz Of Trybe Featured During Cypress Church Missions Week

A major priority at Cypress Church is helping people in need around the world. Members of the congregation regularly travel to distant cities in the United States and also to foreign lands. During the *Step Into Missions* Conference the church invited the band *Sonz Of Trybe* to lead worship on Sunday, November 8th.

*Sonz Of Trybe* is a Christian band from the Samoan community in Orange County. They shared their unique flavor of praise music utilizing Reggae, Hip Hop and Rock music styles. The band will soon be going on a mission trip to assist Tsunami victims in Samoa. The band’s music is available on the internet. Their original tune *Roots of the Righteous* has been played more than 6,300 times on MySpace.

During 2009 Cypress Church has sent teams of missionaries to Ecuador, India, Kenya, Mexico and New Orleans. The church also provides support of teams in Cambodia, Germany, Japan, South Africa and Asia. In the local area they partner with Faith in Christ ministries in Los Angeles and also Campaign for Care.

There will be a Missions Rummage Sale at Cypress Church to support the Urbana and New Orleans teams on November 21st from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Donations are being accepted on November 19th and 20th.

The focus on mission activities continues throughout the month of November. The musicianary band *Take No Glory* will perform at the *It’s A Grind* Coffee Shop on Valley View near Lincoln on Saturday, November 14th. The group will be at Cypress Church on Sunday, November 15th.

Cypress Church Thank You Dance Will Support We Care Agency

Cypress Church will be supporting the *We Care* agency at their Thank You Dance on Sunday, November 15th from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The community is invited for an evening of light refreshments and dancing to many different styles of music.

*We Care* is a family support center sponsored by local churches, community groups, corporations and concerned citizens. They serve families residing in Northwest Orange County including the cities of Los Alamitos, Seal Beach, Rossmoor, Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley, Cypress and Stanton. Cypress Church supports the agency by collecting food for distribution to those in need.

All Pro Dads Play Ultimate Frisbee on Saturday November 7th at Larwin Park

Cypress Church will sponsor an All Pro Dad Breakfast on Saturday, November 7th from 7:30 to 8:30 am. Dads and kids will be able to enjoy a game of *Ultimate Frisbee* at Larwin Park along with breakfast burritos prepared by The Knights of the Holy Grill. Men of all ages are invited to participate and learn more about All Pro Dads (even if they don’t have any children).

*Ultimate Frisbee* is a cross between non-contact football, Frisbee and netball. There are two teams in the game and players must pass the Frisbee to another player instead of running with it. If the disc touches the ground then the opposing team takes possession of it and continues to try and reach their end zone. Larwin Park is located just east of Valley View on Ball Road across the street from Cypress Church.

All Pro Dads provide the ultimate in resources for men who want to become better fathers. Men get practical, hard hitting advice and encouragement to become passionately involved with their children. In addition to the breakfasts there are daily email tips called *Play of the Day* and many other resources.

There are many activities for families at Cypress Church. Every Monday evening there is a men’s Bible study beginning at 6:55 pm. Awana clubs for kids meet each Wednesday evening starting at 6:45 pm. There will be a Boutique in support of the Cypress High Spirit Squad on Saturday, November 7th from 9 am to 3 pm. On November 15th there will be a “Thank You” dance in support of the *We Care* family assistance agency starting at 7 pm.

Marine Corps Commends Knights for Outstanding Performance

The United States Marine Corps issued an official *Certificate of Commendation* to the *Knights of the Holy Grill* from Cypress Church. The Knights were formed about five years ago as a service organization by Dave Austin and a group of men and women from Cypress Church. They cook Bar-B-Que meals and serve food at many local events.

The Knights have often had the opportunity to serve the Marines at Camp Pendleton. During the month of August they put on a fantastic Luau event for the Security Battalion. In addition they assisted the Woman’s Club of Cypress at their Veteran’s tribute event during September.

The Certificate of Commendation was issued by Colonel S. R. Dinauer, Commanding Officer of the Security Battalion. Col. Dinauer commended the Knights for their “outstanding performance in their continued support of the Marines and families of the Security Battalion, Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, California.” He stated that: “The Knights of the Holy Grill’s sustained and noteworthy dedication is greatly appreciated.”

The Knights regularly serve a men’s breakfast to the All Pro Dads on the first Saturday of each month at Cypress Church. During the past year they have been instrumental in helping raise funds for the Buena Park Fine Arts Commission programs and have served at local schools and Boy Scout events as well as the Boys and Girls Club of Cypress.

Harvest Dance at Cypress Church on October 31st

Cypress Church is sponsoring a Harvest Dance party on Saturday, October 31, 2009 from 7 pm to 10 pm. Costumes are encouraged. There will be several different styles of music for dancing and light refreshments will be available.

This is a great opportunity for those seeking an alternative way to celebrate during the Fall season. The dance will be held at Cypress Church, 6143 Ball Road, just east of Valley View in Cypress, CA. There will be games and prizes for all ages. We encourage family participation and so childcare will not be available. The cost for the event will be $5.00 per person or $10.00 for an entire family.

Children Welcome New Program Director

Local children and their parents cheered and applauded at the Wednesday night Awana club meeting during welcoming ceremonies for Mike Haugland their new program director. Mike and his family are long time area residents and he has recently taken the helm of the Children’s Ministry program at Cypress Church.

Mike grew up in Southern California. He and his wife Tiffany have known each other since they were in High School. They have five children in their family. Mike attended Marina High School and he has spent many summers in the mountains at Hume Lake Camp. Before becoming Director of the Cypress Church Children’s Ministry he worked for Spectrum College Funding.

The children’s program at Cypress Church enjoys an excellent reputation in the North Orange County area. In addition to weekly “Wednesday Night Rocks” Awana clubs, there are many fun and exciting activities available for young people. Mr. Haugland has a great passion for working with children. He is looking forward to developing even more stimulating programs for kids in the local community in conjunction with his excellent staff.

Mike is planning a children’s Christmas musical performance in December celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. There will also be a summer music camp for kids in June and Vacation Bible School in July.

Dance the Night Away on Thursday Evenings

Country Western Line Dancing has become very popular in recent years. People of all ages from kids to seniors can join in the fun. Laura Matayoshi is hosting dance classes that are open to the community on Thursday evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Laura is an accomplished dancer and has experience with many dance styles including: Ballroom, Club, Swing and Latin. She is now venturing into Country Western dancing including Line Dancing and Two Step. Her classes include both personal and video lessons. The current lessons begin with Line Dancing from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and then move into Country Western Couples styles from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. There is a suggested donation of $3.00 per night.

This Country Western dance instruction is being held at Cypress Church located at 6143 Ball Road just east of Valley View. Everyone is welcome to be part of the fun including those who may think they have “two left feet.” The Country Western series will be offered through December 17th and new participants may join at any time.

There will be a Harvest Dance on Saturday, October 31st from 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. This will be fun for the whole family. Several styles of dance music will be presented and costumes are encouraged. The cost for the dance will be $5.00. Tickets will be available at Cypress Church starting October 1st.

A “Thank You” Dance is set for Sunday, November 15th from 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to get together for a fun time and to help others as well. There will be many different styles of music to dance along with at this event. The cost is either $5.00 or guests may bring two tems of canned food for the “We Care” pantry and receive free admission. Tickets will be available at the church starting on November 1st. Cypress Students Bring Blankets To Skid Row Homeless

Cold winter nights are coming soon and many area homeless have no way to keep warm. On Monday, September 21st a large group of volunteers from the Cypress area traveled to Los Angeles to deliver care packages to homeless people on Skid Row.

The trip to LA was timed to celebrate the International Day of Peace. This distribution of care packages was the culmination of eight months of preparation.

Many schools in Los Angeles and Orange Counties assisted in getting ready for the big day. Participating schools included: ABC Preschool, Brethren Christian School, Ernie Pyle Elementary, Intensive Learning Center, Landell Elementary, Lindstrom Elementary, Mayfair High, Suva Intermediate, Woodruff Elementary, Swain Elementary, Laguna Nueva Elementary, Los Coyotes Elementary, Lake Center Middle School and Orangeview Junior High.

Students from these schools teamed up with adults and local college students to hand make 300 blankets. Then care packages were assembled that included the blankets as well as personal hygiene items, socks, knit caps and other items.

On September 21st these packages were delivered to needy individuals living on the streets and not able to be cared for by established agencies and facilities. The need is great as these homeless people are actually sleeping on the concrete due to crowded conditions at Los Angeles missions.

This grass roots project was organized by local area residents Stacy and Tim Tuttle. About six years ago they started an organization called *Campaign For Care.* Many residents and community groups from Cypress, Buena Park and the surrounding area have assisted them in making and delivering 3,865 hand-tied blankets to the homeless since 2004.

One of the major supporters of *Campaign for Care* is Cypress Church located at 6143 Ball Road just east of Valley View. People of all ages in the Cypress Church congregation have been instrumental in donating clothing and supplies for those who are less fortunate. Student Ministry Pastor Danny Kugelberg and many of the Junior and Senior High youth and college students from the church participated in the September 21st distribution trip.

Holy Grill Feeds Veterans at Tribute Picnic

The Woman’s Club of Cypress honored local area veterans with a picnic and tribute at Veterans Park in Cypress on Saturday, September 19, 2009. The Cypress Church Knights of the Holy Grill prepared and served a BBQ lunch. The Patriot’s Ministry and U. S. Food Service were co-sponsors of the event.

The afternoon celebration began with a stirring rendition of the National Anthem by Rachel Langan of the Patriots Ministry. Mariellen Yarc, President of the Woman’s Club of Cypress, welcomed the veterans and introduced the Cypress city officials in attendance.

Mayor Doug Bailey reminded the crowd about the sacrifices made by our military to keep our nation strong and free. Council Member LeRoy Mills, a graduate of West Point, read the Military Code of Conduct. Also in attendance were Cypress City Council member Todd Seymore and Mayor Pro-Tem Dr. Prakash Narain.

Chaplain Rob Crossan, a Navy Captain attached to the Marines at Camp Pendleton, gave praise to God for our many blessings and offered a prayer for our Military and Veterans. The Cypress Church Knights of the Holy Grill served a fantastic BBQ meal.

The Veterans Tribute event was attended by many local community residents including members of the Cypress College Chargers. The Chargers played an exhibition game of wheelchair basketball. Additional assistance with the picnic came from Tim Keenan, Chairman of the Cypress Chamber of Commerce, and Rex Jennings, the chief of voluntary services from Long Beach Veterans Hospital.

The picnic’s primary sponsor was the Woman’s Club of Cypress. They are affiliated with the General Federation of Women’s Clubs. GFWC is the largest and oldest international service organization of volunteer women in the world. It is comprised of fifty-two State Federations including the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. Their motto is: Strength united is stronger. The club is comprised of women of all ages united in community service and support. Bible Studies and Activities for Women Offered At Cypress Church

This Fall Cypress Church is offering a wide variety of Bible studies and activities of particular interest to women. The Book of Daniel Bible study is on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm in Room 206. This class includes lives of integrity and words of prophecy and is based on material from Beth Moore and Lifeway Ministries. The topic for September 2009 through May 2010 is *Living with Passion and Purpose* based on the Gospel of Luke. Cypress Church will sponsor an All Pro Dad Breakfast on Saturday, October 3, 2009 from 7:30 to 8:30 am. The speaker will be Long Beach Harbor Pilot, Captain Bob Koehler. Breakfast will be served by The Knights of the Holy Grill. Captain Koehler’s topic will be careers in the maritime field and the importance of our local ports to the economy.

Blood Drive at Cypress Church on September 14th

There is always a need for blood and only volunteer donors can fulfill that need for patients in our community. Cypress Church will sponsor a Red Cross Blood Drive in the church parking lot from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, September 14th.

Nationwide someone needs a unit of blood every 2 to 3 seconds and most of us will need blood at least once in our lifetime. Donors will be helping save lives in our local area. Each participant must weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health. Donors will receive a gift certificate from Mimi’s Café.

Cypress Church sponsors many community activities. There will be a nationally simulcast town hall meeting at Cypress Church on Friday, September 11th beginning at 6:45 pm. Men’s Bible study begins on Monday, September 14th at 6:55 pm. “Wednesday Night Rocks” Awana clubs start on September 16th at 6:45 pm. Men's Bible Study Fellowship Starts September 14th

Men's Bible Study Fellowship begins on Monday, September 14th at Cypress Church. The topic this year is the Gospel of John. New member classes will be held during the first two sessions in September and then on the first Monday of each month during the remainder of the program.

What makes Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) unique is their Four-Fold Approach to learning. There are daily questions, discussion groups, challenging lectures and study notes. BSF began with the desire of a small group to deepen their faith through a weekly Bible study more than 50 years ago. It is now an international movement of people ... all with that same desire.

While keeping its focus and commitment to teaching the Bible, BSF has grown from a single living room to church meeting places around the world. In all, there are nearly 1,000 BSF classes with 200,000 class members in more than 30 nations across six continents! Nearly 800 of the classes are held in the U.S. More than 200 men attend these studies that are held locally from 6:55 pm to 8:45 pm on Monday evenings at Cypress Church.

IMPACT Your World For Jesus Conference on October 10th

Cypress Church will hold a special conference on the topic -IMPACT Your World For Jesus- on Saturday, October 10th beginning at 8:30 am. Ask yourself these questions: Are you living the life God wants you to live? Are you fulfilling God's purposes for your life? How has your relationship with Jesus impacted your life? Are you leading a life of worship? How has your life impacted those around you?

The IMPACT Conference will help participants intentionally focus on truly leading a life of worship that will overflow into the lives of those around them. This event will be a time of worship, teaching, and fellowship that will change the way you view your life as Christian.

On Saturday morning, Pastor Steven Brooks will answer the question "What is worship? Chris Hay will teach about Upward Impact and developing a deeper relationship with God. Paul Mascarella is slated to share ideas about Inward Impact and show how to develop habits that lead to a life of worship. There will also be a session on Outward Impact to describe how your life of worship will serve to attract others to the Lord.

Lunch will be served by Dave Austin and the Knights of the Holy Grill. The Cypress Church Worship Band will lead songs of praise and worship throughout the day.

Afternoon sessions will include Intentional Conversational Evangelism and training on developing a One Minute personal testimony. Dick Horne will discuss the basics of -Coffee Napkin- one verse evangelism and Pastor Mike McKay will teach about the role of the Holy Spirit and prayer.

Fall Festival of Authors Luncheon on October 17th

Ever wonder what it would be like to sit down with an author and ask them about their books? Or get to know them personally while enjoying lunch together? Christian authors and readers from all across southern California will soon be doing just that - at the first Fall Festival of Authors Luncheon nearby at Cypress Church.

Guests will have the opportunity to mingle with the three featured speakers Kathi Macias, Athol Dickson, and Susan Titus Osborn, when doors open at 9:30 a.m. Morning refreshments (muffins, coffee, tea) will be ready, and are included in the price of the luncheon ticket, which offers a complete lunch of salad, quiche, dessert and selection of beverages.

In addition to the three special speakers, a variety of other Christian authors will be in attendance, each hosting one of the luncheon tables, and seated among the guests, ensuring a personal connection with an author!

Following the lunch, authors will display their books and other materials which will be available for purchase and signing. Each author will also be listed in the program directory, with contact information, and guests will be free to chat with them and pick up brochures about their writing and speaking ministries.

Susan Titus Osborn is an adjunct professor at several Christian universities and the director of the Christian Communicator Manuscript Critique Service where she heads a staff of 18 editors. She has authored 30 books, as well as numerous articles. Athol Dickson’s River Rising, was a Christy Award winner, and one of the Booklist Top Ten Christian Novels of 2006 and a finalist for Christianity Today's Best Novel of 2006. Athol won a second Christy Award with The Cure, picked by Christian Fiction Review as one of the Ten Best Novels of 2008. Kathi Macias is an Angel-award winning writer who has authored or co-authored nearly thirty books and part of the devotional writing team for Zondervan's New Women's Devotional Bible. Kathi and Susan are also both popular retreat speakers.

The event is for both men and women. ECLA, the Evangelical Church Library Association, Southern California Chapter, and the Women’s Ministry Team of Cypress Church are jointly sponsoring the luncheon. It's back-to-school time again and Cypress Church is accepting registrations for Wednesday Night Rocks. Spiritual training is a vital component of every child’s life and the church has many exciting programs for children of all ages on Wednesday evenings.

Awana Cubbies club for preschoolers is built on the premise that very young children can and should receive spiritual training. Wednesday meetings provide fun and lots of it. Games, puppets, crafts, awards and other activities transform this preschool program into a lively weekly experience where fun and learning go hand in hand.

Sparks club meetings combine learning with fun to create an atmosphere of irresistible excitement for kids from all types of backgrounds. Children from Kindergarten through 2nd grade will enjoy Bible teaching, worship, award presentations, and fun games. Along the way, Sparky, the firefly, will encourage them to want to learn more about Jesus!

Amazing Journey reflects the passion of Awana to teach kids the truth of God's Word and train them to follow Christ in their daily lives. This program will train the leaders of tomorrow ...today. Children from 3rd through 6th grade will enjoy games, worship, Bible study, fellowship, awards and missions projects that will help the children see the world through God's eyes.

Simulcast of National Town Hall Meeting on September 11th at Cypress Church

On September 11th Joel C. Rosenberg and Lt.-General (ret.) Jerry Boykin, former commander of Delta Force, will host the simulcast of a national town hall meeting being held to discuss security threats to the United States and the future of Israel. The evening will include the showing of an excerpt from the documentary film Inside the Revolution. There will be a question and answer session and a time to pray for our nation.

Joel C. Rosenberg is the New York Times best-selling author of The Last Jihad, The Last Days, The Ezekiel Option, The Copper Scroll, Epicenter: How the Current Rumblings in the Middle East Will Change Your World, Dead Heat, and Inside the Revolution with more than two million copies in print. He is also the founder and president of the Joshua Fund, a nonprofit charitable and educational organization that provides humanitarian relief for victims of war and terrorism.

General Boykin is one of the elite warriors chosen in 1978 to make up the first unit in America’s Delta Force. He then became commander of the unit, and later still, commander of all U.S. Army Special Forces. His thirty-six years in the military included a tour at the C.I.A. and clandestine missions around the world.

The documentary film Inside the Revolution by Joel Rosenberg was filmed on location in Iraq, Turkey, Morocco, Israel, the United Kingdom, and Washington, D.C. Fun Places Family Guidebook Available Free At Cypress Festival

If you are a parent you have probably wondered what in the world to do when your kids are bored or restless. Author Susan Peterson has the answers in her premier Southern California guidebook.

Susan has written weekly columns for the Los Angeles Times and the Long Beach Press Telegram, as well as feature articles for parenting and family magazines. Her publication, “Fun and Educational Places to Go with Kids and Adults,” was voted the Best Family Guidebook by Los Angeles Magazine in their annual "Best of LA" issue.

Cypress Church is offering the 7th edition of “Fun Places” free to the public at the Cypress Community Festival on Saturday, July 25th. There is a limited supply available and the book is available on a “first come – first served” basis. Festival hours are from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Vacation Bible School Starts July 20th at Cypress Church

Cypress Church will sponsor “Crocodile Dock” Vacation Bible School from July 20 - 24, 2009. At VBS kids will need to keep an eye out for “God in action” in their everyday lives—they’ll even notice the daily demonstrations of his love that are often overlooked.

VBS Director Carrie Oswald has planned an exciting, well rounded program for the week. “Children will discover how their actions can be a ‘God Sighting’ by showing Christ’s love to others. They might place a fun treat or note on a family member’s pillow or give a smile to someone who doesn’t have one.”

Vacation Bible School hours will be from 9:00 am until Noon. Everyone involved in this VBS program will explore God’s Word and never be the same again!

Cypress Church Band to Play at Community Festival

The Cypress Community Festival is less than one month away on Saturday, July 25th. The entire community is invited to hear the Cypress Church Band play on the main stage at Oak Knoll Park from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Band leader Steven Brooks has promised an upbeat, inspirational afternoon for all. “We’re going to have a great time as we play a mix of contemporary Christian rock with a fusion of jazz and pop,” Brooks said. “Songs will include “I Can Only Imagine,” “Who Am I” and “Your Song.” It’s going to be a blast!”

Steven Brooks received his music degree from Azusa Pacific University. He has been the Pastor of Worship Arts at Cypress Church for three years, teaches college classes in worship ministry and he also founded Worship Quest Ministries.

Brooks will be joined by saxophonist Jeff Sisil. Jeff teaches instrumental music at McAuliffe Middle School and is the Music Director at Cypress Church. He is the assistant conductor of the Cypress Pops Orchestra, plays Saxophone for Mainstreet Music and Mystic Cheese and is a freelance musician in LA and Orange County.

The Cypress Community Festival will be held at Oak Knoll Park at 5700 Orange Avenue beginning at 9:00 a.m. There will be games, rides for the kids and entertainment all day long. Early birds can come at 7:00 a.m. for the Kiwanis Club Pancake Breakfast. The Festival has been an area tradition for almost 30 years. This year will be the fifth time that Cypress Church will be distributing free bottled water and “Daily Bread” pamphlets to festival goers.

Youth of all ages will find exciting summer activities at Cypress Church. The Youth Ministries annual dodge ball tournament, Dodgeapalooza, will be held at Cypress Church on Saturday, June 20th from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. In addition to dodge ball there will be inflatable fun, a joust/Velcro wall, raffle, lunch and much more.

Job seekers and those affected by the current economic crisis now have new video resources available from “Life Navigation.” On May 30th Cypress Church sponsored a seminar on the topic “Life Navigation In Turbulent Times.” All of the presentations on jobs, finances and the economy were recorded and are accessible online with a “click of the mouse.”

Those seeking employment will benefit from the sessions on resume preparation, networking and interview tips. These seminars are presented by Human Resources professionals John Risler and Dan Fleming.

Dr. Gary Painter of USC gives insight into the present economic situation and some ideas about when recovery might begin. His address is entitled: “What In The World Is Going On?” Ward Nickless of the “Glass House” financial ministry has advice about how to manage personal finances and create a budget. His presentation is an introduction to the “Making CENTS” money management workshops offered on Thursday evenings at Cypress Church.

Dr. Tom Buckles from Biola provides perspective on what God may be doing to get our attention and how we should respond. His seminar looks at the topic “What In The World Is God Doing? Professional counselor Ron Jackson and Maria Nickless of Glass House offer thoughts on how to provide assistance to individuals, couples and families affected by the downturn in the economy.

Philip Bardowell to Lead Worship at Cypress Church on June 21

Christian recording artist and songwriter Philip Bardowell will lead worship at Cypress Church on Sunday, June 21, 2009. Services are at 8:45 am & 10:30 am. Bardowell is a well-known recording artist and a former Cypress High School student. He presently leads worship at a Christian church in Orange County.

Philip played with the legendary Beach Boys from 1996 to 2001 as vocalist and lead guitarist and has also performed with Mike Love of the Beach Boys in the Endless Summer Beach Band. Soon afterwards Philip discovered that he felt a void just singing and playing music for the sole purpose of entertainment and began attending a Christian church in Orange County, CA in search of a new purpose for his life. He was asked to join the praise team and began serving regularly as a vocalist and musician. This led to his acceptance of Jesus Christ as his personal Savior.

"I came to Christ by worshipping Him through song." says Bardowell. "He entered my heart through my praise and worship of Him and my life was changed forever.” Philip had found a new passion in serving The Lord, but continued in his career as a professional musician. Philip is known for his role as lead vocalist in the Frontline Records Christian Rock band, Magdalen.
