The booklets were to inform families of what to do if there were a tornado, a flood, a wild fire and a few other natural disasters.

My daughters kept showing me pictures and reading the information to me. As we were getting ready to leave the restaurant my oldest crumb cruncher looks at me and says, "These are really informative dad, but they DON'T tell what we're supposed to do if we're attacked by dinosaurs."

She left it at that and walked out of the building. I giggled on my way out knowing that she really didn't think we would be attacked by dinosaurs. Why? Well, first off I sold two iPhones, a Nintendo DS and a Sony Clie which paid for the gadget. The second reason? Because so many people were saying not to buy one and that it was nothing but an enlarged iTouch.

After doing a bit of research on my own I decided that this could actually be the coolest electronic gadget ever made. Anyone that says there is nothing special about the iPad and that they don't want one is full of poo-poo. Come on, this dude is cool to the max.

I have recently decided to put the darn thing to use by creating a WordPress blog from scratch and updating it entirely from my iPad. Anything I use other than the iPad will be noted and kept to a minimum.

Many people are calling the iPad a consumption device with no ability to create things. I'm out to prove them wrong. I already have a website up and running and will be adding tons of content to it as the days go by.

Surf over and check things out from time to time. I'm sure it won't be long and I'll even be updating this website from the iPad.

iPodDude.com - Adventures in creating a website using only an Apple iPad and a bit of creativity

From the 70's to now...

Wow! (Yawn)

Yes, yawn is right. Super Bowl Sunday doesn't mean much around our house unless someone else is having a party. If I was sitting at my computer working I'd most likely have the TV on another station rather than on the Super Bowl.

Why? I can't really put my finger on the exact moment that I lost ALL passion for the NFL but it was many years ago. I think the game is just boring. The Super Bowl is boring and the half time show is so overrated it's a bigger let down than the game.

The best part of the Super Bowl? The commercials! And luckily you don't have to watch the Super Bowl to see them any longer. Just watch the news and the Internet and you'll get to see the best commercials. They don't even save them for the Super Bowl much any more.

I think the NFL has lost its luster because players are no longer loyal to their teams, coaches are no longer loyal to their players, owners are no longer loyal to their coaches and you can't even count on a team staying in one city any longer. The team you like this year could be divided into eight others teams, a new coach and a new city by next year. Why follow that crap?

So here's a half ass cheer for the Super Bowl this year... yippee.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://www.curtistucker.com/2010/02/its-super-bowl-weekend-yawn.html' title='It's Super Bowl Weekend! Today, with CSS, I am able to much more than before so I'm trying it again.

On top of the Wordpress code I am using a great theme called Thesis. I have enjoyed learning everything this combo can do and they can do bunches!

My first website is taking shape. It may not look exactly as it does now but it should stay pretty close. I'm combining my love of web design, amateur photography and entrepreneurialism to create my latest venture.

I am uploading many of my funnest and best photos, along with a collection of vernacular photographs, and will be offering low resolution images for free use on non-commercial websites and blogs. High resolution images will be available for print with just the click of a button.

Check out the site and give me some feedback! Over the years there were many things that seemed to reoccur and made the holiday special. These are just a few of the most memorable things I remember from Christmas's past. Enjoy and Merry Christmas!

1. The Christmas TV specials! I always had to watch Charlie Brown, Rudolph and The Grinch. Frosty, The Little Drummer Boy and It's a Wonderful Life are also notable. This was before cable, VCR's, DVD's and DVR's, so if you missed a special you wouldn't get to see it until the next year.

2. Getting a real tree. My mom would take us to the local grocery store to find a real tree. My sister and I always got to decorate the tree. In those days icicles were big so the tree had to be covered with a good layer of shiny silver icicles.

3. In later years my grandma decided it was easier and cheaper to wrap everything in tin foil. It became a family joke but always reminds me of Christmas. She always wanted to collect the foil and reuse it the next year.

4. Eating cream peas and poofy marshmallow salad. The only time we got to eat these treats was Thanksgiving and Christmas. We also always had a good selection of hot rolls.

5. Always having one big unwrapped gift from Santa. That gift was the first thing you saw and made the entire morning. We were never allowed to open anything on Christmas Eve.

Cool Christmas Toys I Got In The 70's

I've been trying to remember what the coolest toys were that I received as a kid in the 70's. I hate to miss out on what the girls have been up to and all of those fun memories from the 70's that keep popping up in my mind.

Here's an old photo we ran across of me, my sister and my great-grandmother Ethel Valentine Erwin. My mom had an even older 8mm camera that we borrowed and stuck a roll of film in. I think the entire film length was limited to 5 minutes so we felt like we had to work fast.

In this video you will find vintage 70's skateboards, fun banana seat bikes, grade school sneakers and some really wacky clothes.

Please ignore the quality of the film. The bad condition actually adds to the coolness of the video. Enjoy the movie and don't forget that we were only 10, 11 and 12 year olds.

See The Movie. I'm not sure what draws people to want to see zombie movies but whatever it is, it can be addicting.

I have been highly anticipating the new movie Zombieland with the notion that it might be one of the best zombie movies to date. Well, I finally was able to see the movie and here is my very unprofessional movie review.

I loved it! If you're looking for fun this movie is it. Short, sweet and to the point. The movie is short enough and moves along so fast that there is simply no time for lulls.

The laughs keep coming the entire ride and the characters are great. The zombie rules will be quoted for years to come and should a virus take over the world we will all know how to survive.

The only zombie flaw of the movie is that it is not your traditional, people stuck in a building with zombies all around, type movie. It is actually more about the characters than the zombies. If there was ever an uplifting zombie movie made, this is it!

The zombie kills are fantastic but not overly sick and very funny. This is not a movie made to gross you out. Other than a good amount of cussing this might even be fun for a young teenage audience.

As the leader of the sneaker wearing zombies I whole heartily give my zombie approval of Zombieland. I didn't think so. I have not been able to update much because I've been keeping myself busy. Wanna hear about my latest venture?

Well, you're going to anyway. My goal is to one day have a very large, thriving greeting card company. I started my little greeting card studio in 2002 and named it ChuckleBerry's. We've been taking orders and printing cards right out of our house for years.

I've sold cards in most every state in the Union and created a good wholesale business that has been supplying cards to gift shops, book stores, casinos, and hospitals.

To make a long story short, I've moved my entire operation from out of my little studio and teamed up with a company called Zazzle. Zazzle handles cards and merchandise for companies like Disney, Hallmark, Build-A-Bear and many others.

Zazzle.com now holds my greeting card catalog, takes my orders, prints my cards, ships the order and handles returns. I'm finally free to spend more time marketing and promoting my cards. I've actually only uploaded a portion of my entire collection but will have all cards online soon.

If you need a funny greeting card and would like to help out the little guy in the greeting card business, please consider buying some of my cards. You can see my live greeting cards here.

If you are remotely interested in investing in my growing little company please let me know. I know the ChuckleBerry's characters and brand will be a huge success in the very near future. If you need wholesale greeting cards or would like to earn extra money by becoming a rep visit this wholesale site and read all of the opportunities.

Thanks for checking on me! I appreciate it. I'll try to add more funny thoughts, photos, videos and more as I create a little free time.

Chuckles!

My Happy Feet

Sorry about the lack of updates! Can you believe it? For That Sneaker Wearing Dude it doesn't get much better than that!

Here are the first pair of All Star low tops designed by cartoonist Curtis D. Tucker. We start with the tongue, a cool combination of multi-colored polka dots from top to toe. I've also carried that pattern throughout the lining of the shoe. We then work our way to the outer panel which is a nice moonlight blue which will work great with jeans.

The inner body is the more traditional off white which makes this pair compliment almost anything. The racing stripe is all white and I finished the body off with a clean white color on the rubber sidewall.

The laces are an off white along with the stitching throughout. The heel stripe rounds out the sneaker colors in a phaeton grey. I've finished off this awesome pair of sneaks with a personal message along the back heel that says Sneaker Guy, lettered in white.

They should arrive in about 2-4 weeks at which time I will model them for you. Stay tuned!
