1. Tell us a little about yourself.

I grew up in Sunny California where I still live with hubby. We have two dogs, one name Artemis and the other Frodo. I have many passions in life and sometimes it feels like there’s never enough hours in the day to fulfill all of them. I love to craft because it allows me to meet so many people of all walks of life and I enjoy that!

2. Where do you find your inspiration?

I find my inspiration by looking at the patterns and colors in the paper I use. I also look at embellishments and that usually gets the creative juices flowing.

3. What is your favorite dessert?

I LOVE gingerbread or anything pumpkin.

4. If you could do anything without consequences, what would it be?

I would buy all the crafting supplies I could get my hands on.

5. Three words that best describe your personality.

Practical, independent and funny

Spring Kit Sneak Peek 3

Hi everyone! Did you get a quick look at the sneak peek of the ribbons over on the CC2G FB PAGE? (<-- link on left) Ohhhh it's so exciting!!! We are using a new company to us this month all the way from Australia. :)

Now on to our new "peek"...papers from Pebbles and GCD/Donna Salazar. You will love 'em! And a special treat...the connected butterflies i picked up in a little Amish shop during my travels to Iowa last fall.

Hello Everyone!
Another quick update from me. As hard as I tried a holiday kit was not reachable this year. I'm really sad about that but will save all the fun for 2013! Our floors should be completed sometime in January (no set date yet). I would like to plan for a special Valentine Kit and keeping my fingers crossed everything just "falls into place".

Hi crafters!!
A quick update from me. The entire CC2G office is going thru a makeover. As you can see new floors are going in and everything is packed up. Unfortunately, we are going to have to have them redone, again. :( At this point I am unsure if a Holiday Kit will be possible this year...it's going to depend on completion date. I'm hoping everything will be done before Thanksgiving so we can get my studio and office unloaded and back to normal. Don't worry I didn't forget about you all...been very busy. I'll update soon. Thanks everyone for your patience.

1. Tell us a little about yourself.

I live in a small town in the NW corner of Iowa with my husband of 14 years and our three kids. Making stuff has always been a big part of my life, ever since I was a little girl digging through my mom's boxes of fabric scraps...it seems to be a trait that has been passed down through many generations of women in my family! Today I love stamping, card making, a bit of scrapbooking, as well as sewing. My daughters seem to have caught the creativity bug as well and we love to craft together.

2. Where do you find your inspiration?

Online through blogs and sites like Pinterest and Etsy.

3. What is your favorite dessert?

Carrot cake with cream cheese frosting or cherry pie...or maybe strawberry pretzel dessert...I don't know...I just like dessert in general!

4. If you could do anything without any consequences, what would it be?

Stop cleaning my house and doing laundry.

5. Three words that best describe your personality.
Quiet, happy, easy-going.

I have missed you and I'm sooooooooo excited to show you a new kit this month!! YAY!! {I had to take a break for a little while to invest some time in physical therapy for my shoulder (trying to avoid surgery).} I was able to get my hands on some BRAND NEW items from the CHA Summer Show. They are so pretty!!! Just take a look at this sneak peek! This kit will be all about pearls and lace and sparkle and flowers and friends! Ohhh la la! We'll be back with some more peeks soon!

Tutorial: Interactive Slider Card

Happy Monday Morning CC2G Friends!

We've got a wonderful tutorial for you today on how to make an interactive slider card courtesy of DT Member Kristii Lockart. Enjoy!

Step 1 - Die cut and mark the score lines on the interactive card components. (I used Papertrey Ink's Movers and Shakers Sliders Dies.)

Step 2 - Fold score lines. Adhere the slider cover to the card base with narrow score tape.

Step 3 - Glue the slider to the slider cover flap using score tape along the end.

Step 4 - You can now pull your slider up to reveal the inside.

Step 5 - Add a stamped sentiment to the slider to reveal a hidden message.

Step 6 - Embellish to your hearts desire!

1. Tell us a little about yourself.

I am originally from Chicago, but now reside with my family of five in Huntsville, Alabama. I started paper crafting about 10 years ago and have loved every second of this hobby! My work has appeared in Paper Crafts magazine, and Cards Idea book series, as well as some online publications. I also held the title of Paper Crafts Gallery Idol, that was a fun one!! I am currently designing for BasicGrey, Anna Griffin, and Got Sketch? I am a huge fan of patterned paper, so working with this kit was a treat!!

2. Where do you find your inspiration?
I love perusing galleries like 2peas, thumbing through magazines, and of course Pinterest!

3. What is your favorite dessert?

Eli's cheesecake, hands down!

4. If you could do anything without any consequences, what would it be?

Travel the world on someone else's dime.

5. Three words that best describe your personality.
Analytical, Witty, and Thorough

We also asked Rae to share her space with us. I just love being inspired by others crafty spaces.

My scraproom desk is an 8 foot banquet table - We rarely have guests, so I have converted the guest bedroom into my scrappy space.

My 'secret' .... I have completely taken over the guest bedroom closet! Yes, I have paper craft supply hoarding tendencies... you are likely to find stuff from 2006 in there!!

We're here to share our guest DT Rae Barthel's "Thanks For Everything" card tutorial. Enjoy!

STEP 1 - Gather the following supplies pictured above.

STEP 2 - Cut piece of floral paper 5 1/4" x 4" to fit card front. Round corners. Trim die cut papers, layer, and adhere to the left side of the card with foam tape.

STEP 3 - Layer scrap on pink paper on green paper. Adhere sentiment sticker. Adhere to card front.

STEP 4 - Tie a bow in the length of red polka dot ribbon. Adhere, on an angle, to the card front. Adhere card front to card base.

STEP 5 - Adhere additional embellishments (felt flower, white felt bird, sentiment flag) to card front.

Guest DT Davinie Fiero - Card Tutorial

I am so excited about our April Guest DT Davinie Fiero. I have long been a fan of her creative cards and scrapbook layouts. I couldn't wait to see what she whipped up with CC2G April kit.

Card Tutorial

Trim two strips from two different patterned papers at 1.25 x 3.5 inches.
Trim a strip from a third print at 2 x 4.5.
Turn this third strip over and at one inch from the bottom and one inch from each side, make a dot. Trim from this dot to the lower edge on each side creating a banner shape.
Adhere the three strips to the top of the card, and stitch.
Add the cupcake clip and button.
Apply sentiment rub-on.

Guest DT Sharron Hoff:: Card Tutorial

Happy Easter CC2G Friends! We're here to share our guest DT Sharron Hoff's "Wish You Were Here" card tutorial. Enjoy!

STEP 1:

From the green dot zigzag paper, cut a piece 4.5 x 2.5 inches. From the gray stripe paper, punch or die cut two 1.25 inch circles and one 1.25 inch flower shape. From the butterfly paper, cut three butterflies. {I cheated and used a punch for these that happened to fit the size of those on the paper, the Martha Stewart Classic butterfly punch.}

Tip: For depth and texture, ink each piece before you begin assembling.

STEP 2:

Using pop dots or foam tape, adhere the butterflies to the circle and flower shapes. Attach buttons to the butterflies with glue dots, then adhere the shapes to the green dot piece with pop dots.

Adhere the embellished rectangle to the card front.

STEP 3:

Choose the sentiment {Wish You Were Here} from the sticker sheet and attach to the rectangle. Brush the back of the sticker with baby powder or cornstarch to remove the stickyness from the adhesive and attach using foam tape or pop dots, as I have done here. Use corner rounder on the lower right corner of the card.

"I hope you've enjoyed my tutorial for making this quick and easy card. The layout design is easily adaptable and can be done in various ways in different themes and different embellishments."

Happy Love Day CC2G Friends!

We have one last post to inspire you to "think outside of the card". Two of are amazing and talented design team members created an alterable item and goodie treat box. Check 'em out!

Tiff not only created a beautiful card but she made an accompanying flower arrangement as well. I'm loving how she outlined the edges of the circles with the stickles.

Danni created two stunning treat holders with delicious candy to boot. I'm lovin' how she layered the butterflies and adhered them to the hearts.
