Rebuilding Together in Springfield is commemorating the first anniversary of the devastating tornadoes by rebuilding homes with hundreds of volunteers! The event is called “Funnel Your Energy 2012”.Our event is a follow up to last October’s “Rebuilding 25 Homes in 5 Days with 1,000 Volunteers”.

Rebuilding Together is the only nonprofit in the city rebuilding homes for low-income families that sustained damage so that they may return to a home that is safe and restored. A recent assessment has over 100 family households in the city with over $1.4 Million in rebuilding costs that either did not have insurance, inadequate insurance or where the contractors took off with the insurance money and did not finish the job. Rebuilding Together is here for this daunting task.

With new wind installations in the US forecast to slow down beyond the end of 2012, the onus for optimizing the performance of existing assets has increased. Developers are looking at shifting more resources towards the O&M side of their business, whilst for OEMs, a softening sales market is enhancing the need for maintaining exceptional after-sales services and performance.

The agenda is designed around the key factors that can improve the operational performance of your projects:

Are you involved with equipment that is coming out of warranty?

Can you share your experiences with implementing a predictive approach to maintenance?

Do you oversee a data analysis team that has achieved breakthroughs in advancing your wind asset management strategy?

Is your company achieving improved reliability and reductions in down-time?

Have you successfully conducted retrofits or repowering on older wind farms?

Gulf Conference on Social Responsibility & ISO 26000

Under the Patronage of His Excellency Dr. Rashid Ahmad bin Fahad Minister of Environment and Water, Chairman of ESMA,we are pleased to announce the Gulf Conference on Social Responsibility & ISO 26000.

Around the world, any organization's performance in relation to the wider society and environment it operates in has become a critical part of measuring its overall performance. Now more than ever, organizations, whether they are big multi-nationals, sector corporations, SMEs, non-governmental or government agencies, are subject to greater scrutiny by their various stakeholders.

ISO 26000, launched in November 2010, provides social responsibility guidance for all types of organizations. The seven principles of socially responsible behavior as outlined in the standard are: accountability, transparency, ethical behavior, respect for stakeholder interests, respect for the rule of law, respect for international norms of behavior, and respect for human rights.

As the world moves towards an age of radical transparency, organizations and stakeholders are becoming increasingly aware of the need for socially and environmentally responsible behavior. ISO 26000 is thus a timely and relevant guide to help organizations understand what social responsibility is and what they need to do to operate in a socially responsible way.

In response to this, the Emirates Authority For Standardization & Metrology (ESMA), International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and Abu Dhabi University / AIM Events are pleased to provide you details of the forthcoming first Gulf Conference on Social Responsibility & ISO 26000.
