Human Gasses Destroying Sacred Shrines

Another environmental tragedy was discovered today. A study done by the Elvis Preservation Group Inc. found that over 25% of shrines dedicated to Elvis (and over 44% of shrines to Elvis impersonators) were so polluted with human gasses (55% fart, 45% burp on average) that people could no longer visit the shrines and pray to Elvis.

Ronnie Fly, owner of the now closed “Gateway to Elvis” shrine in Amarillo, Texas was surprised when one day he couldn’t go in the shrine without feeling sick.

“Yeah you know I didn’t think about it at first but we had a lot of big guys coming in and that chili dog place open right over there.” Fly said while flipping through a photo album. “Then one day I went in and was like oh man! Call my wife and told her ‘hun, dang you better come down here. Smells like our shrine went the way of a truckers bathroom.”

After a few weeks trying to clean up the toxic waste, they had to shut the place down. The EPA has taken over the site and will likely end up napalming the area.

Fly isn’t the only one who has suffered because of this secrete pollution. Rebecca Waldorman, an avid fan and builder of the worlds biggest Elvis head in Bonkus, Montana has had problems even though her shrine is completely outside.

“You see here look at his nose. I just painted that like six months ago and I swear it wasn’t that color. It’s all faded and looks more brown now. How can I keep my Elvis looking perfect with all this butt soot attacking it day after day.” Waldorman said. “I used to have some pretty flowers at the base to hold his head too…those died. I mean anything close to the ground, that’s were the gas collects!”

Environmental scientists claim the problem is a mixture of overpopulation, the burning of fossil fuels, and poor diet choices.

“Well you know if people would just eat a little better so they didn’t have to fart and burp all the time we wouldn’t even have this issue.” Scientist Elmore Glues said. “The problem gets worse when you consider how much fossil fuel is burned just to create that much human gas. Add in the fact that you have so many farters from over population. I mean it is really an amazing thing that we are all still alive right now!”

Blues claims the only way to turn this around is to use public transportation.

How Ruining My Credit Saved My Future

I'm hoping looking good will help when my credit comes up short.

Before I start this story I want to make something very clear. I am not recommending that you go out and ruin your credit in any way. In fact, having good credit is a good thing, and will help you achieve goals. Many companies will even do a credit check before hiring you, especially if you want to work in a financial type of occupation. I’m just telling a story of my life, and how I avoided a big pain most of my friends are currently going through.

My Mistakes
I made a mistake early on in my life that saved me from myself. My best friend and I wanted to go to this new Internet Cafe (although it wasn’t really a cafe but more like a storefront with a bunch of computers and desks all networked and ready for Warcraft III) but we didn’t have any money. We were in high school and didn’t have jobs. The school newspaper took up so much of our time we couldn’t work (or at least that was our excuse).

Lucky for me I had recently been approved for a credit card. It was supposed to be for “emergencies only” my mother would warn, but this was an emergency. We were so bored and needed some game action to spice things up or else we would end up committing felonies. So with my shiny card in tow we headed for the computer heaven.

It is amazing how long teenagers can play video games, and at $12/hr we quickly reached my credit limit. Another amazing fact, it can be difficult for that video game addicted teenager to come up with a minimum monthly payment. Especially since every dime I had went to pay for gas. You can guess what happened.

Instead of going to a parental figure for some help I decided to hide it. I just threw away the statements that came in each month, and I got rid of the card, which was useless anyways at this point. I figured that as long as I had the card it was somehow connected to me.

That’s how my credit went to hell. They reported my credit card fiasco, and being the only record on my credit report, it made me look like a pretty big risk, even for the most predatory of credit cards.

My Friends Mistakes
So I learned to live without, while I watched my friends around me get more and more credit cards. It seemed like all they had to do was make a few payments and they would get massive credit lines. A few more payments and they could get a whole new card. A few more payments and they had a years salary worth of credit.

Slowly, unlike my spending spree, the built up more and more debt until they were in a hole. A deep hole that required quite a shovel just to make a dent. They owed so much that if they just paid the minimum they would be dead before they were free from their bill. Many of them had to turn to debt programs, and things like the debt snowball just to have a hope of paying off what they managed to spend.

My Hopes for the Future
So I end up with no debt, and even though there have been many moments were I really could have used some credit, I have survived. The only debt I have managed to get has been some loans for school.

Of course, the downside is that once my friends pay off their debt, they are going to have great credit. In order for me to establish any credit, I am going to have to spend some money. Plus, I need to wait 7 or 8 years before the bad marks on my credit go away. The plan is after I get out of college I will get a good paying job and start building my credit slowly but surely.

That is the American dream though, and it doesn’t always go as planned. No matter what happens, at least I don’t have a mountain of credit card debt to climb. Either way, it seems like both my friends and I will have a long road of hard work to get our credit the way we want it. As far as I can see, the route I fell into is actually going to be a lot easier to navigate.

Want Blog Comments But Don’t Have Traffic?

When you first start your blog you will have little traffic unless you have a large advertising budget to bring in the visitors. For the little guy, getting traffic to a blog is a long process that requires lots of content creation, and lots of hard work.

Comments are great content
For a lot of blogs, and big part of that content is going to be in the form of comments. Comments on a blog help bring in the readers and get them involved in what you are blogging about. Engages and involved readers will keep coming back, and that is exactly the type of reader you want for your blog.

Getting comments can be difficult
When starting out, it is really hard to get comments. You can post your own comment, but people are not likely to get involved if they don’t see anyone else posting comments. Some may visit your site and see that you have no comments and think that your content must suck because no one visits your blog.

Another option is to make up a bunch of comments and hope that no one notices that they all sound kind of like they came from one person. This doesn’t work very well and is a lot of work for a busy blogger.

The best solution I have found is to pay people to come comment on your article. By having unique people come and leave comments, you get different viewpoints and more realistic comments. You can even get people to reply to others so once you do have organic visitors posting on your articles

How to buy comments
When I think of buying stuff online I think of the biggest online retailer Amazon.com . They have every product ever created, including human labor believe it or not.

Amazon offers something they call a turk. Basically you create a “hit” which is just a job, and other people on the site can accept the hit and do the task you lay out (in our case leave a comment). They get paid an amount you set for completing the task.

So, all you need to do is go to: https://www.mturk.com/ and sign up for a requester account. Once you explore the system a bit you will be able to create hits that tell people to comment on your article for $0.05 or whatever you feel like paying them (of course, the more you pay the better the comments will be).

Example of my Hit
So to prove how this works I am going to use Amazon Turks to get 20 comments on this article. Normally you would want the comment posters to write something related to the article, but just so you can see which comments are from Amazon and which are just normal visitors, I am going to do something a little different. I am going to have the commenters post if they like posting comments and how many comments they estimate they could post in a day.

And I paid $0.05 for each comment. Normally you will want to pay a little more for each comment. I can get away with it here because I say here, post this here. If you require them to understand what an article is about, and then formulate a comment, paying someone $0.50 isn’t out of the question. Try different awards and see what response you get.

Conclusions
If you have a blog article that would be much better with some comments to get your readers engaged, it might be a good idea to get some outside help to create those comments. Amazon Turk allows you to find people to post on your article, and at really affordable rates.
