I am impressed with Moolala.
I had a company that I bought a deal from who I could never get to answer my emails. I sent Moolala an email and asked them for a refund and within 30 minutes I had the credit in my account (voucher not credit, it had been more than 7 days).
I just wanted to tell you a story about a company who got it right. I’ve had good luck with Groupon also giving speedy refunds for deals that weren’t yet expired but never used. If they expire I’m not sure you can do anything like that, but if you have buyer’s remorse or can’t get ahold of a company – it’s good to know they stand behind their deals.

We have a new product to talk about today – they’re called Eraselets. I love that the company is from Middle Tennessee! They actually are made in the USA from a start-up family business. How cool is that? Now I’m sure you’re wondering what they are exactly – well they’re erasers that you wear on your wrists like bracelets.

We received the creature pack to review. When they arrived the kids were excited and wanted to try them on. I explained how you’re supposed to erase (with your thumb inside it so to apply the proper pressure) and let them wear them to school. When they came home I asked what they thought about them – here’s what they had to say.

Chee loved wearing them and showing them off. She said that her friends asked if they could have one, so I know that kindergarten kids liked them. She wasn’t quite able to make the eraser part work at school. We had to work on it and let me show her just how to apply pressure again and she’s still a little frustrated by it. I think maybe kindergarten may be a little young for it.

The boy loved them! He said that he was able to erase just fine and that they worked well. His friends in second grade wanted to know more about them too. He couldn’t quit telling me how wonderful they were. I asked why he didn’t wear his the next day and he said that he would get in trouble for playing with them – he has some attention issues and I’m proud of him for recognizing them. He uses it at home when doing homework though and still thinks they’re neat.

I think kids 7 and up would do well with them, they just have to learn how to make them work.

I did a test with them and you can see that they do work. I compared my pencil eraser with the bracelet. I realize that I should have left a mark to show the before I erased. I figure they have to work or what’s the point, right? They are not recommended for laser copy paper, glossy paper, or paper with a film on it.

A tiny bit more about the company just because: they give away 10% of their net profits to http://www.eraseworldhunger.com. The family that created them did so because their kids kept losing their erasers, I can relate. The dad said that he should just tape an eraser to a bracelet and then was like woah that’s not a bad idea. Ta-da. I love how ideas happen. They do customized ones as well – so you can get your child’s name, allergy info, school name, etc.

Eraselets – Review and Giveaway (ends 2/28)

I was trying to find out about a site’s reputation and trustworthiness  the other day and I was found a review site: http://www.sitejabber.com/

Well, I read reviews of nomorerack.com and they’re not good. It’s another drop ship site, where you place an order and it’s fulfilled somewhere in China and shipped to them and then they ship it to you. If you order from them, be aware that the shipping is very slow and customer service is crap. I have removed my link to them from the daily deals page. If you want to try to order from them, go for it but I am not going to endorse or get any credits from it. People are reporting getting the wrong size, shoes that had nails in them???, and it says no refunds. If they made things right maybe I’d hang on, but I’m just leery.

That said, it made me think of two of my favorite kid clothes deal sites: Zulily and Totsy
Reading the reviews at http://www.sitejabber.com/ again I’m not really sure how to proceed. I have had good experiences and bad with these companies. I’ve placed orders and had the goods arrive about 6-8 weeks after I order them. Then a few weeks back I realized I had ordered a few Hello Kitty shirts from Totsy and never recieved them, so I started to look into it. Logging into their site I saw my order which is good, but there was no tracking number. I waited and finally I wrote something on their facebook wall. They asked for my order # and then I was told someone would be in touch. Well, sure enough it had been over 2 months since I ordered and they replied back that they didn’t have the proper inventory and they will issue a refund for my order and give me a $10 credit for the hassle.

On one hand, I’m glad to have the extra $10 credit. Then there’s the part of me that wonders what if. What if I’d forgotten that I had placed an order, would they have just kept my money (review sites seem to say yes)? I have to say they handled it ok after being contacted so I will order again, but I will keep a better eye out to be sure I get my item or my money back.

I haven’t had much dealings with Zulily, but I’ve heard it is very similar to Totsy. You’ll get your stuff in 6-8 weeks or it will never come and you’ll have to harass them to get your credit card charged back, but they will make it right if you call them out on it.

Anyone have any thoughts? Have you had a good / bad experience with Totsy or Zulily? Aside from ship time…did you get your items? Was it what you ordered? I think both sites don’t allow returns, but if it’s their problem they’ll refund it, I have read.

Anyway, I really wanted nomorerack not to be bad. They have great deals posted, but I’m not giving them my credit card info if this is how they behave. Sitejabber seems to say that they have a fake verisign logo. Yikes!

I am waiting patiently for some more Dollie and Me to come up at Totsy since I have some credits there. And today Zulily has the cutest Rapunzel and Disney dresses…… they just pull me right back in with their super cute stuff. If they ever burn me and don’t fix it then I’ll unsubscribe, remove them from my site, and quit looking all together.

I found that Best Buy has some pretty good deals on Blu Rays this week. In the list (click on movies) Chicago (2002) – Widescreen on Blu Ray for $5.99

I happen to LOVE the movie Chicago. I think one day I have to go see a live version of this if it still tours. Then again, I know once you’ve seen the movie you have those characters in mind. Heck, it’s why I don’t like seeing the Les Miserables movie, at all. I love the musical and I’ve seen it at the Orpheum a few times (and a PBS special with one of the Jonas Brothers) and I loved them all.

All that to say, does anyone know if the live version is a thousand percent better? Like Les Mis? Hmm wow this just became a live musical versus movie rant, huh?

I can’t believe that Cheech is 6. I wanted to share a few photos from last night. Also I wanted to say thanks to you guys for voting for her and thanks to Mommy Shorts and Crumbs bakery for making her birthday that much “sweeter” (sorry for that little pun). She was bragging to everyone that she was getting a big cupcake from New York. I’m glad it arrived in time and she had her brother, best friend, mommy, daddy, and her neighbor friends over to help her eat it.

I asked her to let me do a new smash photo for you but she wasn’t really excited about it. So I dabbed a tiny bit on her nose and she laughed. Funny how 5 years makes the difference there.

I’m pretty sure my husband wants another one soon. He was going on and on about how moist the cupcake was and I was laughing at him (at first), and then I was like woah back there a bit you know that I also make cakes sometimes. The great compliment they received was that nothing I ever made was as good as the Crumbs one. So I guess the insult to me is a compliment to them.

Chee wanted to make a video to say thanks, but then she wanted to make another. Sorry but they were both cute (to me anyway) so I posted both. I maybe should have made 2 different ones to click and watch two. Looking back maybe it’s weird to have edited them together. Oh well.

I told you she was obsessed with Monster High. I just had candles and stuff I was going to put on top, but her MH cupcakes looked cute against the big cupcake and she decided that 3 of her dolls had to be around it too. It worked out ok.

This week around page 9 of your Walgreens ad you’ll see this coupon for Valentine Candy. It’s a store coupon, so it can only be used at Walgreens (unless someone else nearby takes them as a competitor – nobody around here does that I know of). This will make these candy packets $.39 (as it says) and it says limit 6.

That’s all well and good but it gets better. There’s a coupon for $1/2 now for these – and it says “Save $1.50 off any 2 Mars Seasonal Items.” It doesn’t say a size or anything so these should work just fine. Some Walgreens will allow overages, but if you haven’t done it before you can either a) try to see if they’ll pay you for taking 2 packs or b) get 4 for really cheap!

Here’s how: Run on over to print this coupon to save $1 on 2 Mars Candies. Note it does say something about Walmart on it, but you can use it anywhere, it’s not a store coupon it’s a manufacturer’s one…this will work at Walgreens just fine.

Here’s a few scenarios:

Buy 2: .39 x 2 = .78 , .78 – 1.50 = -.72 (the store owes you 72 cents)
Buy 3: .39 x 3 = 1.17, 1.17 – 1.50 = -.33 (the store owes you 33 cents)
Buy 4: .39 x 4 = 1.56, 1.56 – 1.50 = .06 (you pay $.06)

So if you’re going to be buying more stuff at Walgreens then do the 2 if you want. I can “use” an overage but can’t get it back in cash. So if you buy 2 and maybe something else worth more than .72 it would work. To be sure it works and may everyone happy buy 4 and spend .06 (and tax in TN).

Best part, go print that coupon again and do it again. You can print 2 coupons at coupons.com for each item. I use zip code 90210 and click “foods” and it was on page #3 for me.
