For those of you who do things last minute for the holidays or just plain forget than you are in luck with a couple ideas I have for your Thanksgiving table this year. I just whipped these up with a little help from Better Homes and Garden magazine from October.

This one I did myself with no help, hopefully it is not that obvious..LOL. We went to a pumpkin patch last month and gathered up all kinds of pumpkins some of which we used for pumpkin carving for Halloween and the rest we strategically placed throughout the house.

So, what I did was

1. Grabbed one of the pumpkins that I already had

2. Put it on a decorative plate that is displayed in our house throughout the year

3. Used a vase that I already had and went outside in my very sparse backyard (we live in Colorado), grabbed some mulch and rocks, added a pinecone and nut mixture that I use for my Christmas decorations

4. A very large candle that I purchased at Walmart for $1.99 last month.

5. As the final touch I used some fake leaves that I purchased also at Walmart for $3.99.

I am kind of proud of myself for this because it cost me less than $7.00!

It's not the most fancy centerpiece I have ever seen, but it works!

This next one I was inspired by the cover of Better Homes and Gardens last month. I don't know if any of you saw it, this is not an exact replica but pretty close and I thought it came out pretty good.

What I did:

1. Used a tray that is displayed in my house all year long, it serves many functions..love it.

2. Bought a bag of Fall ghourds at Albertson's last month.

3. Used some fake leaves that I purchased at Walmart for $3.99.

4. Cored out two small pumpkins and filled them with two candles that I purchased at Walmart for $.59/each last month.

5. Wrapped some raffia around the candles and tied them in a bow.

That's It! Pretty cute huh?

Although I enjoy reading them, I would love it if they added their photos or their own design in some way. First, you'll want to come up with some ideas of what you'd like the Christmas cards to look like, trust me this is not hard at the end of this article I will include some very inspirational sites that I have found. Choose colors and themes, and then draw or write on a piece of paper what the card will say and look like.

Quick Tip: Have you saved any of your past Christmas or holiday cards from Christmas's past? Cutting up and using the designs from old cards as embellishments for your new Christmas paper craft cards is an extemely low cost way to make your own Christmas paper crafts. You would be very surprised at how much you have to work with just by going through a few old Christmas cards. It is also a good way to clean things out. Although very sentimental, keeping every single Christmas card you receive and shoving them away somewhere never to be seen again is just not very efficient or organized. Pull those old cards out and re-use them for your own altered craft creation.

Imagine you had no concrete plans for your children this Halloween, but they are invited to a party at the last minute and don't have a costume planned. If this happens to you, don't panic! There are some things you can do fairly quickly to create a cool costume without spending too much time or money. First, remember that the mask makes the costume. You can print out masks online and color them in, then cut them out and attach them with string or a rubber band. Don't forget to cut out the eye and nose holes! Or, you can opt to make a mask out of a paper bag. The process is easy, and once the mask is decorated it can look really creative. Be sure you have a snug fit that won't fall off and it allows for plenty of room for vision and breathing.

The next step is to focus on the actual costume itself. Remember that most clothing can be implemented into a costume of some sort. For example, all brown clothing can help to create the look of a bear. A white sheet is one of the most versatile things you can use for a costume. It can create a Greek mythological character, a ghost, or a medieval warrior. Depending on how the sheet is cut and placed on the body, it is a very versatile ally when it comes to the last minute Halloween costume. If you don't have a sheet to spare, towels and pillowcases work just as well. Think of some other items you might have lying around the house that you can use like scarves, nylon pantyhose, or other clothing that would make a fun costume.

Decorating the costume with various colorful craft related items will also add a lot of interest, this will allow your child to be involved in the making of their own costume and give it some uniqueness. One could idea is to grab a plain white t-shirt and draw a peace sign on the front, adorn it and get some old blue jeans and a bandana or leather band around your head and become a hippy! Use glitter, sequins, rhinestones, felt, feathers, markers, and anything else you can think of to add an extra dimension to the costume. With a little bit of brainstorming and some creativity, you can make a Halloween costume for your kids (and for you, too) at the last minute. It will also be something that no one else will have since you made it yourself. Since Halloween is only once a year, it makes sense to create something with your own two hands than to spend tons of money on a commercial made costume that you'll only wear once.

Kids of all ages enjoy doing Easter crafts. Working on a craft is an excellent way to have some fun, while adding a creative touch to the holiday season.

An easy and fun craft to make is a jelly bean carrot. For this craft you will need some orange jelly beans, a clear, disposable icing bag, Easter grass and a twist tie or rubber band. Fill the icing bag with the jelly beans. Make sure that you leave enough room at the top so that you can close the bag with the rubber band or twist tie. However, before you close the bag at the top, add some of the grass. Then, you will want to close the bag at the top. Make sure that you get the grass, so that it won't fall out. When you are finished, you can tie a small ribbon around the top of the carrot. You then have a decorative carrot that you can share with family and friends.

Another quick and easy craft is bunny ears. For this craft you will need a white poster board, pink construction paper, scissors, pencil, glue and tape or a stapler. To begin, you will want to cut a 2 inch wide and 24 inch long strip of poster board. Next, you will want to cut two bunny ears out of the poster board. The ears should be approximately 8 ½ by 3 ½. With the pink construction paper, you will want to cut out two smaller bunny ears. Then, glue the pink ears onto the white ears. Next, glue the ears to the inside of the band.
