Our close neighbours, NZ, have taken a liking to Coolibah Station and “Keeping up with the Joneses”. “We are looking forward to getting feedback when the show airs on National Geographic worldwide” Kelly Vrolyks, Marketing, Coolibah Air Helicopter Adventures. When asked about the success of their programs overseas Managing Director of WTFN, the production company that created Keeping up with the Joneses, Daryl Talbot says “We have an eye to what will work in the international market”.

Coolibah Air are looking forward to gaining international followers on our Facebook page and hope that fans of the show will be enticed to come to the Northern Territory to experience the dramatic landscapes, outback adventures and colourful characters of the Top End of Australia; as witnessed throughout the series.

Returned to Network TEN last night……Don’t miss the new episodes of Keeping up with the Joneses!

The Joneses are set to entertain us with another season of colourful characters, Outback adventure and dramatic Northern Territory landscapes.

The series returned to air last night; episode one kicking off with Milton packing up the station, along with wife Cristina and son Little Milton and the whole of the Coolibah crew as they head off for a weekend of competitions, rodeos and races at the Brunette camp draft.

The documentary team that has produced “Keeping up with the Joneses” wonderfully captures the Australian irony that underlies the conflict between man and the land, the contrast between good and bad seasons and the cynical acceptance of the ironies of fate.

Follow the daily lives of the Jones family as they muster cattle, fight fires, battle floods and tackle the various hardships and triumphs of day to day life on Coolibah Cattle Station, 600 km south-west of Darwin, Australia.
This raw and humorous snapshot of family life shows just what it takes to live in the outback all set against a dramatic backdrop that is a touristic postcard from the Top End of the Northern Territory.

Up and Away with “The Joneses”- Darwin Helicopter Flights launched

Last Wednesday Milton Jones and his family celebrated the successful launch of their tourism brands ‘NEW Darwin Scenic flights and heli-pad. The launch doubled as a promotional event for the re-airing of the hit reality series “Keeping up with the Joneses” and was well attended by industry. Tony Clementson, General Manager of Tourism Top End addressed the guests; “It is encouraging to see a local business invest in Tourism despite the industry facing a tough challenging tourism climate”. “This product is a great addition to the tourism experiences available in Darwin, particularly during the “Green Season” when the Top End looks exceptional from the air”

The marketing representative for Coolibah Air, Kelly Vrolyks, mentioned “The Darwin helipad facility will allow us to link in with all of our other bases across the Top End. “Coolibah Air can now tailor make charters or expeditions departing Darwin that can
include unforgettable visits to Indigenous rock art sites, Heli-fishing at some of the most remote and spectacular sites in Australia and trips to outback stations and pubs to meet remarkable & fascinating Aussie characters”.

A Two year deal has been secured between the production company that created “Keeping up with the Joneses” (WTFN) and National Geographic Channel which will see the hit series being aired in a number of countries round the world. The series will re-air in Australia on Network TEN around the 20^th of October.

“Keeping up with the Joneses” has been a huge hit in Australia revealing The Northern Territory as an exciting and fascinating destination; with a laid back lifestyle, nevertheless adventurous. “It’s no wonder city folk are envious of the Joneses and the stunning backdrops we Territorians call backyards” says Kelly. “The program showcases the dramatic landscapes, outback adventure and colourful characters the Northern Territory has to offer and will be a great drawcard for overseas tourists to come and experience our unique destination”.

Milton Jones and his family haven’t had the most untroubled year. Like many other NT businessmen, and their families, working within the cattle industry the recent Live Export Ban had considerable impact on the company. However Milton is known for his
entrepreneurial and hard-working nature which has seen him tackle this year obstacles with drive and a positive attitude. When asked about all of the exciting ventures happening within his company Milton replied in his trademark easy-going tone “Everything is all good”. “We have opened up our door to share our piece of paradise with the rest of Australia and the world. “Getting Coolibah Air up and running will now give anyone the opportunity to get a taste for our, what some folks would say, extraordinary
lifestyle”; but making ends meet and overcoming challenges in the Outback is always hard work “.

Keeping up with the Joneses and Coolibah Air

Coolibah Air, the tourism arm of North Australian Helicopters (as seen on observational documentary “Keeping up with the Joneses”) are now operating helicopter scenic flights out of Charles Darwin National Park, Darwin City. The Darwin Helicopter Pad is the newest edition to bases right across the Top End including Victoria River, Katherine and Adelaide River, Cape Crawford and Jabiru, Kakadu National Park.
The new inner-city heli-pad will be officially launched on the 21st of September in line with the re-airing of “Keeping up with the Joneses” on Network TEN. The series, produced by WTFN, re-commences around the 20th of October and internationally from the 1st of November after a two year deal was made with National Geographic Channel to show the program worldwide.
The park is a hidden gem and it is anticipated that the helipad will attract more visitation to the park’s facilities. People can visit the park before or after their heli-flight to see a fantastic view of Darwin’s cityscape and a World War II museum display.
Coolibah Air offers a range of flights to suit all budgets, and will package up heli-tours with other iconic experiences like the Adelaide River Jumping Crocodile Cruise, Crocosaurus Cove and Wetlands Cruise at Corroboree Billabong to name a few. Visit the park before or after your heli-flight to see a fantastic view of Darwin’s cityscape and a World War II museum display. The area was part of a network of World War II military sites established during the development of Darwin as Australia’s northern defence line.
