Our response to situations in our life is the very test of faith that cultivates endurance in our spirits. (James 1:2-3) That's why we need to accept trials and troubles with joy. We need to kinda puff up our chest and say, "I have Jesus Christ on my side, throw your worst at me, world." Knowing that with the help of the Holy Spirit, we will come out on the other side more refined and better equipped to be a light in a dark and dying world.

I recently found this mellow iTunes mix. Being a piano player, I really enjoyed Jon Foreman’s tune “My Love Goes Free” off of his Fall EP. If you haven’t checkout his seasonal EP albums, one for each season of the year, you definitely should.
Facebook, YouTube and Twitter are three of the big online communities where people gather to share information and experiences through text, video and images. Building relationships is a huge part of being successful in the social networking sector and harnessing the power of these new forms of communication. Through them, awareness of your message can grow exponentially.

Nowadays, people know when they are being sold something. I believe that this new generation of consumers, especially, can tell when someone is peddling something and trying to get them to buy. People want to be interested in something and follow it down the rabbit hole. They want to be engaged with a more authentic experience rather than an artifical sales pitch.

I love how these five points from Isaiah paint a picture of how God wants His people to act. I believe these are noteworthy because God sees fit to include the idea again, in the New Testament, giving particular emphasis to the last two on this list. In James 1:27 God tells us through His bond-servant James that, "Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world." Living successfully here on Earth, as Christians, is not a difficult thing to understand. The truth is clearly laid out before us in the Bible.

It's amazing how our whole way of thinking and our actions change when we know something is the last. As christians and as leaders, we need to live everyday as if it's our last. By that I mean, we need to take each day as serious as the last gulp of water on a hot day.

I have sometimes wonderd what Paul means by this. At first glance, it seems like Paul might be saying that we are to do anything to bring people to Christ. So, are we trying to be liked by everybody so they will somehow want to be a christian? Are we trying to be so relevant and cool we miss the point?

My overall thought about this article is that we, as leaders, must be sure that we are seeking God and His will for His people in our times of corporate worship. It really doesn't matter what things we do or don't do, Ps. 127:1 clearly states that unless God doesn't show up, it's all for nothing. Allow His spirit to lead you and you could stand on your head for 3 hours and people will be blessed (I'd sure like to be in that service).
