I hope the October demonstrations were effective and more citizens became aware that government regulation has been ineffective and purchased by the special interests who use law and process to maximize their profits.
So often, it is difficult to educate average Americans to the fact that law and regulation is influenced by those who want to profit from laws and regulations that always give them the edge over the average citizen.
While we are led to believe that "individual rights" are protected under The Constitution, our "commercial" individual rights are being taken away by the large corporations who insist on "arbitration" etc.. in their contracts with the American consumer.
Hopefully, this NEW Consumer agency will have TEETH and stop some of the exploitation of the individual consumers and laws and regulations will be reviewed (as per President Obama's EO) to determine if these laws and regulations are fair to the American public.
Please read "Franchise Regulation Realities "Deception or Patriotism" and my blog "http://thegreatfranchisingrobbery.blogspot.com/

I am just sorry I didn't hear about this simple system (I don't think you need any software) years ago. I will have my 15 yr mortgage paid off by the end of the year(less than seven years). I already pay off my cards monthly. As things stand, I wouldn't assume anything regarding the tax deductibility of home mortgages in the future especially for upper income earners. For jaay above. The Heloc will grow as the mortgage shrinks, but in my example, I expect to reduce the balance radically after the first is paid off by essentially using the same system. The interest rate on the HELOC is half of the first mortgage rate (another plus). As soon as you can rid yourself of your mortgage payments you can take more time off thus reducing your income and taxes possible by at least as much as your prior mortgage deduction.

I hate Mann Braken these dirt bags are self- serving. They never want to settle a debt and they are hard to get ahold of. They have 9% interst collecting on a debt that I have and they never include a monthly balance to let me know how much money I owe. When I tried to offer a settlement they claim they can't accept less than half.I just wish they would get shut down or go out of business.

Here they are again!! Calls starting up for Michael Grohner, and Laura Grohner (or Laura Mexico). If you're a collection agent and you have a telephone number who's last 4 digits start with 344X.... you're calling the WRONG person!! My last post was on this website 2/3/09, and here it is November, I've started receiving "absent number" and "unavailable" calls, today a message with an 800 number was left 800-947-2987 for cbcs ? collection agency. Either Michael and Laura Grohner are still out there using my phone number, or these people are calling a number which is over 10 years old, to people who have *obviously left the building* per say. They moved, they changed their number! Gone! Vamoosh! Happy Holidays everyone...

cheers....

Did someone call them scumbags!? That's much too high on the food chain. They've been robo-calling my phone number for months asking for someone who doesn't live here and never did but happens to have the same last name. When I call the number they leave and explain why I'm calling, they hang-up. They've done this every single time.

I've gone to their Web site to look for an e-mail address - none is given!! There is a phone number (240-386-3000) which also earns you a hangup from the receptionist when you explain the reason for your call.
I'm listed on the Do Not Call list; I'm assuming as bottom-feeders they don't have to abide by that. I've attempted to block their phone number with the *60 feature, but that doesn't work either.

So how does one stop this improper, unwanted intrusion and harassment? I'm interested in joining a class action suit against Mann-Bracken. There must be thousands of people who are indiscriminately and recklessly targeted because they have names similar to someone else and are in the same boat as I am. Any attorneys listening?

Lisa Sanchez called my father in-law stating that I am righting bad checks and that they were going to issue a warrent if I did not pay them. I called to find out what they were talking about and was told that I had to pay 600 in 2 hours or they would issue a warrent. I told them that the transaction they are refering to has been paid and that I have been disputting this since it wen ton my credit. So I faxed the reciept to them and she told me it was for a different transaction that I never even had with them. Theses people are in violation of the FDCPA and should be stopped. Call the Federal Trade Commission at 202 326 3222 and report them we need to get them shut down for good.
