I was lucky enough to hear Wes Wilson give a short talk at the Denver Art Museum earlier this year (along with Stanley Mouse and others), and it was amazing. His talk was so insightful, spirited and illuminating. I was surprised by how vibrant and lucid his I would highly recommend taking the opportunity to see him speak in person.

You still owe me $100 for the ad in OFFtheWALL™ - but since its been so long ago - and you're stressed like this - you can forget that with my blessing. I'm struggling too - the money is tight these days yes - but its always been tight for most artists I've ever known. You used to be so rich. What happened to all your money? Did it all go for medical expenses? Wow. Good luck!

Is this the Richard Fahrner who lived with his wife Cheryl and children on upper 24th St. in the late 60's? If so, I am curious as to his present whereabouts and doings.

My name is Michael Williams. I moved in next to Richard and Cheryl when my sister Cathleen vacated the storefront next to their apartment.

Hi Wes - have begun to matriculate in the poster world = it's been 18 years now since Rick Griffin was killed in that tragic accident. Can start looking at the stuff again.

How are you doing?

Me, i am working towards obtaining the funds to get hip joint replacement operations. Twas a passenger in a van accident Bud Plant was driving back in 1973. Impact points crushed the cartilage which then wore off at a faster rate over 30+ years - leaving bone on bone - quite a bit of pain involved.

In 2006 my hip joints blew out, leaving bone on bone, surgeon asked me if i was ever in a vehicle accident when looking at Xrays, i sais "yes", insurance company HMO Signa canceled policy citing "undisclosed pre-existing condition." Moral of lesson is never tell your doctor the truth as things stand in the medical insurance world of America.

Think anybody would buy something out of my ebay store to help me along?

Go http://stores.shop.ebay.com/BLB-COMICS

Got to raise $18,000 by mid Sept - have my task cut out for me

I knew Richard Fahrner pretty well too. I haven't heard his name in years. A character in my novel-in-progress is loosely based on him. He was one of those ephemeral people who are everywhere and nowhere and you never were quite sure exactly where he was. I helped him get a job at Now! Designs for a while. I think I have his tres cool wedding invitation somewhere. He taught me how to love a 1929 refrigerator with a its cooling stack on top. My gosh, Wes, you never know what you'll find on your blog.

Hi Sefra,

You've "found" Wes! This is his website. The article was written by Colin Brignall but posted by Wes Wilson -- it's explained in the introduction paragraph at the top of the post.

That's crazy that 60s poster art wasn't considered "academic" enough for your thesis. To each their own, I suppose...

Thanks for joining the conversation here at the website!

Talk soon,
aleah
