Upington does not benefit from the show. In fact it cost us, the citizens of Upington money to attend it. My question to you is where does the money go that is made during the show? Does it stay in Upington or does it leave the town with all the little stall owners. I know from person experience that only a few fat cats end up with the money generated by the shows ticket sales. I would not call the 2 tickets I asked for a pedestal but sure, make it sound like the thousand of rands I spend and hundreds of hours I wasted creating a free online directory for Upington as if I don't care for the town. The fees seen from a Tourism point of view is your only true point. I know it attracts some people from nearby towns and its difficult to deny the fact that it does have a positive effect. My husband was on the committee last year and he worked his fingers to the bone weeks before the Fees even started, so that people like you, who's only contribution is a blog, can enjoy the Fees.
