I use “video-compare-GUI-v1.0.3.3” to compare the quality!
I’ve tested many different settings and compared them with the tool,
8-bit or 10-bit, with and without strong-intra…..
With Main10 5.1 or Main 4.1 etc.
I find Main 4.1 CRF20 very good at 1080p in H265 8-bit, and the file size is also small.

My conclusion:
The setting Handbrake specifies for SuperHQ 1080p is very good.
This can, of course, vary from film to film!

Using these settings but swapped H265 10-bit to H265 10-bit Intel QSV in the Video Encoder. Using an Intel ARC A380 it is processing at ~1200 FPS

Was curious if could do a tutorial for Windows 10 vs Windows 11 using the H.264 NVEnc or different settings so the process takes the most advantage of your graphics card instead of the processor for converting Blu ray mkvs to H.264 1080P?

What would be the option for a DTS-MA track in order to get the best quality:size ratio?
Will there be any noticeable quality loss when choosing AAC over AC3? Thanks

Why would you want to use encoder level 5.1 here when max supported res is 1080p? You would want to be using 6.0-6.2.

i’ve been using these settings for awhile now for (dvd conversions), and once again, thank you for a well laid out guide. recently, one of the conversions came out quite bad, however. it is extremely washed out, losing nearly all of the red tones of the original. any idea why that might be, and is there a setting i could tweak to fix it? i can send details if needed.
