The first knownmigration of this stunning hymn to the West was in 1948, when the Yalke Russian Chorus learned it from the State Folk Song and Dance Ensemble of Georgia in 1968. (Both groups were staying at the same hotel in Budapest.) Since then, it has become famous all over ther world, as the first Georgian song many have ever heard.
