THANK YOU for including the Glenwood Sunday Market! We'll be indoors May 20 at The Glenwood Bar, 6962 N. Glenwood Ave., Chicago 60626. On June 3rd, our outdoor weekly Sunday market begins, still 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Thanks to all our farmers and prepared food vendors, volunteers, shoppers, and YOU!

Please amend the description in your handy Farmers' Market Locator, as follows:
"just WEST of the CTA Red Line Morse station on Glenwood Ave., between Morse and Lunt Aves in Chicago's Rogers Park neighborhood"

Tomato Mountain is looking for a few good people to work on a medium- to long-term basis (i.e., weeks or months, not necessarily just days) for farm work at their organic farm near Brooklyn WI, 30 minutes south of Madison, and about 2.5 hours from Chicago. Live-in available and encouraged. Check out our website, www.tomatomountain.com, for opportunities and email info@tomatomountain.com if you're interested. Be sure to include a phone number.

Jeff is right on . These are specially developed tomatoes. The research was done at the university of Fl. I love these and buy them at publix . I checked the website. . I noticed some variations in the tomato from publix. What I found was the ones grown buy red diamond farms are consistently better. I would recommend asking for the red diamond label. They are definitely the best of the growers.

I would like to recommend the CSA I support to the list - Gray Farms Produce of Watseka, IL. They use veganic methods and have 2 CSA drop-off locations, Oak Park and Ravenswood Manor, in addition to 3 farmer's markets in which they participate. http://grayfarmsproduce.com/wordpress/

Hello, thanks for your thoughtful articles. Could you write an article about organic produce being available and prioritized at these chicago farmers markets? I attend the green city market and am uncertain about which stands provide organc produce.

Thanks! Jamie

This is a great resource. Wish I could have it as an Android app! I agree with Katje though ... if I search for a specific city I get a hit, but that almost requires prior knowledge of a market. Sometimes the closest market to one's neighborhood is in the next suburb. A person in Lombard may wish to know about the Villa Park French Market (Sunday), the Yorktown Mall Farmers Market (Wednesday), and the Downers Grove Farmers Market (Saturday). Searching by zip or by map would be very helpful.

This search isn't working for me... I have no way to narrow down a large area. Is there any way to just feed the data into a map so I could just get a visual on which markets are closest? And yes, I know I could do this in Google Maps, but if you guys do it and post it, other people might benefit. Just an idea, thanks for rounding this info up in one place!
