Strikes a chord as Mum in hospital in Oxfordshire England right now and wants to come home but social worker might lead decision making to put her in residential home. How do I give £100 to nuns’ care to assist?

So it should not be up to civilian fire brigades to clean up after military blundering. The “Military” ought to be extinguishing these fires, as exercises in Firefighting. They do have firefighting equipment, and should use it. Why must hard pressed local government force the council tax payers to finance military bungles? How many military planners and officers should be Court Martialed for this negligence?

This is bound to happen when a country has elected people looking after huge sums of money, without any check on their capabilities. Take into consideration the increasing corruption in the country and impotent Ministers only bothered about their own image rather than governance.
True, other countries have elected heads looking after governance, but one cannot compare the Swiss strive for perfection and their personal characteristics with the British. We need to remember that Britain ruled over an Empire that spanned the world, but. all of them, independent today, are among the most corrupt countries in the world, who fed up and tired of their dishonest rulers, try and migrate to Britain. Secondly while the percentage that vote a Council in Britain to power boasts about 40% voters of the electorate, in Switzerland there is a massive turnout

The only way out of a corrupt Britain and thus a failing country, is to put respective Parliamentarians as Council heads with capable, well paid people who are qualified as their staff. This is to ensure accountability, while the Councils are a power unto. themselves and accountable to no one till it is too late. Or the country will sink into a deeper morass at the cost of honest and hard working Brits who do not want to join the government, calling it corrupt and inefficient

I’m sorry, but this is very poor journalism. Have you looked at the article? There is NOTHING in the article to link this cow or this tooth with west Wales. In fact all it shows is that the animal involved was eating a grass based diet for part of the year and woodland plants or fodder in another part of the year. The authors of the article specifically warn against over-interpreting the results of the study and say that the work should not be assumed to show long-distance cattle migration or movement. If the animal ever did graze in an area of ancient rocks, that could just as well have been the Mendips, or Devon or Cornwall. The press release from BGS is a travesty — it appears quite unrelated to the contents of the article, and is largely speculation. The quotes from the “experts” in the original press release are wildly fanciful.

the jokes write themselves, good food hasnt been owned by BBC since 2018, so yes unnamed RAI journalist, you are in fact not as good as the BBC. You would hope that a journalist would check who to criticise if they are going to make a statement.

Great stuff. His approach is solid. The outline lists 3 of what I consider the four major components of great putting: “correct line (putter’s choice), controlling speed (putter’s pace), and accurately reading greens (slope + speed!). When most people talk about reading greens, they mostly identify the *slope*–which indicates the direction the putt will break. But EQUALLY important is having a feel for green *speed*, because that determines *how much* the putt will break for any given slope. (A slow green may not break much, even with a steep slope!)

It turns out that there *is* a way to develop that feel, by taking the right *feedback* from each and every putt you make. Because there are always two questions to answer: “Did I have the right line?”, and “Did I have the right pace?”. The answers determine *which* adjustments to make, and *how much*. I think the great putters do that–whether consciously or instinctively. Once I figured out what they were doing, I wrote it up in a book (Comprehensive Keys to the Green).
