Don't know if this helps any but here are the stats from my Garmin Forerunner 305 GPS Fitness Trainer.

Total Distance: 4.45 miles
Total Time: 2:51:51
Avg Pace: 38:39/mile
Avg Speed: 1.6 mph
Max Speed: 6.0 mph
Total Calories: 488 cal (http://oahuhiking.com estimates an 860 cal burn)
Avg Heart Rate 142 bpm
Max Heart Rate 176 bpm
Total Ascent: 2778 ft

Based on these numbers and looking back at my running training, the calorie burn matches up closer to the distance than the time.

Evelyn,

One of the best things about cycling versus running (for instance) although swimming is even better is that it's very easy on the joints. I've had 100 mile rides I've not done all that well with but been able to go back to work the next day with nothing but a little soreness (at least the next day). The same day as the metric century I was at the Geek Meet at Ala Moana Park with no ill effects, and back at work the next week.

But of course, it's not the full century, just 62 miles.

That sounds like such a long journey but it also sounds like fun! Um, what was your recovery time like after the race was over? Just wondering. :)

The thought of getting a bike has entered my mind more and more recently!

Ryan! you gotta strive to be better without beating yourself up everyday!
Even if you've only moved a millimeter forward from yesterday, it's still a millimeter. Celebrate it! :D

and happy friday, too! :)

fight the funk! :D
i think falling out of routine once in a while is normal! Just don't start regretting whatever activity it was that you did instead of working out. It's all about making time for what's worth time, and always enjoying every moment of it ;D
