I was called with such an NRA poll this afternoon. When I told the woman that I was staunchly pro-gun control and my wife, an ex-member of the NRA, was totally disgusted by the positions and tactics of the NRA, I was then informed that I wasn't going to actually take the poll, but rather listen to a tape describing the U.N.'s attempt to ban guns in the United States. I then went into a bit of a rant. A huge rant, actually. I realize that the pollster/propaganeer was most likely just some kid trying to earn her college tuition or get enough money to pay for some minimal health insurance. But, if you call me on a Saturday afternoon and try to feed me bullshit, you'd better be ready to have the plate thrown back in your face.

On Ubuntu I solved this problem by creating a symbolic link to the cert_overide.txt file in the firefox default profile directory from the prism default profile directory.

$cd /home/user/.prism/something.default
$ln -s /home/user/.mozilla/firefox/something.default/cert_overide.txt

There may be some cross-ocean confusion in terms. VLE is the favored acronym in the UK while LMS is favored here in the US. Part of this may lie in the UK favored meaning of LMS to refer to a library system. Similarly, we used to call WebCT a CMS for Course Management System until too many confused it with CMS for Content Management System.

I think of VLE and LMS as being roughly equivalent.

Thank you for putting into words what I've been struggling with for some time. I knew BB9 wasn't (and shouldn't claim to be) a Web 2.0 system / tool / VLE / LMS / PLN / etc, but hadn't thought any more about it.

Big question; do you consider BB an LMS or VLE .. and is there a difference?

David.

Found a node with 4 of these files. Stopped the node, renamed the files to have .old at the end, and started up the node. It started fine so I've deleted the files. #1 and #3 confirmed.

#2 sorta confirmedOnly thing checked in the JDBC Diagnostics is "Profile Connection Leak":
Connection Leak (PROFILE_TYPE_CONN_LEAK_STR)

Enable connection leak profiling to collect information about threads that have reserved a connection from the data source and the connection leaked (was not properly returned to the pool of connections). This profile information can help determine which applications are not properly closing JDBC connections. The record contains the following information:

PoolName - name of the data source to which this connection belongs

ID - connection ID

User - stack trace of the thread waiting for the connection

Timestamp - time stamp showing when the connection leak was detected
Source: Monitoring WebLogic JDBC Resources
