I love these fiction stories ma Sha Allah. As a revert I'm really drawn to the way Darius/Darwish describes his impression of Muslim people and countries. We're waiting for the next instalment at our place. Jazak Allahu khairan

Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullah

How can the principle of non inheritance among different religion be respected, when one has non muslim relatives in non muslim countries?

A muslim can avoid to accept his share of inheritance, but he/she cannot stop his/her non muslim relatives to inherit, due to the state's law ..

I also haven't yet understood how I can't inherit from my father, and I have to leave everything to my non muslim sister and her non muslim family... What's the benefit?

I have struggled to find an answer to these questions.is there any way to understand the logic of that principle, which cannot be reciprocal in non muslim conutries?

Jazaka Allahu khairan

Lol agree with you Bint Ari :)

The story seems to be taking a depressing direction... but is reflecting the reality of life which is necessary.
Life ain't a bunch of roses no matter how much we hope it to be. I liked the description of the orange bellbird. Very poignant.

Also I understand now about the prev. cliffhanger. It needed an entire chapter to explain! Kinda also reflects life innit? we're so impatient to find out what happens next but patience will make the whole story worthwhile :)

Will try to be more patient moving forward Insha Allah

wa'alaykum as salaam,

Ditto to what everyone else said. I thoroughly enjoy learning about the lands and peoples that I've never visited.

I'm worried about Darius...I don't want him to lose someone else plus Weili is an amazing person.

I'm all for Happily Ever After! (hint, hint)

Hmm, I might have to have a talk with my son about these “frenemies.”

Brother Wael, I continue to be amazed by how naturally you transport the reader into another place and time. The yurts, the endless grasslands, Samarkand and Bukhara, the mountain villages - it all felt alive to me.

The moment that affected me most was actually quite a quiet one: Darius hearing the adhan echo across cities where Islam is simply the fabric of daily life. I found myself unexpectedly emotional reading that. As a Muslim in the West, I too yearn for that feeling of spiritual belonging.

I really don’t know how I feel about Kuangren. I laughed far more than I probably should have during the wedding sequence. But who knows, maybe his bride will shape him up.

I think you've captured something bittersweet about Darius at that age. Physically and situationally he's an adult, but emotionally he's a child in some ways. Please don't break his heart too badly.

May Allah bless your writing.
