Thanks Atheisth, you are right. I have always had a problem with K.I.S.S.ing something, but why worry about bigger things until it is actually off the ground to begin with?

It’s amazing how saturated our culture is with the creation fantasy. I know that it is stereotypical for an athiest to look down at religious zealotry, but I do. It drives me crazy that otherwise intelligent and successful people can so easily embrace such idiocy and call it their “spiritual foundation”. Only the willfull dismissal of the obvious could allow for this.

Good luck in your search for other like minded people. I live in a tiny little town on the west coast. The area is populated with dairy farms, churches and bars. Here most everyone claims to be deeply christian… on sunday morning…saturday night they’re out fighting in bars, screwing cows and beating their wives, heh. I don’t dare discuss my personal beliefs at work because I would literally be fired.

Hey look, I just followed you AND I’m posting on your blog (pixelsnake)
Anyway, just wanted to say nice post!
I love twitter because it is better than both forums and IM in my opinion. Forums can sometimes feel a bit formal and hard to break into as a new person, big introductions and trying to get in with the ‘cool kids’ etc. On the other hand I don’t even use an IM client any more because I hated people jumping on me and wanting to talk constantly for hours. Also why I mostly avoid the phone. With twitter, you can just hop right on and follow someone, say a quick ‘Hi!’ as a greeting and get to know them ‘naturally’ as you find things in common. You can have fast IM like chats but you are also free to walk away at any point and come back at any point too.
It’s a very free kind of social networking
