Thanks for such a good post.
What is the downside of using auto recognize feature? i feel we might end up changing the names of each and every attrbute and fact. becuase, ususally database columns will be wierd format. like prd_status for Product Status.

Is there any solution for this problem?

yes, feature limited version (still quite rich) of MicroStrategy 9 is available free of cost. Download and deply in 2 weeks. Use free online/telephonic technical support too. Telephonic support is limited to one months, I believe.

Is it really free? ive got an small enterprise and i use analysis services 2000 and excel 2003 to show my reports, can i change my front-end to this free microstrategy version costless?

I need information on new features added in MSTR 9 as against MSTR 8 for reporting and administration. It would be of a great help if i can get that and if you made any documentation on the same.
