18/20 What a great exercise! I’ve never noticed the subtle between the two. Helvetica is a noticeable polished font. I too had trouble with the Mattel Logo and the Target logo. I couldn’t tell the difference in all caps logos.

For what it’s worth, I was the first reporter from Iowa to interview Dr. Borlaug in Mexico after he won the Nobel Prize and he, nice gentle man that he was, never forgot on other occasions when we met. I have slides, prints and a movie to prove it.

That Dash Express looks pretty nifty. Why didn’t I buy one of those? I love my Garmin, and the funny way that the but the traffic service is worthless. I’m not even going to renew the subscription when the 90-day trial runs out.

So has the East Coast been crossed off your itinerary? We have better pizza than you’ll get in Greenville, IL.

As you might imagine, my mind was elsewhere.

Time Machine was working fine (or so I thought), until I saw the date of the last full backup. I’m done with it, though. Gonna use SuperDuper on a nightly schedule from now one, with smart updates through the week, and a totally new backup every weekend.

Paranoid, but this is annoying crap that kept me up way too late last night.

So Time Machine is not good, huh? Mine updates a lot — almost to the point of slowing the machine down.

The BEST investment I ever made was in a $150 a year business computer policy — it has paid for Drive Savers at least three times.

Jenn says maybe you’ll come for lunch. I’d love to see ya.

I miss Vegas somedays. As a kid, I stayed at the Stratosphere (then known as Vegas World) quite often as my dad and grandpa were plumbers working there as it was being added on to. I was there the day Dan Koko jumped off of a scaffolding on the roof breaking the free-fall world record.Just a bit of history about the Stratosphere.

Jason, I’m bummed you didn’t make it to Toronado (or Mad Dog in the Fog, across the street). But don’t feel bad–Toronado is notable for its lack of signage. When I lived in SF, I often walked past it and had to double back. It’s just a nondescript green doorway. With the aroma of a lot of beer wafting out of it.

Found you through Plurk and what an amazing journey. Your pictures of the trip thus far are beautiful. I last traveled from NV to IN via a Greyhound bus 10 yrs ago. I’m sure things have changed much. If you feel up to a small detour between Vegas and Los Angeles right before you get to the state line, I’d be happy to show you a one-horse-town with some interesting history to it. This is really cool, Jason; the blogging reads great and the photos help make it seem real. I am getting the road jones again reading this.

I’ve never driven at Pike’s Peak or in heights that high that change that fast; it seemed like your altitude sickness set in pretty quick.
