Agree with Diane above -- I taught myself to crochet entirely from youtube videos a couple years ago and have become completely, uhhh, hooked! Am now working on teaching myself to knit the same way.

I even learned how to do paraplegic transfers (bed to wheelchair etc) after my dad had a stroke last summer, watching youtube videos! Well, of course, you have to use a grain of salt and consult a professional for something like that, but it was a good way to get a handle on the basics.

Just wanted to pop in and say a big THANK YOU for a neckwarmer pattern you published last January. I was looking for a cowl or scarflette to crochet up quick with some super bulky thick/thin handspun. Seeing your pattern sparked an inspiration and it was done and gorgeous, lickety split!

I also bought this app as a beginner and think it is great. It was perfect for getting me going especially when I don't have an internet connection with my ipod while on the road. It is perfect for the beginner and someone who has not been doing needlework for years. After seeing this review and then the others on itunes, I emailed them, they have several updates coming out in the next release.

It is amazing how people complain about something that is a great tool for others to learn from and it only cost $2.99. You would throw away more than that on a cup of coffee from starbucks.

Yes, the internet has lots more but the idea is that you dont always have it with you. I highly reccomend this program!

I bought this app. Not worth the money for the crochet. With both the iphone and itouch you can access youtube videos that are much more informative. The only stitches they show is the double crochet, single crochet and chain. Illustrations only. There are 2 crochet patterns, 2 knit patterns and 1 embroidery pattern.

This app had potential but does not follow through. I would not recommend
