i will have to send you my paper and see what you think.. i see where you're coming from but i have more questions for you:

how long should we try to prolong life?

where in your rubric do "liminal beings" belong? “Liminal beings” are defined as “new forms at the margins of life, beings that hover between life and death” like people who are severely demented or deeply comatose for long periods of time on a ventilator or things that are not dead but not fully alive like stem cells, DNA samples, frozen embryos, etc.

When does the physician withdraw care?

Is a Do-Not-Resissitate order the same as euthanasia?

Is all life sacred, or just conscious life?

are we just vehicles for our consciousness?

Where in your rubric is entropy?

i would also like to specify your critique of religion being an adversary. some more conservative religions are, and specifically you're mostly talking about the Catholic church. others have brought about great advances, like the liberal protestant christians coming out of the Congregational or Unitarian Universalist denom. or the process theologians who combine science and religion: see Alfred North Whitehead as an example.

i'll send you my paper. love to get your thoughts on it.

Great analysis on the status of technological development, and agreed, the more focus we place on the rapid advancement of science and technology, the better off we will be as a species, since at no point will our technology surpass our humanity. Technology, like you said, meets the demands of society, and as we develop, so must our technology be on par with our needs.

It is then quite likely that we will see our civilization's transition from a Type 0 to a Type 1, if we manage to surpass this turbulent phase we're in. We would be quite thankful if you took some time to take a look at some writings on this very subject http://www.type1civ.org/

I agree that not pursuing certain scientific and technological advances that might save millions of people, and future generations, from suffering from resolvable ailments would be irresponsible at best, and criminal at worst. It is our duty to make sure we skip over this period of unproductive squabble over mere semantics, and transcend to a stage of civilization, that honestly, we should have achieved long ago.

Thank you.

attribute your sources.

i think it's interesting.. but rather limited view. it's fine to start with a personal empowerment and self-awareness methodoloy.. but it's not fine to end there. if the only voice you're hearing is yours, then you're a sociopath. gotta be more to life than just you. life for others, yet have the wisdom to know your boundaries, and who is controlling you.

decent song.. be more impressed if it were yours.
