Our vacation we’re going on this weekend is also our anniversary gift to each other to refresh & strenthen our marriage. We are going to a marriage conference through Family Life http://www.familylife.com/site/c.dnJHKLNnFoG/b.5461135/k.B5B1/Conference_Details.htm . There won’t be too much free time, and we have to get back that Sunday to get our kids from friends to have them ready for school that next Monday. However, there is a scheduled date night for each couple, and we also searched nearby attractions to try and work in when/if time permits. We’re hoping to atleast be able to see the Tennessee Aquarium, and take an hour long train ride at a local train depot for just $14 a person. I’ve also been putting some money aside for awhile for this trip and have a fairly good amount of spending cash to surprise hubby with so we don’t have to worry on splurging on “us”.

I also just recently had this in the planning. Have to wait until we get back from our marriage conference through FamilyLife this weekend though, and possibly even after the holidays. I was shopping one day though, and found a very pretty picture frame with the paraphrased verse “Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres; Love never fails.”. Unfortunately we don’t have any pictures of just ourselves over the 16 years, which is very saddening, so I bought with the intention of scheduling us to have some pictures done of just us. You never know maybe there might even be another opportunity to have a wedding photo for our next anniversary, it would be nice anyhow!

My husband and I just did this! We wanted a new shot for our Christmas cards as well as for prints. I ordered one of the shots on canvas. I can’t wait to get it!

I would love some brand suggestions! My husband has a condition that totally eliminated his sense of smell, and he has limited taste. Sweet is one on of the flavors he can taste, so a sweet lip gloss would be a wonderful surprise for him. I have tried out different brands, but so far all I have found are glosses that smell delicious. Even the Burts Bees I bought yesterday that says “with a juicy fruit flavor” on the tube only smells great, but has no discernable taste. I’m away from my husband right now and would love for my welcome home kiss to be especially tasty

For probably 18 years we have used hand squeezes to say “I love you” privately. Three squeezes and then the other responds with 4 squeezes (to say “I love you too”). I got this from a marriage conference.

I hope this is acceptable to post on here, as I’m almost embarrased to post it, except for the fact that I know it might help hugely bless many husbands, as it does mine. During my monthly last month I was wanting to be intimate with my husband but of course couldn’t, but still very much wanted to express my love to him which I did in other ways. My DH very much enjoyed being the center of my affection for a whole week without him having to exert energy in satisfying me. The Holy Spirit impressed on me that our monthly was not meant to cause an intimate boundary but quite the opposite to draw us out of our everyday humdrum intimate routines and reignite the intimate passion each month and especially to give the wife a whole week to really have time to show reverence and love for her husband.

Don’t let the devil’s negative thoughts of your husband take hold! Learn to take each thought captive, as soon as you realize yourself having negative thoughts of your husband replace them with loving thoughts of him, focusing on his good qualities. I have even started to keep a daily “Things I love about My Husband” journal of things my wonderful husband has done that day that I cherished and was blessed by. It has truely helped me to see my husband, each day, as the blessing from Above to me!
