well i for one, can think of hundreds of uses besides casting for such a kiln. however, the guy up top is right. you have to first quantify what environmental variables you want to monitor, and then you have to engineer a sensor device, then you have to engineer an electronic response to different inputs from that device. id really actually love to try and figure out a way to do this! i think the biggest engineering stumbling block will be the probes, not sure if standards exist to where we could just buy probes for different things. i totally wanna make this happen

Thanks, Eileen. I sometimes teach casting but not very often (my day job gets in the way of doing much of that). These pieces, though, are pretty simple to put together if you have a kiln (or someone around you does).

I LOVE you sea slugs. The free form is really beautiful. I would love to try and do some as I have a lot of clear glass from circles. My problem is I don't have (and don't know what to get) to do the do the hot glass work.

Do you give classes? If so what do you charge. Where do you call home.

Hi Cynthia
I've been reading your comments on warm glass, reading your blog and
Enjoying your art....learning so much. I'm new to this...can you tell me if the glass squares/ shapes in the photo on this page are sitting on clear frit or clear glass.? I can't quite tell. What a terrific idea to use tape. I'm going to try it this weekend. Thanks.

Thanks for it all

Thank you Cynthia. Your writings helped me flounder through my first years in glass when I found it hard to decipher what was good information on various sites. I've also snooped around in the Techbiz section when I needed help. Although I don't know you (other than stealth reading your blog and friending you on FB) I want to thank you for your generosity. And your sense of humor is a kick. The information you share is always straightforward and trustworthy. Great stuff! Thanks.

I had the same childhood experience and have also been looking for YEARS for those wonderful hard buttons. It appears that Hershey bought the recipe and then stopped making them. I just discovered this hard licorice by accident. I was checking out at Home Goods and there they were,, on a little rotating display. Needless to say I bought them all and then came home, found them on Amazon, and bought 16 more bags. ...just in case they decide to stop making them again. THEY ARE VERY EXPENSIVE THO....VERY!
