“We had porn when I was a kid, back in the 20th Century, and we didn’t have problems! Why the big fuss, today???”
Believe it or not, that is a quote from a man I talked to before one of my SEX, KIDS, & THE INTERNET Seminars. I don’t believe the gentleman is alone in that viewpoint, either. It is difficult for many of us to understand the far more destructive and addictive nature of 21st Century pornography when compared to what many of us “grew up” with.
Therefore,if we wish to impact our culture for Christ in this area then we need to understand how much more damaging 21st Century porn is compared to any other time in our history. To solidify that understanding let’s take a journey through:
THE 6 DANGERS OF 21st CENTURY PORN!!!

Online dating is a fast growing way for folks to connect. In fact, 20% of marriages since 2010 have been started online. So, how should Christians approach this new social scene?

In Fiddler on the Roof, they used “matchmakers” to find a spouse. Those still exist, but they are few and expensive (your mother and aunts do not count). So, what is a Christian Single to do? How are you going to meet someone that you might want to spend the rest of your life with?
Well, before you consider trolling bars, clubs, and the like (and there are Christians who do go down that route) make sure that you read my blog post, DATE LIKE YOU FISH! NO…REALLY!
Now with that is out of the way let’s look at a new, 21st Century method of meeting MR./MISS RIGHT (as opposed to Mr./Miss Right Now!)
Let’s take a look at ONLINE DATING!

Recently I was chatting with a friend who struggles with pornography addiction. He was telling me about how things had been going well for quite a while but that, for the last couple of weeks, it felt like he had just been bombarded with temptations. He was standing strong, but was afraid that the “fiery darts” would wear him down.
Then it hit me:
HE’S PLAYING DEFENSE AND NEEDS TO SWITCH TO OFFENSE!!!!
How do you do that?
EASY!

As I mentioned in my post on ROKU, many folks are firing the cable company and going to just Internet TV services such as NETFLIX, HULU & HULU PLUS.
These are great services but, just like Cable TV, they are not without areas of concern for parents who wish to protect kids from inappropriate material.
Let’s take at look at: HULU PLUS!

It’s Thursday night. The kids are finally down. You and your spouse catch each other’s eyes. You lock the front door, take each other’s hands, and go back to your bedroom, or settle on the couch, for some much-needed romance. Shortly after things really get going you hear one of your children go:
“MOMMY…DADDY!!! What are ya’ll DOING??????”
You’ve just been BUSTED by one or more of the kids!!!
Now what???

Tethering.
To most parents, that conjures up the image of those harness/leash ensembles that parents use on toddlers when they take them shopping!
Today, though, tethering is the ability of a smart phone or tablet to act as a WiFi “hot spot”, just like at Starbucks or Panera Bread. It is very handy (especially when traveling) but needs to be understood by parents who are trying to protect kids from online porn and other inappropriate materials.
Let’s take a look.

Have you fired your cable company lately? Many people are either shifting from traditional cable TV service to Internet-based streaming services such as NETFLIX and HULU+, or they are supplementing their cable services with these new technologies.
A popular device that enables access to hundreds of programs is called: ROKU
Now, this is a great product, but it is not without some (manageable) risks. What do you need to know before turning your family loose with Roku?
