Your words so true, so very true. I have been "charmed" by Agile - it allows us designers to work in a way that gives us freedom (at last).

I'm a firm believer in the fact that the user is god we as designers make the call (because we have the best understanding of such things) but if you cannot re-iterate it's all going to end in tears....

This is why Agile is a beautiful thing - it allows us to get feedback, TAKE feedback (which is the very key to being a good interaction designer), and re-iterate. Even if it means scrapping the entire concept. The beauty is you have something more than assumption to base your amazing user experience on..

You are however correct in the matter of ironing (my least favourite task - a shirt just "goes into shape" when I wear it...)

This however, is the very nature of being in UX.
You're an advocate, a defender, a lover and a fighter.
At this point in time, we have to "sell" what we do. It sucks anus, but it in a way makes us masters of what we do. Because in the future, our craft will respected, before "making it pretty".

Eeks - must end rant (apologies)
