Generally, any mattress not containing springs (ie. foam, latex, etc) does not require a box-spring. In fact, foam type mattresses are sold with or recommended for use with a platform style bed. This is a bed that has either a larger solid platform (like plywood) or a series of wood slats that support the mattress. Alternatively, if you have this style of mattress (it sounds like you do) you could place sheets of 3/4" plywood over your existing box-spring and lay the mattress over that. These types of mattresses were designed for solid foundations.

A "box spring" isn't a spring at all. Just tear the mesh off the bottom of an old one and see for yourself. As near as I can tell, its just a way for the bedding companies to get more money out of you. All I've ever used is a standard steel bed frame on wheels with 3/4" plywood reinforced with 1"x4"s. A good mattress on top and you're good to go.

I have fancied up my plywood base by wrapping it in some pretty material, stapled on the underside.

If you only have a mattress then all you need under it is something solid. You can probably modify your bed for the mattress without a box spring.

If you are putting it on top of the bed frame without a box spring, you need a board that is cut to fit the frame so the mattress can lay on it. Or, you can find a European style bed frame. Those beds do not use box springs. They have wood slats instead.

We had the same problem, with an air bed. No box spring. IKEA has frames that are made for different types of mattresses. We went there and found a European style frame and got a board cut to fit it, at Lowe's (Home Depot, Menards do the same thing) You bring them the size you need, and they will cut it for you.

After the board is secure inside the bed frame, you can put your mattress on top of it. It will be lower than if you had a box spring but it looks trendy that way.

With our air bed, the frame did have wood slats but it wasn't solid enough so we put the wood right on top of them and then the mattress, and now it is perfect.

If you zoom in on the image, it says Beautyrest Classic. So, you can search for other Simmons Beautyrest Classic mattresses online to find one that’s similar.

I think it looks like the Beautyrest Classic Mercer Park Plush Pillow Top Mattress:
http://www.gomattresses.com/beautyrest-classic-mercer-park-plush-pillow-top-mattress/l/2681

When I had a look at the details, they were basically the same. The price for just the mattress is $100 less on GoMattresses.com and includes free shipping.

You have a double or full size mattress, but it seems to be extra deep. What you need to buy are fitted full size sheets for extra deep mattresses. Try looking here:

ALL stores in the US that sell linens do. it's almost impossible to find standard ones anymore. I'll guess it's the same over there. Have you bothered to look yet?

Choose very carefully because I got stuck with a mattress and had to pay $300 to return it after it was defective. I recommend going with someone with a better return policy like Saatva, just in case. After I returned my old simmons mattress, I looked very carefully at return policies before choosing saatva.
