fma seems to be bashed on alot.. yea it is main stream and everyone watches it but it was a serise from a while ago (early 2000’s) and the story line isnt all bad i like it but i dont only watch mainstream anime like i think alot of people who watch this show do. i think that most people that watch this anime dont really watch alot of other anime and they just watch it on adult swim just like blood+ and bleach and stuff like that. I see what you mean by its full of fillers and doesnt have alot acton. But the fillers are needed to fill in the plot. True that they could of just made early episodes but i think that it was intended so that you would try to get connected with the characters. But i think that it has a good story line and that most syfi anime fan would love this show. im not a die hard full metal alchemist fan but i dont think that its so bad that everyone should bash on it for some flaws that most animes have.

First off, I want to say thank you. I had been having a terrible day and listening to this podcast made me happy. Okay, so that was a super long podcast. That was pretty nice because it’s been such a long time since you had an episode.

The things you said about the cosplayers really made me laugh. I think you guys should go to a convention, I want to know what it’s like. I kind of want to go to one but I’m a little afraid to.

I agree that Ponyo was a cute character but I didn’t feel as connected as you. Maybe because Noah Cyrus played her. I really wish they hadn’t gotten mini Disney stars to play the characters.

The end of your podcast made me smile. It was nice to hear you guys paired up to make a podcast. They are definitely better when it’s the two of you. I can’t wait for more podcasts. Keep it up.

Good to hear you again, especially Luis. Great episode, really interesting. Some time ago I was wondering if I should pick Kaiba, now it’s like I don’t have a choice. And when Alex said something like “Ponyo is the cutest little goldfish”… my head just exploded into candy. Also I’d like to ask if you consider reviewing Toradora on the podcast. I finished re-watching it just a few days ago and I have to say it’s one of the best shows of the past few years. If you like Clannad go watch Toradora, it’s better. I hope that you’ll be releasing new episodes more often. Right now your show is the only one anime related podcast I listen to (maybe besides Onii-chan no Ecchi, lol) and it kind of sucks when you give your fans like two episodes in a year.

Ya thats right ya gotta admit that its a bit annoying when you want to watch something awsome and then find out that there is heaps of ecchi( soft porn) in it. But we got to face reality, in japan anime is made for EVERYONE!!! That includes 7yrs up to like, theres so many age groups that i cant rember. Manga is a bit more orgnised because it has different kinds of manga theres Manga for boys, girls, childern and adults.

Oosran, we actually used a 10 point rating system early on, but I think the 5 star rating system is better because it leaves room for interpretation. People get easily offended with the 10 point system (they think 5 is horrible) so for our purposes 5 star is much better suited.

I’ve also seen half of D.Gray-man, up to episode 45 I think but I have it on hold.

Anyway, I’ve been planning to watch both of these two. And I’m still planning to do so,
probably will watch the Sky Crawlers before Soul Eater, since I think next, I’m gonna watch something a little shorter than the last anime I watched. (which is D.Gray-man, 103 episodes of epic : D except for a little filler in the middle that’s a bit out of place..) oh actually.. I’ve got to see ep 100-103 before I’ve completed it : 3

also i agree with kelly. if you didn’t like it, why would you research information on it? why did you find a picture of some doofus cosplaying FMA? why would you go to the trouble of going to a forum entitled FMA and then yell it out to the millions of people it is now visible to and force your own opinions on others, even those who haven’t even watched it. sounds like somebody is a lonely nerd with no life. i was shocked when i found this article because if you think FMA’s plot is poorly thought out, then you have a real problem. if you actually watch the episodes closely again back to back i can guarantee that you will think twice about what you posted. tsktsktsk.

this is obviously coming from a guy who only watches anime for the fight scenes and obviously is a moron with no tastes. this show isn’t quite an action packed show. if you are looking for action look somewhere else. its an emotional show based mostly on flashbacks and clever story telling. It just has such a good balance of humour, plot and character development and drama. thats what makes it so addicting. also if you don’t like it then just don’t watch it, don’t scream it out on the internet pretending you know something about it. that just proves how immature you are. Also the picture you put is a totally obscene representative of FMA watchers. i mean its just a retarded guy with a yellow wig and fake red contacts! theres tons of other anime out there with a cosplay fanbase, that doesn’t prove that the anime is bad. when you say the show is overrated, you barely stated any facts. simply obviously biased opinions from a person who either wasn’t thinking/paying attention at all when watching this show or didn’t even watch it and said a bunch of nonsense

I haven’t read all the comments, well because ther’s a lot. But anyway I am a fan of FMA. I enjoyed it to the very end and didn’t get bored with it. I liked all the characters and thought they were made well. I also enjoy Ouran High School Host Club but my friend hates it. What I’m saying is, everyone has their own opinion. Allyou people that are saying things like ‘anyone who hates FMA sucks’ are, I don’t want to say it but, stupid. Especially with how your writing these comments. Seriously, no one will take you seriuosly when your extending words like this comment ‘ANYONE AND I REPEAT EEVVEERRYYOONNEE WHO HATES FULL METAL ALCHEMIST SSSUUUUUCCCKKKSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!’ Doing that makes you seem very immature. I understand that some people don’t like FMA. If a thirteen year old can, I don’t see why you other people can’t.

Yeah i’m a female (straight) so I’m not into fanservice.
But I will admit that I will go all fangirly over my favorite male characters when I see them do something cool.

I do think it’s kind of wrong that the makers of anime think that everyone just watches their anime for the fanservice. It’s so bad that I rarely even notice it anymore.

And hasn’t anyone noticed that the most(emphasis) epic anime usually are really serious and have very little or no fanservice.

Spend that time earning money, gaining a skill, volunteering, or getting to know a real girl.

Incidentally, if your girl knows that you need sex a lot more than she does, why would she object? It’s not like it is painful (in most cases). Real girls should put out for their men, anytime. Real men should do likewise for their women, but that’s not as much of a problem, usually (though there are sexually-frustrated wives too!)

Totally agree with this review. I haven’t seen all of FMA, why would I want to waste 20+ hours of my life watching such a bad anime?

Can’t stand whiny, 15 year old protagonists, or sidekicks with the the voice of a 4 year old girl. Can’t stand pointless episodes that serve only to fill in time and plots that end in 20 minutes.

Can’t stand stupid protagonists that don’t use their powers intelligently. Why the fuck does he always make a dagger/sword instead of a gun like the bad guys? Sorry, but guns aren’t “evil,” the sword is only to suck in wapanese preteens who think swords are cool.

Kudos to you. FMA is extremely overated. The plot became so complex to a point that it imploded in on itself. The main characters are both stereotypical, angsty-hot headed youth and the quiet reflective sidekick. The only thing different is the brotherly bond, thats it. The art is not jaw droppingly spectacular and the music quiet frankly sucks. These fans are going nuts defending Edward and Al. I hate to break it to them, Ed is a piece of paper.

Personally, I like fanservice. It’s harmless fun and much more healthy for society than its cinematic equivalent (i.e. female butt shots on NYPD Blue).

Look, heterosexual guys like looking at women – even drawings of women. There’s nothing wrong with that and in my opinion, looking at cartoon women in compromising positions (i.e. in the shower or showing me parts of her body that a woman wouldn’t show me outside of a relationship), then I’d much rather have that given me via a drawing than through soft porn magazines like GQ or Maxim, where REAL women are PAID to become sex objects.

I’m verry sorry, but i am going to have to agree with the other comments here. This anime is kick ass. I laughed and cried so many times. I dont know how you couldnt of smiled becaused most parts made me crack up. Perhaps because i read the manga i love it so much.

“It was glorious watching Kotoko get shutdown over and over again.” … What kind of sadist jerk are you?? Thats horrible, and the worst part. Yes i agree that Kotokos unrequited love can get on your nervs, but that is just too cruel.

Also, about the animation. I feel nothing is wrong with it. I’ve seen much worse animes. Have you ever read the manga. The drawings are very hard to bear. So the animes drawings are actually a relief. Do you know how hard it is to make an anime that is good looking, yet still resembles and keeps the essance of the not-so-good drawings of the manga? … And the story is so good that you can still look pass the art. That is how incredable Itazaru na kiss is!

I have to agree with what LOVE this anime!!! said in her comment. You must be a man Because there is no way a girl could dislike Itazaru na kiss. It is just way to romantic! Just go back to watchin your action dick flicks.

You just piss me off because You hate this anime talking like you could make an anime better. Go make one then you can talk sayng how bad the animation is. Do you have any idea how to make one? OMG!! Did someone pay you to said such a terrible thing about this anime?!!? Itazura na kiss is one of the best anime I watch in my life. It’s heartwarming, funny, and the seiyus fit the characters perfectly (I LOVE KOTOKO’S VOICE). I beginning to suspect if you even waTCH THIS ANIME.

That is soooo not correct!!!

Itazura is a great anime!!! They worked really hard to make it look as beautiful as it is, because if you read the manga is hard to even get through a couple of pages >_<

I think what makes this series great is how the characters are easy to relate to.
Even if dont have nice animation like Hayao it doesnt really matter in this type of story line and animation. The creators are keeping it true to the manga style. And trying to make Itazura something grand and colorful isn’t needed.

It stands prefectly well , with it great story and loveable characters.

I think shooting it down for how it looks and sounds its harsh and I say anyone who is a ROMANTIC SHOULD WATCH THIS SERIES!!! Its great!!

I’ve cried a many, because its so touching. :3
