No where in this article did I say "Cockatiels can't talk." I said that they weren't known for being chatter boxes. Do a little research and compare that 5-8 words to, say, the vocabulary of an African Gray or other parrots and then come back and tell me all about my BS ;)

Cockatiels aren't known for full sentences and continuous chattering, small words and very short phrases in a very "blurry," sort of voice mixed with whistles and churps. They aren't super-clear speakers.

Reading and researching before commenting is awesome!

Thanks, Nikki!

Aion was indeed a great game to whittle away the time. Though admittedly, the grind was a bit too much like the usual I could find from a free to play game and really gets to you at higher levels.

I don't play Aion anymore, but I'd still recommend it to people looking for something to do that isn't WoW!

Good Review and as a WoW Player, if you're looking for something different, Aion is the place = ), Its not perfect(No MMO is) but it awesome.

Today has been a hard day for me, as well as for many with a history similair to mone. A history a loty of people will never know, and will never under stand. To top it off, yesterday we buried another hero in Calgary that died too young!

I bawled like a baby yesterday, and you made me bawl like one again today!! Thanks! You're a brat!!

Sometinmes it shard to remember the old vets, and those that aren't so old. WE all remember, sometimes longer and more detailed then we'd like and more then we can ever share with those around us!

That was a very, very well written story, Princess. No shame in not remembering the gentleman. The only thing that I will ever ask of you, is; When I get to the point that I don't remember who or what you are, Please remember me, what I am, and what I did. It would be nice if some of the things you remembered of me were good. That's assuming that I've actually done anything good.
Love you, Princess

"1. The religious, and most especially the evangelical types, actually do believe they are better than everyone else. This belief is the driving force behind the actual practice of evangelism; to spread your “truth” as you see it to everyone else, because they are misguided and wrong. The irony has always been that you’ll oppress, supress, and kill all those who are different to spread the truth of Christian Love."

This is wrong, I'm sorry some Christians have come across to you like that, but that belief is wrong. A Christian who suppress, oppress, and kills all who believe different haven't actually read really read what Christ is saying and is instead using him as an excuse to hate others. In the Bible it says extremely clearly not to discriminate and do violence.

"2. Race isn’t a choice, and racial identity is as much a part of biology as eye color or average body build. These things are part of the human animal. All animals naturally prefer the company of their own kind, and this includes people. Does this mean all people believe the same? Of course not, any more than all religious factions wave their arms in the air and rock for Jesus. However this is the group I was specifically talking about in this case. So yes, it is accurate, and highly inaccurate of you to compare race and race preferences to which made-up fairy tale you believe in."

You're misinterpreting my point, or perhaps I didn't explain well enough. I was referring to how people as a group tend to stereotype groups based on extreme examples of that group. Some other examples, very few people who play video games are violent in real life, not all blacks are lazy, very few Muslims are violent jihadists, not all Americans are fat, not all French are cowardly, not every Asian is good at math, there are very few completely unethical Atheists, and there are very few Christians who stand around waving hate signs at funerals and wanting to kill or hurt non-believers. There are not very many Christians that you are describing like that out there and you were using that small group to describe all evangelicals, which is what I was trying to clear that up a little bit.

I would really prefer to not get into an argument about this, I've tried, nothing happens; everyone is to set in their ways and the internet is too impersonal for anything to change. However, I will try to clear anything up that I've said.

Peace.

Dave,

Yes, sir. Thank you. That is, a lot more succinctly than I stated it, exactly what I was trying to say. I stand by what I've said a dozen times or more: I love the idea of Linux, and of Windows having some real competition. I love the open source aspect of it all. I would happily support it... if the damn thing just worked. Heck, I had far fewer problems installing WinME and that OS sucked.

Thanks, again, Dave. Just be warned, soon you'll have people telling you to "Please, never use Linux again" and that "they don't need you," and all sorts of sundry "We're better than you" comments.

I'll just go play Dragon Age on my Win7 PC which hasn't crashed one since install and runs essentially every app I throw at it.

I'm not quite as uninformed on the subject as you might believe. I will say that your argument has a couple of big holes in it, though.

1. The religious, and most especially the evangelical types, actually do believe they are better than everyone else.
"In your face, door-to-door evangelism to spread the viral meme that religion has become. This is the Rockin’ for Jesus crowd. These are the people waving their hands in the air while listening to bad 80s rock about fairy tales. The people that hold up signs about god killing soldiers because we don’t stone homosexuals; these are evangelicals."

I'm afraid you are slightly misinformed on this. While there are Christians that do this they are an extremely small minority. Using this to describe all Evangelical Christians would be like saying all white people believe themselves to be superior to non-whites and would physically harm non-whites if given the chance; some people do believe this yes, but the number of white people that actually believe and do these things are extremely small compared to the group as a whole. Same thing with Evangelicals and those that you are describing.

I just wanted to try to clear things up a little bit.

There's two issues here. Linazis, who really annoy me, and the fact that in 2009 any OS should run stably from installation.

I have tried 9 Linux installation disks on 3 machines and none run stably. Am I computer noob? Well, I used to write hacks for Amiga libraries so I guess not. Linux does not run out of the box and all other OSs do. If you have to edit files just to get a system to run more than 8 minutes you are talking about a useless operating system. Read on.

Let's get to Linazi's. These guys (there are no women) seem to be autistic or stuck in a Piagetian stage of learning comparable to a 3 year old. They don't seem to understand that people have a different world view from them. Some people really don't give a fuck about the internal workings of Linux, they just want to do what they can with any other OS, run applications. That thought doesn't occur to a Linazi. Linux - it just doesn't work, unless you become a slave to it.
