RAmos W9 was announced a month ago, and at that time we almost knew nothing about it, except that It’s powered by Rockchip’s newly launched Android enable chip RK2818. Now the mystery of this device has been unveiled. It’s prototype arrived at pconline, so we could have a roughly look of it. W9 gets a white chassis, and a bit of Apple style was not difficult to seen. It gets a 7-inch display, and runs Android 2.1 OS. It’s also said that it supports 720p videos, coming with a HDMI port. But other information like its storage, price and launch time is still no where to find.

Ramos Miumiu T8-3D is another PMP that supports 3D without glasses

A week ago we ever reported Rockchip’s device Supernova X1 that supports 3D without classes. Now we just heard that Ramos was going to bring a PMP called Miumiu T8-3D based on Rockchip’s 3D solution that’s been applied on Supernova X1 to the market. Miumiu T8-3D shares the same design with T8 PMP, coming with a 4.3 inches 800 *480 resistive touchscreen. Ramos might present this device at the upcoming IFA2010. Still no information about its price and launch time, but we expected more information to be unveiled at IFA.

Havon to sell ebooks on a 40-inch ‘Eletronic Bookshelf’ machine

Where to buy these ebooks? For most people the answer definitely are websites through personal computer or ebook readers.Just some clicks with a browser and traditional bookstores are no longer necessary. But Hanvon is surprisingly still trying to provide a way that’s kind of traditional for people to buy ebooks. The company announced today it’s going to bring a ebook selling machine which they called ‘Eletronic Bookshelf’ to sell ebooks this year.These machines, 1.5 meters in height, with a 40-inches touchscreen, would located in places like metro stations for people to download and preview ebooks. No doubt these odd ‘Eletronic Bookshelf’ are just computers with a big size screen with internet connectivity, and the UI looks very similar to iBook. We really don’t see any reason people to use them in nowadays.

Chuwi P9 is a 10.1-inch PMP

4 months ago I ever made a predict in a post about Ainol’s 8 inches P810 PMP, in which I said we didn’t need to wait too long to see 10.1 inches portable media players from Chinese manufacturer. Now this predict has become reality. Chuwi today announced to bring a 10.1 inches PMP P9 with resolutions of 1024*600, thought we are not very sure whether we should still call it ‘PMP’. Obviously such a big size is no longer portable.The design looks very clean with all buttons located on sides. It supports 1080p, able to display AVI, MP4, MOV, RM, RMVB, TS, MKV videos, with a HDMI port and USB OTG. Besides it’s said it comes with a ebook reader and could support several ebook formats. Still no word about price and launch time.

Rockchip launches Android-enable chip RK2818 that supports Android 2.1

Rockchip officially launched its new generation Android platform RK2818. This chip features a 660MHZ ARM+dsp+GPU three-core processor, and is MID and phones. It supports Android 2.1, promising good performance on video that it support 720p videos,Flash, and HTML5 Video.The devices based on it could support up to 512MB RAM, and 800×480, 800×600, 1024×600 screen resolutions. It also comes with a 3G module to provide 3G connectivity that includes TD-SCDMA, WCDMA, CDMA2000 EVDO for options. In fact this is not the first time we heard about this chip. Before this official announcement, we’ve heard some manufacturers were going to bring RK2818 chip based product, like Ramos W9, and izinn cj-3 Android phone.

First MTK platform Android handset spotted, runs Android 2.1

If you want to talk about Shanzhai, you could never ignore the name MTK, whose phone chips enable Shanzhai players to make phones very easily. Until this March MTK chips were only seem on nonsmartphones. In March, the company launched Windows Mobile enable chip MT6516, as the first step to enter smartphone solutions market.

On Jul 12, MTK announced to join the Open Handset Alliance, showing the company’s decision to enter Android phone market. Now only a few weeks pasted, Chinese website MobileUncle has spotted an Android phone that’s based on MTK MT6516 chip at a Shenzhen Shanzhai phone mall. The phone is called T3333a, and looks similar to HTC Touch2. It runs Android 2.1, bringing with 256MB RAM, 512 MB ROM, and dual sim support. It’s still a prototype, and still no information about its other specs, as well as launch time.

Window N6 Android 2.1 Tablet based on RK2818

Window just announced to bring RK2816 based N5 portable media player to the market, and now it seems that the company’s another new Android device N6 will be follow soon. September, they said, according to the company. Window N6 will be based on a 1.0GHz Rockchip RK2818 chip, and would run Android 2.1. It’s said the company would provide Android 2.2 update firmware in the future. The device will get 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity. The design seemingly looks like N5, and It would gets a trackball for navigation. Other information is still unveiled.

Hanvon E800 8-inch ebook reader

Chinese manufacturer Hanvon announced a new ebook reader E800, which comes with a 8-inch 1024*768 E-ink display. It’s the first time Hanvon brings such a big size e-reader. The device is based on Freescale’s i.MX51 platform that’s based on a ARM Cortex A-8 CPU. It runs Windows CE OS, and brings 128 MB RAM, 512 MB ROM, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a mini USB port. It will be shipped with a 4GB MicroSD card, which you can expand to 32GB. What’s more, it also provides Wi-Fi connectivity.

In fact it’s not the first time we knew this product exist. Back in April, Chinese website mobread.com has published a set of pictures of Hanvon E800. Compared to the picture Hanvon showed recently, they look almost the same,except the location of Hanvon’s logo.

Currently we still don’t know the price and launch time.

Window N5 Android PMP priced at 699 Yuan

Shenzhen Window company’s upcoming N5 is an Android powered portable media player. The Android OS promise that, besides audio and videos, you can play thousandths of Apps from Android market on it. Still not confirmed, but it’s almost sure that Window N5 is based on Rockchip’s RK2816 chip that’s design for PMPs. If so, it also means the device will lack Wi-Fi, which you might expect eagerly for a PMP. Which version of Android it runs still stays unkown. We are only told that It gets 5 inches 800*480 display, and that its 8GB version will sell for 699 Yuan ($104 USD). No launch time specified.

A clear picture of Meizu M9 from J.Wong

Meizu got known to the word for cloning iPhone. The company also have similar marketing strategy as Apple. It has been able to keep the industry buzzing about its product long enough before the product could really arrive at the market. Like the M9, people has been discussing it nearly about a year. Two months ago Meizu’s CEO J.Wong ever showed two pictures of the phone. The pictures are very blur, but still exciting enough to Meizu fanboys that gathered in Meizu’s official forum. Today J.Wong gave out another picture of phone. Unlike the previous tow, this one is very very clear, but sadly according to J.Wong the UI was Photoshop work.
