We are connecting with pool managers at facilities in the area to find time for us to be able to play outdoor again this summer, which was very popular. We will update everyone as soon as we have a deal finalized.

Tournament recap
We will be posting game results from the 2nd Annual Lake Erie Classic this week. It was an all around success. We had a total of 10 teams, making our tournament larger than last year, with teams traveling from as far as Atlanta.We sold nearly 60 t-shirts (1 XL left), with proceeds going to our club. There were lots of snacks courtesy of Shami's family. People had good, clean fun after Saturday's games.

First game of the tournament on Saturday is 10 a.m. (note for volunteers who will need to arrive early)

Volunteers Needed for USA Water Polo East/West Championships

CWPC Board Member Maura Dickinson is part of the host committee that is bringing the USA Water Polo girls 2013 East/West Championships to Northeast Ohio March 15-17. This is a great opportunity to support our region's growing water polo community by volunteering at the tournament.

Games take place from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Saturday and 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. on Sunday. Volunteers are needed to staff the scorers tables.

CWPC Leadership Updates

CWPC Members and Friends,

This December we re-organized our club, electing a new group of five directors. At the first quarterly meeting, held, Sunday, Feb. 17, the directors elected club officers for a one-year term as specified in our byelaws. For 2013, they are:

Kasi David, President

Steve Trow, Vice President (non-director)

Wade Weber, Treasurer

Brendon Friesen, Secretary

Maura Dickinson and Kevin Ziegler are voting directors

This means there will be a transition and expansion of duties and leadership roles, which will benefit our club. A few specific areas of focus:

Masters Program Quality: Kasi will take on the primary leadership role for the club which will include shaping our competitive approach (practice structure and tournament entries) with input from Steve Trow and the directors.

Water Polo Development: Led by Maura and Kasi, we are exploring opportunities to develop or enhance water polo programs at area colleges and high schools.

Member Communications: Kevin will continue to manage clevelandwaterpolo.com and our other communications channels.

Administration: Wade and Brendon are continuing to evaluate and manage administrative priorities such as budgeting and risk management.

As the board continues to evaluate opportunities to improve our club, we will continue to seek your input. We all share a commitment to water polo in Cleveland, and we are looking forward to a productive year.

CWPC Returns from Cincinnati 2-2

The team traveled to the 6th Annual Nutty Invitational hosted by Ohio Squirrels and returned with wins against Central Michigan and Ball State. The team fell to Vanderbilt and Ohio State. Coach Kasi says team defense was a bright spot and it got progressively better throughout the weekend.
