We are having a number of things going on in the city. September 15th & 16th the large cedar tree on the corner of 96th & Skidmore will be taken down. The arborists will be working until 3pm each day and we have others coming in after 3pm and probably the following few days, to haul out all of the wood. The week of September 20th, Portland Water Bureau will be working on our fire hydrants. Not only are they working on them, they are relocating a few along the berm on Maywood Place. Tentatively (providing it doesn’t rain), 96th St at Skidmore is being dug up and patched, September 24th. Due to all the work being done at this intersection, for the safety of all, this intersection will be closed. There is no need for “thru traffic” as everyone in that area has an alternative route they can take. We ask that everyone, especially walkers, use an alternative route. While it may be “interesting to watch”, it is very dangerous to be close to the tree cutting. The branches are large and heavy and very dangerous to be near while being cut and lowered to the ground. Lastly, when all of the above is completed, we will be having the curb along the berm on Maywood Place painted red and made a fire lane. There will be intermittent open parking spaces along this area. The open spaces will be “permit parking” from dusk to dawn.
