We had a great Saturday playing in the rain!!! Memo and I decided to forgo the work because of the rain and just go play!! We did a drive up to Peralta Trialhead and played in the washes. We had Memo's big truck so it was easy to cross even when they were flowing.

For Memo's Birthday I got him tickets to a concert.. now this wasn't just any concert. This was Joan Sebastian (no not Bach) He is a mexican singer who rides his horses while he is singing. It was INCREDIBLE. these horses were leaping and dancing and Joan was singing away on top. VERY impressive! If you ever get a chance to go... even if you don't speak spanish, GO!

Well I finally talked Nicole into trying to ride english. Our resident wild gyhmkhana rider took the seat and.... SUPRISE- both Jasar and Nicole looked incredible- as you can see! Hmmmmm maybe we can talk her into working towards a show in the fall???!!!

Well the other morning memo and I decided to go see the auction down in Chandler to see about a saddle.... bad move on our part. First off, I won't name the auction because it was a HORRIBLE place. The people running it were downright nasty to the animals. Don't get me wrong I do understand that not everyone treats their animals as we do BUT they don't need to be mean to them either.

We were over there and ended up staying with for the horses... somehow or another my hand ended up raising with my numbe rin it and I found myself the new owner of a 6 year old registered Quarter horse. Quickie is his name and he has great breeding up both sides. He was found in a repossesed home. The owners had left and left him behind. He is skinny and not very trusting but he's coming around.

Memo went home to get the trailer and I called him to say "bring a second halter" yep my hand found the air again and I bought a Burro. In my defence we only paid $10.00 for him!!!!

we named him Chimichanga.

Well it's been a couple weeks ago, but we had a FABULOUS ladies ride up to Mammoth http://www.goldfieldghosttown.com/ the other weekend. A group of us GIRLS ONLY took the trip up to enjoy a burger on the deck and enjoy the great music and good burgers. We had a great time and our newest boarders all got to meet and greet.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CARLITA!!!!

This past Saturday the 21st we had a fabulous party rental in the town. This was for the 3rd borthday of Carlita! The kids all had a blast playing games, riding the pony and just generally being kids!!

Here they are playing the baloon game. They have to try and pop the balloon off of everyone's foot without letting anyone pop theirs. It was a blast watching the little ones chasing each other. Some even tried to pop their own at first!!

This is the quick draw contest. They have to squirt out the flame the fastest. Funny part was they all ended up on top of the flame by the time they squirted it out. (even though we started them behind a line) This game seemed to be a favorite!!

Mom, Memo and I got to sneak away to LA for a few days. We took Nanny over to spend a few days with Aunt Karen and Uncle Bill- It turned into a great couple of days. Not only was it great to see our cousins and family, but we had the chance to spend the day at Universal Studios. It was a BLAST!!!

So while Memo and Alonso played in Nogales my Mom and I went to the Scottsdale Arabian Show http://www.scottsdaleshow.com/ . This show in a phenominal horse show that brings the best animals from all over the world. I am not an Arab fan but you can't help but marvel at their beauty! Here are just a few pics from it. It was fun because we saw a lot of our boarders and friends there as well.

This weekend was a travel weekend for the horses. Memo and Alonso took Mark and Zowie down to Nogales Arizona for our niece's birthday. They had a great time and people that NEVER ride horses actually got up on them. They all got to spend the night and had a BLAST!

Our poor horses are freezing their tails off! It has been 2 full days of rain and COLD- ok... cold for us. Last night the wind was howling and wow was it chilly!!! The temperature gauge this morning said it was 34 degrees at 6:00!!! The mountain behind us has been covered in clouds but it peaked out this morning!! Check it out!

We(Alonso, Memo and I) spent this Saturday with my brother Dan and the girls at the Ren Fair. It was supposed to rain but it held off. It was a great day and we had a blast. It's always fun to make believe!!

Our new trail course

Since I have not been allowed to ride our horses, Memo and I have been working on a trail course on the back property. Yesterday we spent the day playing on it with our boys and Milo.

Our course consists now of a jump, a mailbox, lots of logs laid out to step over, a tarp on the ground to walk into and then we fold it up onto the horse and best of all, a teeter tauter. It is a great way to build confidence of both the horse and the rider.

Ok, I have been REALLY bad about posting... well a lot has happened in the time... obviously the holidays have come and gone and with it lots of fun stuff. Let me re-cap:

Memo and I went on a cruise.... WAY FUN!

Came home from the cruise and had a full knee replacement surgery- NOT FUN

Christmas- WAY FUN- we had ALonso the ehitre two weeks so it was GREAT!

New Years- WAY FUN- party in the town with friends.. who could ask for a better way to start the new years!

My dad came to visit for 2 weeks- WAY FUN- went to Barrett Jackson, toured down to Thombstone... just all in all had a GREAT time.

Ok, that would be a quick recap of life! Now we are back to normal and I will be better at keeping it up.

MAGGIE'S BIRTHDAY!!!

One of the boarders, Maggie had a great Birthday on Sunday- she is only 25 of course!!! Maggie and her family own Cinnamon.

We all went for a trail ride... even all their kids, using a couple of our horses to fill in the blanks. mary looked tiny on bug Niki and Matthew(poor kid) had to ride Zowie. we all had a blast.. .ok maybe not Matthew(he fell off when Zowie jumped the trial ride bars) But it was a good day and fun ride! We need more Birthdays out there to have more fun!! I think Maggie just wanted the Birthday so she had an excuse to drink a Margarita at Los Gringos Locos afterwards!!

We all decided to go over to the rodeo grounds and compete in the Gyhmkhana. It was a blast. It was the first time Joe and Diane got the chance to compete. Considering we were all riding horses that don't normally do that sort of thing I think we all did quite well. None of us fell off, so that's a good thing! Nicole did really well and actuallyplaced second in a couple of the classes. We did get her to lighten up and she took big ole Niki in the flag race. It was quite a site to see and she almost couldn't reach down and get the flag out of the bucket, Niki was too tall! It was a fun day and a good time.

I know it is a few weeks past but I have been really bad at getting to it! Lots has happened since our last post... we'll just start with the Halloween Party. We had a GREAT time. LOTS of kids, I'd say about 100 of them. We had tons of games and pony rides. Our haunted hayride went over so well we ended up taking 7 trips! I don't know what I would have doen without Liz and Lili.... they were life savers! Memo's mom made tamales... but they never made it out to the party! He stole them in the house and stashed them!

It was so much fun and such a success we are thinking of new and exciting things for next year already!

As some of you know we rescued Milo from a slaughterhouse Amish auction last year. When we got him he was a bit tweaked to say the least. But we knew there was something special about him. We have brought him in and let him be a horse to try and get his life back. He has his days, but all in all he is coming along well. We did some digging and found out he was a World Grand Champion many times over. He basically was pushed so hard he lost it. It was kind of sad really. You can see in his eyes that he truly wants to please and wants to be loved. Here are some pics, past and present of him! The one picture is actually an add from a magazine where they were putting him out to stud.
