Stamps.com For Multichannel Selling

A New Way To Import eBay Listings To FaceBook & It's FREE!

eBay DSR & Top Rated Seller Working?

As eBay sellers we've been tossed upside down with DSR ratings and now the Top-rated seller stuff... and eBay just keeps rolling out more 'seller responsibility' guidelines.

We all do our best to comply and keep reaching for the stars... but is it working?

The other day I took off my 'seller' hat and decided to 'buy' something on eBay.

I have an old Canon camera and wanted to see if it still worked. Because the camera was made in the 1980's I assumed the battery size would be hard to find - so my first thought: eBay.

So, off to eBay I go... first I had to sort through all the stuff sold from China. I want to support the USA sellers as much as possible.

That narrowed it down to just a few.....

And I have to tell you I was a little surprised to come across this item description from a seller:

"Duracell 6 volts (6volts) Alkaline Battery pile alcaline 6 V. Sometimes package is little damage but sealed. Also if we are out of Lifthium battery and we will ship Alkaline battery. So, Please don't complaint. Alkaline Battery Exp. Date is 2013 or more. Lifthium batt Exp date is 2011 or longer. "

Highlighting is mine - OK, so - I decided not to 'complaint' and bid on another auction FROM A DIFFERENT SELLER.

I won it - wooo hoo, well, except this is the email I received.....

I blocked out the email address- but the seller wanted me to send the paypal payment to an email address other than the one connected with eBay account and in the fine print he tells me he's not going to send me the Duracell battery I won in the auction, but a non branded type.

I'd have to say - as a buyer I'm having a 'bad buyer experience' and will go look at the local Bartell Drug store for the battery.

As a seller - I have to wonder, why I'm trying so hard.
