Hello beautiful souls,

I realized that this year will be my first holiday away from home and it got me reflecting on all the craziness of the season.

All we see at this time of year are stores filled with holiday decorations, commercials showing perfect, happy families eating elaborate meals, and all these signs around us that are cheery and bright.

I have to be honest, year after year I really struggled with the holiday season. I am sure many of you can relate…

From being stressed about money and fulfilling obligations to feeling sick for weeks after from eating badly to dealing with all those crazy family relationships to feeling lonely (as I have been single for years). STRESSSSSSSSSS, AHHHHHHH!!!

I know I am not the only one. I think more people than not are super stressed during this time.

The last couple of years I have been doing a great job of de-stressing and really loving the holidays so I KNOW there is a solution and that you can too.

Elizabeth Grant and I are teaming up to bring you tons of great strategies to thrive this holiday season.

Love Cindy

One of the things I hear from people that completely confuses them is “I set an intention. Things got worse. Does Law of Attraction Really Work?”

In a nutshell, when you set an intention, anything that is not in vibrational harmony with your goal is going to come up and bite you in the ass. It is your opportunity to face the ‘monster’ or obstacle that is in your way once and for all. So instead of seeing it as “Law of attraction doesn’t work.” See it is as “ooo it is working. I now can deal with what is
blocking me from getting what I want. Yahoo.”

I made this video in Toronto a couple of weeks ago while shivering my toushy off to give you some insights. I also shared a little freaky, borderline dangerous, something that happened to me when I set an intention.

So next time you set an intention and some ‘monsters’ come up, ask yourself, “How can I see this as an opportunity? What steps can I take to really break through? What am I willing to let go of?”

Love, Cindy

We always hear people say, “You can’t run away from your problems. You have to face them.” Considering I wrote the book, Kiss Your Monsters Goodbye, I tend to agree. BUT interestingly enough I have discovered that sometimes running away from your monsters can be a good thing!

If you are running away consciously, CHOOSING to work through your issues and then coming back when you are stronger and ready to face them, it may be exactly what you need.

Here is my story of ‘running away’ and how it has changed my life for the better:

For so many years I was doing the spiritual work and breaking through my limiting patterns but no matter what I did, I just always seemed to be stuck. Nothing seemed to flow. I couldn’t seem to get my head above water. I kept asking the universe for guidance. I kept getting signs that I was supposed to move from my hometown of Toronto, Canada. I resisted because I felt it would be running away.

A couple of years ago, I finally listened and started on my journey to move to California. When I immigrated down here almost 8 months ago, I set the intention that I would continue to have breakthroughs. Being separated from all the negative voices from back home, I finally had the peace to just be free and be me - authentically. Ever since then I have been kissing monsters on such deep and profound levels as I was no longer competing with my challenging environment.

I finally went back to Toronto for Canadian Thanksgiving and was delighted to discover that the changes I made since I had left, were permanent. None of the old patterns came creeping in and if they did, it was momentarily and I was able to release it quickly. I found myself able to handle everything that came my way with such love and peace as I had completely dealt with my monsters before I arrived.

What I have learned from this experience is that when we walk away from our monsters and do so with the conscious intent of healing, we can gain perspective from another angle as we are no longer stuck in the challenge or the pain. We can see it more clearly and the sting of our triggers dull, allowing us to release it on a deeper level.

So if you are going to run away, make sure you do so with the focus of giving yourself the space you need to heal, prosper and grow.

Love Cindy

P.S. Running away BTW does not mean you have to move to another country like I did. It could mean simply removing yourself from a negative situation.

Yesterday I went for my yearly hospital visit to get all my testing done for my heart. I encountered 2 situations that I just had to share with you for a little inspiration and reflection. Oh and in case you didn’t know why I was there, I was born with heart failure and a 20% chance of living and then underwent 3 heart surgeries by age 14. I have been stable and healthy now for 15 years and pain free 5. Yesterday was just a routine check up.

“Don’t You Put Your Limiting Beliefs on Me!”

Here is the conversation during my echocardiagram:

“so you must be having the following symptoms….”
I cut her off “no I feel great.”
“but there is a gap in heart…”
cut her off again “I feel healthier and have more energy then anyone I know”
“I wish” (with a tone of ‘i feel sorry for you that you are so delusional’ at which point I am thinking ‘no I feel sorry for you’)

So the tests show that ‘apparently’ I still have major problems but stable (like I have been for 15 years). But of course they say “I think we need a CAT scan to make sure.” Grrrr. Anyways I refused to do it for this year but when they scheduled me for next they stuck it in there. Time will tell if I actually let them do it.

Lesson: Just because someone puts limitations on you, does NOT mean you have to agree to them. And just because some test labels you as something, does NOT mean you can’t rise above and create a new reality. Reflect today on what limitations have been put on you and how you have chosen to believe them. Now decide to create a new reality and let go of the how. Just know anything is possible.

“Have You Missed Your Wake Up Call?”

In the elevator leaving the hospital, this man tells me had a heart attack, died and came back. So I say, “What a blessing. You must have made some changes to your lifestyle since.” He says, “Nope. Same old, same old.” Upon furthering questioning, he had not altered his diet, exercise, stress levels, behavior, nothing.

After spending almost half my life in a hospital, dying a couple of times and living in chronic pain for 29 of my 34 years of life on this planet, I understand deeply how precious our life is. And now I must admit for years I would get angry with people who abused their bodies, especially because I was suffering so much at the time. I had to learn to have compassion, knowing that deep down that these people didn’t love themselves enough to take good care of themselves.

Lesson: I believe we ALL get ‘wake up’ calls. Mine was a series of them since birth. This man’s was his heart attack but he simply failed to listen.

We are given guidance and signs all the time. Even when they seem tragic, like a heart attack, they are the universe pushing us to grow into our greater, more divine selves. And I do believe that we get lots of little signs along the way. If we continue to ignore them, then the big ‘wake up’ calls come.

Stop today and reflect on what signs the universe is giving you.

A giant challenge that so many of us deal with is the ‘body image’ monster. Whether a size 1 or 42, so many have been ‘brainwashed’ to believe that their worth is determined by their looks.

I know people who curse being a size 1 because people don’t take them seriously because they are so small to people like me who at 15 was a size 3 but self mutilating because I hated my ‘fat’ thighs to people who are overweight who think they aren’t beautiful because of it.

Really what it comes down to is that we are ALL beautiful, amazing and imperfectly perfect. We come from a divine source, so how can we be anything less?

Through the years I had major body image issues… Now many of you will look at me and say “OMG she is skinny, what is her problem?” The point is that you can have body image issues regardless of size. How you look does not determine what you feel inside.

In the past 15 years, I learned to be able to look at myself in the mirror, finally wore a bathing suit in public, allowed people to see my scars from heart surgeries and so on. Now I had kissed the majority of that monster goodbye but as I discovered recently there was a little residue still left over.

When I saw this issue creeping up in the last few months when I gained a whole 2 inches of fat (note the sarcasm), I was surprised. It was a great opportunity for me to love myself at deeper level. I encourage everyone dealing with monsters to not deny them but take away their power but fully embracing them. So here I am in this video actually showing you the fat I gained. No I was not entirely comfortable doing it (as you will see in the video) BUT breaking through fears often is not. You just have to do it and then watch what gets released in your life. It is so freeing to embrace and accept.

As a side note… I was flu-like for a week and half prior and suddenly after filming this video, I got completely healed… what you resists persists.

Know you have the courage within to kiss your monsters goodbye and that you are perfect NO MATTER WHAT. Your divinity is NOT dependent on your weight.

In this video I share an experience I had a couple of weeks ago which made me really reflect on why we have so much conflict in the world. It was a great reminder that world peace starts with us.

We have conflict in ourselves, our relationships, work and the world around us when we feel broken inside. We must love and accept ourselves fully for ALL our parts — good and bad –and when we do, we will no longer need to be right about everything. We will no longer fight with ourselves and others because our ego needs to be satisfied. We will no longer feel threatened by those who have difference opinions and ways of living. We will love, honor and accept others for who they are. And then the magic happens…conflict dissolves.

As a side note, we absolutely should have opinions and need to in order to make good decisions for ourselves. It is when we decide that our opinions are the ONLY way is when it comes from ego and creates conflict.

Please share your opinions and thoughts and how we can create more peace within ourselves and the world. The more of us that join in the conversation and taking action, the closer we will be to making this planet the magnificent place it was meant to live in.

Okay people I am excited! I have a new show officially launching soon on “The Women’s Information Network” called Cindy Ashton’s Monster-Kissing Secrets… shhhh!

In this episode, I had a blast jumping in my jacuzzi with Actor/Singer/Model Jay Bradley and interviewing him about how he took the risk of leaving behind his stable and prosperous lifestyle to move to another country and live his passion. Find out his #1 monster-kissing secret to take that leap.

Jay was just a pleasure to speak with - very insightful, warm, engaging and um… can I say totally adorable?

Here is the episode:

In the interview Jay mentioned that each of us are worthy to live our dreams. So many people don’t take the risk to live their passions because they don’t feel like they are enough or worthy.

Last month I was blessed to have interviewed Dr. Joe Rubino, who is one of the world’s foremost experts on self esteem. He is truly the master and his depth of knowledge and resources are incredible. If the self esteem monster is stopping you from living your passions, I invite you to check him out HERE and get your FREE AUDIO: 7 steps to soaring self esteem.

And remember… you are worthy to live your dreams!

Love ya, Cindy

A huge amount of people hold this belief that if you are helping others or doing what you love, you should not make money and so they are blocked from receiving wealth in all ways.

Last night I watched Barbara Padilla sing “Ave Maria” by Bach on America’s Got Talent. All I can say is GOD EXPRESSING.

Each of us come from a divine source (whatever you define that to be) and therefore have all the power within us to express our greatest, most amazing selves.

Barbara is an amazing example of someone who had major obstacles in her way, as I like to call them ‘monsters,’ and yet she fought back to express herself and live her dreams. She had cancer and because of the chemo and radiation, doctor’s said she may never be able to sing again. And now look at her. What an inspiration!

We all have that power within us to be a courageous warrior as Barbara is.

As Marianne Williamson says:
