86 brave Randonneurs defied the cold, rain and even hail, for 200km along the Serra de Tramuntana.

¡This was a hard stage, which managed to finish 74 cyclists!

Remember that these tests are individual and each of the riders must finish the stage without outside help.

Tramuntanaontheroad.com es una SITE basada en la plataforma tecnológica Freevel (freevel.com) específicamente desarrollada para proyectar el destino Tramuntana como destino turístico cicloturista. Se trata de un proyecto TIC único, pionero y referente global en la valorización de destinos turísticos en el ámbito del turismo activo.

La Serra de Tramuntana

La Serra de Tramuntana, Patrimonio Mundial de la UNESCO, es un enclave único para la práctica de deportes como el senderismo y el cicloturismo. Desde el pueblo de Andratx hasta Pollença, en el norte de la isla, la Serra de Tramuntana acoge kilómetros y kilómetros de sinuosas carreteras que unen los pueblos de la Serra.

Todas las carreteras se caracterizan por enlazar subidas y bajadas continuas muy atractivas y entretenidas para los cicloturistas.

Rutas y Puertos

En tramuntanaontheroad.com hemos querido identificar, clasificar y mostrar todos los puertos/subidas que se pueden realizar en la Serra de Tramuntana. Hemos incluido también otras subidas de otras zonas del Pla de Mallorca que igualmente pueden ser de interés del cicloturista.

Gracias a la tecnología de geolocalización podemos identificar sobre el mapa todos los puertos con su distancia y desnivel. Hemos identificado alrededor de 60 puertos de montaña de diversa dificultad.

La plataforma sobre la que se basa Tramuntanaontheroad.com permite visualizar los puertos también a través de Google Streetview y GoogleEarth (requiere instalación de plug-in).

Además, gracias a la genunina tecnología del Geovideo (desarrollada por obex.es) se pueden ver videos geoposicionados (grabados en moto) de todas las subidas de la Serra de Tramuntana.

Por si no fuera suficientemente atractivo, hemos querido ir más allá de los puertos en sí y por ello hemos incluido en la SITE una gran variedad de rutas circulares (inicio y fin desde el mismo lugar).

Sobre Tramantanaontheroad.com se proyectan alrededor de 4000kms de rutas geoposicionadas que inicio y fin en las zonas más habituales de alojamiento de cicloturistas (PalmaNova, Palma, Playa de Palma – Arenal, Port d’Alcúdia y Cala Millor).

En el detalle de cada uno de los puertos de montaña hemos identificado las rutas que pasan por ellos. Del mismo modo, en cada una de las rutas publicadas se identifica el itinerario y los puertos que se escalan.

Oferta Complementaria

Entendiendo que el repositorio de rutas y puertos puede ser del interés del cicloturista para la planificación de su viaje a Mallorca, hemos querido habilitar la posibilidad de activar toda la oferta complementaria específicamente enfocada al cicloturista.

Así, hoteles, operadores y oferentes especializados podrán ir incorporando sus productos y servicios a la SITE de forma que el cicloturista tenga en una única web todo lo necesario para planificar y disfrutar su viaje a Mallorca.

Cycling Meeting, un congreso responsable
A diferencia de la mayoría de congresos en el mundo, Cycling Meeting ofrece sus conferencias a un precio simbólico con un doble objetivo: facilitar el acceso a todos los públicos y contribuir a la continuidad del proyecto:

SOBRE CYCLING MEETING

6 y 7 de febrero

CYCLING MEETING – Mallorca International Cycling Congress es el primer encuentro internacional en el mundo que aborda el ciclismo desde todos sus puntos de vista: técnico, médico-científico, turístico, tecnológico, social… y trata de mano de los expertos internacionales temas como la preparación de los ciclistas, el desarrollo de sus bicicletas, la organización de sus equipos, el negocio cicloturístico, la seguridad vial, la sostenibilidad en las ciudades…

Así pues, CYCLING MEETING se configura como un foro teórico-práctico e interactivo, a través del cual los participantes pueden conocer de primera mano todos los secretos que se esconden detrás del deporte de las dos ruedas, a la vez que los profesionales del sector comparten sus conocimientos y establecen relaciones entre ellos en meet-ups y pueden disfrutar de actividades preparadas por la organización.

Este congreso internacional aspira a convertirse en la reunión anual de referencia para las personas interesadas en el ciclismo del mundo entero, promoviendo valores deportivos, sociales, educativos y culturales, así como el juego limpio, la sostenibilidad, el uso de las nuevas tecnologías o el networking.

La iniciativa nace de la Red Ciclista de las Islas Baleares, una entidad sin ánimo de lucro que ha abierto diferentes líneas de financiación (micromecenazgo y patrocinios) con el objetivo de alcanzar los niveles de calidad deseados y poder asegurar su continuidad. La iniciativa cuenta con el reconocimiento de entidades como el Govern de les Illes Balears, el Consell Insular de Mallorca, el Ajuntament de Palma, los organismos deportivos y el apoyo de múltiples colaboradores.

CYCLING MEETING nace con claras intenciones de continuidad. Las fechas elegidas lo sitúan como primer gran evento del año en materia de ciclismo a escala internacional. Debido a su proximidad con la Challenge Ciclista a Mallorca, la participación de reconocidas personalidades del pelotón internacional está asegurada.

La organización también deja la puerta abierta a instituciones, empresas o particulares que deseen incluir en el calendario de actividades paralelas de CYCLING MEETING los eventos en torno al ciclismo que organicen en esa semana, contribuyendo así a la difusión del ciclismo a toda la sociedad. El paisaje de Mallorca está surcado por calas, playas y acantilados en la costa y localidades típicamente mallorquinas en el interior, mientras que en el norte la Sierra de Tramuntana dibuja el horizonte con montañas superiores a los 1.000 metros. La isla cuenta con una red de carreteras de 1.250 kms, 675 de los cuales se extienden por tranquilas vías con una anchura media aproximada de 6,5m. Un 20% de las mismas discurre por puertos de montaña.

Durante todo el invierno, los mejores equipos ciclistas del mundo se preparan en la isla, pues en ella encuentran las condiciones idóneas para el entrenamiento. Los ciclistas profesionales que han visitado Mallorca tienen una opinión muy positiva sobre la isla, como por ejemplo Stephen Roche (ganador del Tour de Francia, el Giro de Italia y el campeonato del mundo), el cual llegó a Mallorca aconsejado por Miguel Indurain. Según Roche “Mallorca fascina, tiene una buena climatología, naturaleza que atrae y ofrece unas posibilidades inmejorables para los cicloturistas y profesionales”.

Durante los meses de diciembre a junio, equipos amateurs y miles de aficionados al ciclismo disfrutan practicando su deporte favorito en caminos comarcales llenos de gran belleza, y visitando los pequeños pueblos del interior donde confluyen la cultura y la gastronomía más auténticas.

En los últimos años Mallorca se ha convertido en uno de los paraísos ciclistas por excelencia a escala global. El gobierno, las regiones, los municipios, la comunidad turística y otros negocios se han adaptado a las necesidades de los ciclistas experimentando resultados positivos. Ahora ha llegado el momento de que Mallorca también cuente con un evento en el que se pueda compartir la experiencia acumulada y que actúe como catalizador, impulsando al sector a seguir avanzando y especializándose.

Mallorca se transformará durante la semana del CYCLING MEETING en la capital del ciclismo mundial. PALMA, UNA CIUDAD DE ENSUEÑO

La ciudad de Palma, capital de las Islas Baleares, centro económico y cultural de la isla de Mallorca está situada en la bahía de sus mismo nombre y posee un clima privilegiado todo el año (su temperatura media anual es de 17,9 ºC). La población del municipio se aproxima a los 400.000 habitantes.

“Ciutat”, como la llaman los mallorquines, posee un precioso casco antiguo amurallado, un cautivador laberinto de callejuelas, erigido sobre una antigua kasba árabe, perfecto para explorar a pie o en bicicleta. La Catedral, el Palacio de la Almudaina, la Lonja, la Plaza Mayor, el Castillo de Bellver del siglo XIV o Es Baluart (museo de arte contemporáneo) son algunos de los rincones en los que el visitante debe detenerse.
