I'm pleased to announce that the next CiM special edition to raise money for charity will be covering Polaroids and instant imaging.

This issue is to raise money for the Lower Delaware Autism Foundation, one of the early charities (started in the mid-90's) to recognise and provide support for those who have autism.

I have created a mock-up of the front page for this edition, which should be available for purchase in June 2009. There have already been many offers of images, and if you'd like to contribute an article or image, then please get in touch by emailing me at d.vickers@creativeimagemaker.co.uk

This months issue of the PDF magazine is a bit of a special edition in it's own right, largely dedicated to pinhole photography it provides you with some background to the World Wide Pinhole Photography Day. Mark Osterman is a Process Historian at George Eastman House (GEH) and currently has an exhibition showing at the Tilt Gallery, Phoenix, Arizona. The exhibition runs from March 6th - April 10th 2009. Mark is known for his work with ambrotypes, and I'm hoping to feature some of his work here on the CiM site in the near future!

It's available NOW! The special edition Glass Plate Photography book, created to raise money for charity. It is available from our storefront over at Lulu; it has 42 pages of articles, images, inspiration and information from some of the most well-known individuals in this area of photography - Denise Ross and Quinn Jacobson have both kindly written extensive articles about glass plate photography (and supplied images too), along with additional work by Bernt Løve Nielsen, Michael Waite, Jay Truman and also from the National Museum Wales and Penobscot Marine Museum. It's also printed in colour.

The chosen charity, Woodlarks, helps disabled children and adults to try out new adventures, whether it's singing around a camp fire or water-skiing! They are currently trying to raise £1.5m to upgrade the very old buildings to accomodate new facilities.

This book is available for free PDF download (130MB) as I recognise that not everyone will want to purchase it, or indeed may not be able to purchase it - but I really hope that you will support both the charity and Creative Image Maker and raise some cash. Whether you choose to download, or purchase, I do hope that you enjoy reading the book.

Just a quick post to let you know that the March edition of the CiM magazine is out now, and new articles posted on the website.

In the March edition, available for free download from the Creative Image Maker Storefront you'll find articles and portfolios from Diane Kaye and Roberto Carbajo, solarisation and lots more.

On the website at Creative Image Maker you'll find more information about what's happening at CiM, a featured image from David Lingham, and you can find out how I got on with fixing the pneumatic shutter on my Pony Premo #4. Plus more...

The charity special will be out over the next few days and it's shaping up to be something really special... around 40 pages of articles, images, inspiration and information on glass plate photography. It will be offered as a free download, or you'll be able to purchase a colour printed edition - remember, ALL monies not due to Lulu go to charity.

This may be a little late for some of you, but I've just found out how to code in the fact that RSS is available from Creative Image Maker - in order that your web browser recognises it as having a valid feed.

Hopefully, if you now go to the site, the little RSS symbol in your browser will become active to show that you can subscribe to the feed direct from the site.

Of course, if you've already subscribed this isn't so exciting. ;-)
