As a side bonus, Jessica booked iMint Media (our buds TJ and Kim) to shoot video simultaneously alongside us. It was good to work with another pro husband and wife team. I think we benefited each other.

It was day two of Sara’s senior portraits (the one we started at the Ritz last month). We started in the historic district on Jekyll Island then headed to the water to photograph her and two friends in a canoe. So how did we shoot? From kayaks! (See the photo below I stole from one of the girl’s Facebook. That’s me in the front Kayak.)

The family brought all their own kayaks and a canoe for us to use. It was great to get out on the water again. I love families that care enough about getting good photos that they go through all that trouble to help. It made the shots to not have to shoot from land and instead be right there on the water with them.

I need to simmer down. I’m getting too excited.

Summary: Awesome family. Awesome ideas. Awesome photos. Can’t wait to post some more!

We began at driftwood beach where in addition to getting some great pictures, I laid down on sand that wasn’t as dry as I thought. Glad the camera wasn’t pointed at me after that!

We ended up in the historic district and get some great images there as well. Like this one here. Just a teaser. You’ll them all soon.

Christina and Dan had a beautiful wedding Jekyll Island. It was a destination wedding for these two from Wichita. From the first phone call to see if we were available for their date, I knew these two were going to be an awesome couple to work with.

Their wedding was under a big, old oak tree on the lawn of the Jekyll Island Club Hotel in the Historic District. It was a great scene right on the waterfront.

Like we say after all of our shoots, we had loads of fun and were so happy with the images we got. Take a look and leave us a comment.

For our fireworks viewing pleasure we headed to the beautiful Jekyll Island. (love that place!) Between the four local areas where fireworks are shot off (legally) – Jekyll is the best. It has a beach regardless of the tide and has more families.

Before leaving I rounded up a few tips from PhotoJojo on shooting fireworks so I wouldn’t go out there relying on trial and error. It helped so much considering I hadn’t shot fireworks photos before.

Here’s what we left with… including an awesome (if I do say so myself) shot of Amanda and I.

Wow. We’re stunned to see this. Likewise, Christina and Dan were the perfect couple. Easy-going, fun, loved details. It really showed everywhere from the choice of a destination wedding on Jekyll Island to the custom-made ties that Christina designed. They were a joy to work with.

While we’re talking about Facebook statuses, here’s mine from the drive home (with a stop by Waffle House) after their wedding.  

Yeah I invented a new word it was so awesome! We were excited about that night.

Now, if only the whole world knew were the best wedding photographers in the world…

So to keep from blabbing too much, here’s the quick rundown. Wedding in Brunswick. Portraits a couple weeks later on Jekyll Island. Good times. Now to some of our favorites!

We started on the beach with a few of her best friends. We didn’t have to remind them to smile one time – they were having so much fun together. Afterwards we headed to the Jekyll Island Club Hotel to take advantage of the beautiful grounds then headed back to the beach for some twilight shots.

Charity and Dustin got married at the Old City Hall which gave us our first downtown wedding. We’ve wanted to shoot a downtown wedding since forever! To top it off they rode away in a snazzy vintage Caddy where we got this shot.
