My Heart's Desire

Please join us for our Adult Small Group Bible Studies each Wednesday from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m.

Pastor's class and the Ladies class are going through the book "My Heart's Desire" by David Jeremiah, a book about Worship.

Roger Hanna will be teaching a class on the Doctrine of the Church and Baptist Distinctives.

The current session runs through January 20th. LIFE prayer night is January 27th.

"Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread"

There are many prayers that God encourages us to ask of Him. When we sin, we are to pray a prayer of confession, when we are burdened we are to ask for His grace, when we are confused, we are to ask for His direction and when we are filled with anxiety, we are to ask for His peace. These prayers and many others make sense to me. However, there is a prayer that I rarely have felt is necesary. Maybe I would even have to say I have never felt like I needed to pray it. Notice the following verse, "Give us this day our daily bread." Matthew 6:11

How about you? Has there ever been a time in your life that you were unsure where your next meal would come from? Have you ever been so desitute that your cupboards were completely bare? My guess is that even in this difficult economy that our country is currently facing, our needs are nothing like what many others are facing. There has never been a time when I had no bread to eat or at least did not have the funds to go to the store and purchase some. Also, with the incredible bounty that the United States experiences, there is always the availability of food for us to obtain. At times, I have had to pray, "give me my monthly car payment", "give me funds to cover my kids sports", or even "give me some extra cash for a Starbucks white chocolate mocha", but never "give me this day my daily bread".

This past summer, our teens went to Jamaica and did ministry at the Gravel Ground Baptist Church in Jamaica. Choice Baptist Church partners with this church to provide the MANNA Feeding Center to many children. Over the next couple of weeks, some of our teens will be sharing the impact of this missions trip. I hope you will join me each Sunday as we hear these amazing stories. I have also had the opportunity to visit this church and feeding center. Ron Bushey and I were touched by the prospects for ministry with Pastor David Lord. Though parts of Jamaica seem to be financially stable, other parts are left very destitute. Over the past several years, our church has raised $10,000 to meet the physical and spiritual needs of these families.

This year, we have another occasion to meet these needs. Will you sincerely pray and ask the Lord what He would have you and your family do in this offering?

Over the last few weeks, our AWANA ministry has raised over $500 to support two AWANA clubs on foreign fields. I also realize that the pressure is on with purchasing Christmas presents for friends and family. However, I also know that the "Choice" family has always demonstrated an incredible spirit of generosity. As we take the Journey from Humbug to Hallelujah, prayerfully consider the spiritual impact that God is making in your life and pray about making a sacrificial gift to the MANNA Feeding Center in Jamaica. Day of Prayer

This Saturday, June 6, is our IMPACT Campaign’s Day of Prayer.

Please email the church office any prayer requests that you would like to share for this day. Many people will be praying for you.

We hope you will also plan on participating. You can pray at home or come to the church from 11 am - Noon, 3 pm – 4 pm or 7 pm – 8 pm.

There will be prayer leaders here during those times to facilitate the prayer time.
