We've promised/threatened to launch a monthly podcast for some time
now but always felt at a disadvantage because we simply didn't know
how to do one. That kind of "can't do" attitude was pretty shite
though at the end of the day, so we knuckled down and decided to
record ourselves talking mince and to hell with the consequences.

We know that's the kind of fearless lack of convention you've come to
expect from mavericks like us and only hope that the subsequent fame
this series brings us doesn't impinge too heavily on our private
lives. So without further ado and the barest minimum of fanfare, we
bring you Chemikal Underground's broadcasting debut, a voyage of
discovery on a life raft of inexperience: The Podsketch.

Size, if the optimists among us are to be believed, is not everything. So in an attempt to alleviate the chronic brain-ache of podcast listeners with short attention spans or, more diplomatically, those who don’t have as much time on their hands as we do, here is our third Pod Sketch™: trimmed down to an easily digestible 10 minutes and featuring the following...

• Chat by Chemikal Underground’s Stewart Henderson and Alun Woodward.
• Exclusive preview of ‘Even Jesus Couldn’t Love You’ by Lord Cut Glass.
• Exclusive acoustic version of ‘Monster Face’ by Lord Cut Glass.
• Lord Cut Glass also happens to be Alun Woodward from Chemikal Underground – he’s also Lord Cut Glass.
• Stewart Henderson is not Lord Cut Glass but does run Chemikal Underground with Alun Woodward who is, in fact, Lord Cut Glass.
• Who’s on first?

Track Listing
1. “Even Jesus Couldn’t Love You” by Lord Cut Glass.
2. “Monster Face” (Acoustic Version) by Lord Cut Glass.

Chemikal Underground Records from the City of Glasgow
April 2009
www.chemikal.co.uk

Clawing furrows into the shag pile of the space/time continuum, Chemikal Underground is dragged, kicking and screaming, into the early 21st century to satiate the appetite of an internet-obsessed populace for downloadable audio. Not to imply that this Pod Sketch™ is a public service provision mind you: essentially it’s two guys from Glasgow talking pish and playing music – which is fine, because everyone talks pish and plays music - we just happen to be recording it, which explains the nervous laughter and fusillade of ums, emms, ‘likes’ and arrhs...

Giving too much background on this particular broadcast would be an exercise in futility and boredom, so let’s break it down to the important stuff shall we...

• This Pod Sketch™ was brought to you by Chemikal Underground’s Alun Woodward and Stewart Henderson from Glasgow’s leafy east end hamlet of Bridgeton.
• Its special guest star was Aidan Moffat.
• Paul Savage has never sung in his life. Ever. Even as a child. His level of self-consciousness is such that if anyone were to try and goad him into singing he would probably lash out in fear and anger.
• This Pod Sketch™ will get better. Much better. You’re bearing witness to the birth of history.
