According to Ian Rapoport, the former Packers linebacker is scheduled to travel to Kansas City on Wednesday.

After Desmond Bishop himself acknowledged that he would be visiting the Minnesota Vikings on Tuesday, he’s making his way Wednesday to Kansas City for a meeting with the Chiefs.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network…

Along with the #Vikings today, ex-Packers LB Desmond Bishop is set to visit with the #Chiefs Thursday. He’ll arrive Wednesday

— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) June 18, 2013

For what it’s worth, Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier declined to confirm Bishop’s visit, telling the Associated Press and other reporters, “I wouldn’t want to verify any reports.”

Regardless, the visit more than likely took place, Frazier just doesn’t feel it’s in his or the team’s best interests in commenting on it.

As happens so frequently when it comes to free agents, a situation could arise where the Vikings don’t allow Bishop to leave Minnesota.

It makes sense that Bishop would want to remain in the NFC North where he would be seeing familiar opponents twice a year, including the Packers. But of course, money will be the determining factor.

If Rapoport’s report is accurate, there shouldn’t be much news on the Bishop front on Wednesday as it’s only a travel day for him. The meeting itself with the Chiefs isn’t scheduled until Thursday.

Elsewhere in items related to the Packers, linebacker A.J. Hawk continues taking part in the NFL’s Broadcast Boot Camp where he’s learning the business of football broadcasting. The program lasts through Thursday at NFL Films headquarters in Mt. Laurel, N.J.

Several Packers-related youth camps are also in the midst of their programs.

The Gilbert Brown All Star Football Camp is taking place at West Bend High School in West Bend, Wis. and the official youth football camps of the Green Bay Packers have two camps ongoing in both Madison and Mequon, Wis. this week.

It's notable that the Packers starting quarterback has given this pair of undrafted rookies such high praise not once, but twice, this offseason.

For the second time in roughly a week, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers gave an endorsement to a pair of undrafted rookie wide receivers, Tyrone Walker and Myles White.

The first such comments came from Rodgers on the final day of media availability during the team’s offseason program last Tuesday.

Referencing the pair of rookies the Packers selected in the seventh round of this past April’s draft, Charles Johnson and Kevin Dorsey––both of whom have missed the overwhelming majority of the team’s offseason practices––Rodgers gave his unsolicited thoughts (as far as not being asked about any one particular player) on Walker and White.

“The young receivers, it’s frustrating, I know, for them to be injured,” said Rodgers. “But you’ve got to give credit to the guys who have been out there and have been playing. I think you’ve seen some good plays from Myles and Tyrone. I think they’ve stepped up and (they’re) getting their opportunities.

“But it’s going to be wide open once you get to training camp. We usually keep five receivers, and I think the top three are pretty set in stone, and there’s a lot of guys fighting for those other two spots. It should be interesting to see who comes out in training camp.”

The second instance of Rodgers’ seal of approval came during an exclusive interview the quarterback granted ESPNMilwaukee.com, published on Monday.

Rodgers offered in-depth commentary:

I think two guys who have benefitted maybe the most from this spring are (undrafted rookie wide receivers) Myles White and Tyrone Walker. I think both those guys have made a lot of plays for us. And with our two seventh-round picks at wide receiver (Kevin Dorsey and Charles Johnson) missing most of the OTAs, those guys have stepped up and done some great things. Tyrone reminds me of Antonio Chatman, who not many people know I actually played with. But Deuce had very similar size and agility but he was a good route runner, very good in and out of his breaks. And I see that with Walker. I think he has very good hands, he’s a good route runner and I think he has a chance to be a good player in this league. Myles is very shifty, he has very good releases, and mentally, he’s getting closer. He has a strong hunger to be good in this league and he’s very self-motivated, and that’s very important. Those guys benefit from an incredible position coach in Edgar Bennett, who harps on them about fundamentals and details and he’s got three of the best examples of what it looks like every day in that room in Cobby, Jones and Nelson. I tell those young guys all the time, “Watch the older guy in your group and see how he does things. That’s what I did when I was a young player. Watch the older guy in your group, and pick out the things that he does well that you don’t do yet and try to incorporate those in your game. And look at the things that maybe you don’t like or you don’t understand and question those and figure out why they’re doing them. And then either incorporate that in your game or do it a little differently.” But when you’ve got really good examples like Myles and Tyrone do in their room, there’s no reason they shouldn’t make big leaps this fall and have a chance to make the team.

Whether the depth chart at wide receiver is starting to take shape remains to be seen. Without question, it’s the coaches’ decision who will receive playing time and who won’t, but it certainly doesn’t hurt to have the confidence of the person who’s in charge of distributing the football in the Packers offense.

White was reportedly signed by the Packers immediately after the NFL Draft concluded. He’s a product of Louisiana Tech, listed as 6-0 and 182 lbs., and had 56 receptions for 718 yards and six touchdowns his senior season in which Tech led the nation in total offense, scoring offense and was third in the nation in passing offense.

Before enrolling at Louisiana Tech for his final two years of eligibility, White began his college career at Michigan State where he got into a large brawl with several other football players and eventually pled guilty to misdemeanor assault. After that, he transfered to Northwest Mississippi Community College for one year.

Meanwhile, Walker was signed to the Packers roster as one of five players who took part in the team’s post-draft rookie orientation camp back in May.

Listed at 5-10, 191 lbs., Walker ended his career as Illinois State’s all-time leader in receptions (250), receiving yards (3,565), receiving touchdowns (32) and 100-yard receiving games (16).

Following Walker’s senior season, he earned first-team All-Missouri Valley Football Conference honors in after leading the conference in receptions (90), receiving yards (1,319) and touchdown receptions (nine). Walker was a college teammate of quarterback Matt Brown, who was also signed by the Packers.

What Rodgers’ comments might mean for Johnson and Dorsey are open to interpretation. While neither took part in offseason practice to any significant extent, missing training camp––when pads come on––would hinder their development far more.

It’s been head coach Mike McCarthy’s policy not to comment on any player’s injury status during the voluntary workout portion of the offseason, so the type and extent of ailments to Johnson and Dorsey have gone unreported.

If both are able to return in time for the start of training camp on July 26 and be full participants, it’s likely they will have not fallen far behind the curve.

For a team that’s lost both Greg Jennings and Donald Driver this offseason, however, the depth at wide receiver is a position worth watching. Considering Jermichael Finley and James Jones are both scheduled to become free agents after the current season, the depth has the potential to be tested even further in the future.

A recent study from the American Journal of Orthopedics paints an uncertain picture for the return of former Packers linebacker Desmond Bishop.

A recent study from the American Journal of Orthopedics paints an uncertain picture for the return of Desmond Bishop from a ruptured hamstring tendon suffered last August.

Bishop, 28, was released by the Green Bay Packers Monday in a move cited for both medical reasons and numbers at the position. The former starting inside linebacker had been unable to participate in any of the Packers offseason workouts, including OTAs and mandatory minicamps, and the Packers also re-signed Brad Jones to a three-year, $11.75 million deal in March.

However, the recent history of ruptured hamstrings (where the tendon is torn off the pelvic bone and must be surgically reattached) in the NFL offers no clear answer on what kind of player Bishop will be now or long-term.

The June 2013 study from the American Journal of Orthopedics looked at 10 confirmed cases of ruptured hamstrings in the NFL from 1990 to 2008.

While nine of the 10 players in the study returned to play the next season, only five of the 10 played more than one game following the injury.

In addition, two of the 10 players returned and had major injuries occur to the same leg. One suffered a torn Achilles tendon and another re-ruptured the same hamstring (the player was a linebacker). On this note, it is worth noting that Bishop has already been dealing with a strain in the same hamstring he injured in August.

In its conclusion, the study found hamstring ruptures to be more rare and severe than typical hamstring injuries, such as a strain of the muscle fibers. It also concluded that the low long-term success percentage was indicative of the injury being a “marker for elite-level physical deterioration.”

This information may make it more clear for why the Packers were so willing to release a former starter in June, and why the team jumped on giving Jones starter’s money during free agency.

Keep in mind, the Packers would be on the hook for all $3.464 million of Bishop’s 2012 base salary if he would have re-injured the hamstring. Instead of risking that financial commitment, the Packers decided to start life with Jones and A.J. Hawk in the middle of their 3-4 defense now instead of later.

Uncertainty is high regarding Bishop’s return from a very severe hamstring injury. The Packers obviously didn’t feel it necessary to roll the dice and risk a re-injury.

The recently released Packers linebacker will be meeting with team now headed by former Packers executive John Dorsey on Wednesday.

As reported by Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network…

Along with the #Vikings today, ex-Packers LB Desmond Bishop is set to visit with the #Chiefs Thursday. He’ll arrive Wednesday

— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) June 18, 2013

Obviously there’s a connection between new Chiefs general manager John Dorsey, who used to be a front office executive in Green Bay, and the recently released inside linebacker.

The Chiefs are seeking a counterpart to Pro Bowl inside linebacker Derrick Johnson as a starter at inside linebacker in their 3-4 defensive scheme. Internal options free agent signee Akeem Jordan and rookie Nico Johnson, but neither are surefire solid starters, or at least they have yet to prove they are.

Of course, a lot still depends on the health of Bishop who is coming off a torn hamstring and tendon, which forced him to miss the entire 2012 season. There also may be competition from the Vikings, and perhaps other NFL teams, for his services.

Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre has joined the board of directors for Sqor, a new social media website connecting fans and athletes, the company announced Monday.

“Brett Favre is someone who understands innovation, audience and competing to win. Brett’s appreciation of the needs of professional athletes and the relationship between the athlete and the fan are what makes Brett’s involvement with Sqor so valuable,” said Sqor CEO Brian Wilhite.

As someone who’s social media use on Twitter has been sporadic and could not be described as organic, it perhaps comes as a surprise that Favre would invest his time into such a venture.

Perhaps Favre’s venture into social media is his newest attempt in what appears to be a campaign at reconciliation with the Green Bay Packers organization and its fan base.

From appearing at the NFL Honors awards show with Aaron Rodgers to taking responsibility for events than transpired in 2008 that led to his eventual trade to the New York Jets during a recent radio interview, Favre has been making headlines lately, which likely has been no accident.

“When I first met Brian Wilhite and the team behind Sqor, I was impressed by what they were setting out to do. The success to date has been awesome, and I think the sky is the limit with Sqor. I am excited to be joining the Board of Directors and looking forward to contributing in any way that I can to help the company succeed,” said Favre.

One day after being released by the Packers, Bishop is already looking for a new team. That and more in today's Daily Links...

News coming in the wake of Desmond Bishop’s release by the Green Bay Packers on Monday is that other teams are interested in the linebacker coming off a torn hamstring and tendon last season. “In a phone interview after his release was announced by the team, Bishop said the Packers never talked with him about the idea of returning under a restructured contract, and that he will visit the team’s NFC North division rival, the Minnesota Vikings, on Tuesday,” reports Jason Wilde of ESPNMilwaukee.com. “Because he’s a vested veteran, Bishop is not subject to the waiver wire and can sign with any team immediately.” It’s interesting to think that Bishop could possibly be joining Greg Jennings as the latest member of the Packers to join the Vikings, a list that also includes notable players such as Brett Favre, Darren Sharper and Ryan Longwell too. The rivalry will only grow if that’s the case.

More on Desmond Bishop visiting the Vikings comes from the Green Bay Press-Gazette, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Fox Sports Wisconsin, Packer Report, AllGreenBayPackers.com, PackersNews.com, Fox 11 and 1500ESPN.com in the Twin Cities.

Arrowhead Pride speculates if Desmond Bishop could be a target of the Kansas City Chiefs where there’s the John Dorsey connection.

ESPN.com has a pair of blog posts on the financial considerations that led to Bishop’s release and more on his health concerns.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers gave a wide-ranging exclusive interview to Jason Wilde of ESPNMilwaukee.com, published on Monday. Rodgers talks about Brett Favre, his newly-signed contract, his friend Ryan Braun and plenty of other topics, among them, Greg Jennings and some back-and-forth banter. “I think sometimes, as I’ve found out, humor doesn’t always come through a text message or a Tweet or an interview at times,” Rodgers is quoted as saying. “I think it’s hard, unless somebody puts a note in there about it being said in a joking way, it’s hard to have humor come through a story. I have a lot of respect for Greg, and we had a lot of great times together, made a lot of plays. He had three really huge catches in the Super Bowl and a lot of wins here. So I know there’s a lot of mutual respect and I don’t take an umbrage from anything he said.” Read the entire interview. Rodgers addresses almost everything and anything you could possibly desire.

As a former teammate to Donald Driver and a guy that would defend him in practice, Davon House commented to JSOnline that Driver still has gas left in his tank. “Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah,” House is quoted as saying by reporter Tyler Dunne. “Money isn’t an issue with him anymore. He probably would rather play more than just sit around and get two snaps here and there.” Driver says he’ll only play for the Packers, but it will be interesting to see if any other NFL team could possibly coax him out of retirement.

More on Donald Driver comes from ESPN.com and Lombardi Ave.

The Packers running backs get a preview and a look at the depth chart over at Packer Report.

Offensive lineman Marshall Newhouse is named the 22nd most important Packer of 2013 over at FoxSportsWisconsin.com.

The Packers official website takes a look at several key issues.

A position profile on the inside linebackers comes from Lombardi Ave.

AllGreenBayPackers.com prematurely asks if Aaron Rodgers is getting too old for the Packers.

The Packers' rookie class has meetings scheduled this week with Rob Davis, the team's director of player development.

While the offseason program has come to a close and veterans are free to leave Green Bay until the start of training camp, the rookies will will remain at Packers headquarters for the remainder of this week.

According to head coach Mike McCarthy, the team has them on a plan that will keep their schedules full each day.

“The rookies will be here for another week,” said McCarthy at his most recent press conference last Tuesday. “We have a strength and conditioning plan for our rookie class, and then there’s also time allotted each day for Rob Davis, our director of player development, he has some programs that our rookie class will go through throughout the week. And then they have the Symposium at the end of the week.”

A lot of the things Davis will meet with the rookies about are orientation-related that don’t necessarily have to do with football. They’ll might be learning about how to handle their business off the field or how to interact with the media, just for a small sample of potential topics.

The NFL’s annual Rookie Symposium begins on Sunday, the annual event where every newly drafted player from each NFL team attends. It will be a natural extension of the Packers’ program in which the rookies learn to deal with off-field issues.

Out in Mount Laurel, N.J., the NFL’s annual Broadcast Bootcamp continues, where Packers linebacker A.J. Hawk is in attendance. He’ll remain there through Thursday learning about the football broadcast industry.

Also starting on Tuesday is Gilbert Brown’s All Star Football Camp at West Bend High School in West Bend, Wis. for children in first through eighth grade, hosted by the former Packers defensive lineman.

Brown provides children with an environment that fosters skills such as teamwork, discipline, responsibility, respect, family values, hard work and fun.

Registration for the West Bend Camp at Brown’s football camp website has been disabled (perhaps because they’re full), but more information on other camps being held in the future in Madison and Oconomowoc can be found online.

According to a report from Ty Dunne, the Green Bay Packers will release inside linebacker Desmond Bishop on Monday.

The Green Bay Packers will officially release inside linebacker Desmond Bishop on Monday, according to Ty Dunne of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

The #Packers will officially release ILB Desmond Bishop today, according to a source. More coming.

— Tyler Dunne (@TyDunne) June 17, 2013

Dunne’s report comes on the heels of last week’s discovery that the Packers would part ways with Bishop if a trade or contract restructure couldn’t be had. It appears the Packers found no success on either front.

Bishop, who turns 29 in July, is coming off a ruptured hamstring that cost him the entire 2012 season. Lacking medical clearance, Bishop hasn’t participated in any of the Packers offseason workouts, including mandatory minicamps.

When healthy, Bishop was the Packers starting inside linebacker from 2009-2011. However, his injury opened the door for Brad Jones, who moved inside and secured a three-year, $11.75 million deal this offseason. He’ll now be expected to start alongside A.J. Hawk in the Packers base defense.

General manager Ted Thompson has now discarded both Bishop and D.J. Smith, who each suffered a season-ending injury last season.

Behind Jones and Hawk will now be veteran Robert Francois, 2012 fifth-round pick Terrell Manning, Jamari Lattimore and 2013 seventh-rounder Sam Barrington.

So much fun, so many memories & friendships forged in Green Bay. Ups & downs, wins & losses! Even a XLV championship. Forever grateful #Pack

— Desmond Bishop (@Desbishop55) June 17, 2013

It was unofficially Donald Driver Weekend in Wisconsin when the recently retired wide receiver came to Green Bay for a street naming and statue unveiling on Saturday and then his namesake charity softball game on Sunday. With a sold-out crowd of over 9,000 reportedly in attendance, Driver’s popularity remains high.

The Packers running back is coming off a surgery that removed a cyst from his lung this offseason. That and more in today's Daily Links...

Taking part in Sunday’s Donald Driver Celebrity Softball Game, Packers running back DuJuan Harris told Tyler Dunne of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that he plans on being ready for the start of training camp in late July after having a cyst from his lung during the offseason. “Yeah, you always have to have that mind-set to come in and just want to make the team,” Harris said, elaborating. “Everybody wants to make the team. But the team makes decisions for our own good, to try to make the Super Bowl so let’s just run with it. We’re all on the team so we’re all going to work together. Whatever happens after that happens. The main thing we can do is work together and give it our all.” With the addition of two rookie draft choices at running back, it will be a crowded position in Green Bay.

Recently retired wide receiver Donald Driver acknowledged on Sunday at his namesake softball game that he’s received interest from other NFL teams but maintained he’s not interested in playing for any team other than the Packers. “Teams have called and asked would I want to come out (of retirement),” Driver is quoted as saying by Bill Huber of Packer Report. “Nope, I love the green and gold. If the Packers called and asked, ‘Drive, come back to training camp,’ I’ll be back in training camp. Until then, I’ll be sitting at home and just watching football.” With a sold-out crowd coming to see Driver on Sunday as confirmation, Driver is making the right choice to retire as a member of the Packers and going out on his own terms.

More on Donald Driver comes from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Fox Sports Wisconsin, Green Bay Press-Gazette and Associated Press.

Also while in attendance at the Driver softball game, cornerback Davon House took a moment to discuss coming back from last year’s shoulder troubles. “To me, if you think I did good last year then you have a whole other thing coming,” House is quoted as saying at JSOnline. “I won’t have this harness on so it won’t slow me down. So what you saw in the preseason, Week One, there’s going to be a lot of that.” House also said he plans on playing without the harness he had to wear on his shoulder last year. After not practicing during the team’s offseason program, there’s a lot to prove for House in training camp this year.

The Packers linebacker will be at NFL Films headquarters in Mt. Laurel, N.J. this week for the league's seventh annual such event.

With the Green Bay Packers’ offseason program coming to a close last Friday, linebacker A.J. Hawk is free this week to travel to NFL Films headquarters in Mt. Laurel, N.J. for the seventh annual NFL Broadcast Boot Camp.

The four-day, hands-on seminar and training begins today and lasts through Thursday for Hawk.

“This boot camp is more than an introduction to the many facets of the sports broadcasting industry,” said Troy Vincent, senior vice president of NFL Player Engagement. “It is a hands-on, demanding course for current and former players who seek a career in broadcasting after their NFL playing experience. Nearly 40% of the players who participated in past camps have earned broadcasting jobs.”

Broadcasters from the league’s broadcast partners such as CBS, ESPN, FOX, NBC, NFL Network will act as instructors for 24 current and former NFL players taking part, which also includes former Packers linebacker Na’il Diggs.

Curriculum will include hands-on work in areas such as tape study, editing, show preparation, radio production, control room operation, studio preparation,
production meetings, field reporting and game preparation. Each player will tape segments as a studio and game analyst and take part in a networking session with television executives.

Hawk will also serve as a live guest host on SiriusXM’s NFL Radio at an unpublished date and time at some point this week.

In addition, players from this year’s NFL Broadcast Boot Camp class will have the opportunity to earn a guest hosting spot on one of the league’s United Kingdom broadcasting partners during the 2013 season.

Last season former Packers offensive lineman Mark Tauscher, along with Troy Brown, were selected to serve as studio analysts for an NFL regular-season Sunday on Sky Sports in the U.K.

Retired receiver Donald Driver did not rule out a potential return to the Green Bay Packers next season.

Donald Driver decided in late January to retire from football after 14 professional seasons, but the 38-year-old receiver hasn’t ruled out a comeback to the Green Bay Packers next season should his former team come calling.

“I think the thing for me is if the Packers call midseason, I’d be in shape,” Driver said at his annual charity softball game, via Tyler Dunne of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. “I’ve been staying in shape.”

For what it’s worth…Driver: “I think the thing for me is if the Packers call midseason, I’d be in shape. I’ve been staying in shape.”

— Tyler Dunne (@TyDunne) June 16, 2013

Driver, a former seventh-round pick who holds franchise records for receptions and receiving yards, played 39 games over the last two seasons but caught just 45 passes. He hauled in only eight passes in 2012, his lowest one-year total since his rookie season in 1999.

An impending free agent this spring, Driver decided to retire instead of attempting to play another season in Green Bay or signing a deal elsewhere. The Minnesota Vikings were reported to have preliminary interest, but Driver remained hesitant about playing in a different uniform to end his career.

Injuries would have to hit Green Bay hard next season for Driver to have a legitimate chance of receiving a call from general manager Ted Thompson.

James Jones, Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb return to form the team’s top three receivers, with Jarrett Boykin, Jeremy Ross and seventh-rounders Charles Johnson and Kevin Dorsey highlighting a crowded group of young options capable of holding down the No. 4 and 5 spots on the depth chart. Overall, the Packers have 12 receivers on their current 90-man roster.

With experience in Mike McCarthy’s offense and the Packers locker room, Driver would present a potential answer should a rash of injuries strike midseason.

However, it’s worth noting that Boykin played over Driver during a number of occasions to end 2012. He was also inactive for both the regular-season finale and Wild Card matchup with the Minnesota Vikings, before not playing an offensive snap against the San Francisco 49ers in his final NFL game.

In a contract year, Driver was all but phased out of the Packers offensive plans.

While the fan favorite has long said he wanted to play until he was 40 years old, and he remained adamant before retiring that he thought he could still play, it remains unlikely that Driver will play again in Green Bay.

The recently retired Packers wide receiver hosts the sold-out event for a sixth consecutive year at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton.

Happy Father’s Day to all, and especially those who may be attending the annual Donald Driver Celebrity Softball Game on Sunday at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton.

One day after having a street named in his honor and a statue unveiled in his likeness in Green Bay, the recently retired Packers wide receiver is hosting the charity event for a sixth consecutive year, taking over from from former Packers quarterback Brett Favre.

The game raises money for the Donald Driver Foundation. Donald and Betina Driver started the foundation to help homeless families, to support health and wellness initiatives, and to improve educational opportunities for disadvantaged youth in Wisconsin and nationally.

Typically, the event includes a sponsor softball game, a home run derby and then the featured game between members of the offense and the defense.

For the first time this year, Driver has invited former players of the Packers to be part of the game, fullback William Henderson, running back Ahman Green and defensive lineman Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila among them.

Also, first and second round draft choices of the 2013 NFL Draft, Datone Jones and Eddie Lacy, have been announced as being part of the roster as well.

The event is sold out, although tickets may be available on the secondary market.

The recently retired Packers wide receiver will be in attendance at Titletown Brewing Co. in Green Bay at 2:30 p.m. CT in an event open to the public.

It might be the offseason, but it just so happens to be a very busy Saturday with lots of Packers-related events in the Green Bay area this weekend.

In advance of Sunday’s celebrity softball game, recently retired wide receiver Donald Driver will return to Green Bay on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Titletown Brewing Co. on the corner of Pearl and Dousman Streets.

Driver will be there for the unveiling and dedication of a street named after him and the refurbished 20-foot statue standing painted in the receiver’s likeness outside the brewery and restaurant, an event that is free and open to the public.

“It’s crazy to think,” Driver said. “I went from living on the street as a kid to now having my own street.”

After the unveiling, The Noble Bros band will provide musical entertainment, performing a special lyric written for Driver.

Then from 2:00 to 10:00 p.m. at the Stadium View Grill and Bar in Green Bay, former Packers fullback William Henderson will act as host of the second annual Ultimate Packers Fan Connection.

The event is free and open to the public, though raffle tickets will be sold to benefit the Kiwanis organization and their efforts supporting children with autism.

Current and former players scheduled to appear include Chris Jacke, Fuzzy Thurston, Willie Davis, Randall Cobb, DuJuan Harris, Mason Crosby and Frank Winters.

The event is intended for fans to obtain autographs and pictures, socialize and will also include music and an auction.

For the younger crowd, the Packers and the NFL are sponsoring a free two-day High School Development Camp starting on Saturday from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Don Hutson Center.

Camps are open to all players entering grades 9-12 for the 2013-14 school year, and will focus on character development and specific football-skills training by position. Participants will develop awareness of some of the necessary skills needed to become a successful collegiate student-athlete.

Each participant receives an HSPD Student Planner, NCAA initial-eligibility requirements, SAT/ACT informational materials and time-management instruction.

Students will need to have the required forms filled out ahead of time and also bring necessary equipment to the camp. More information can be found online here.

Finally on Saturday evening, Packers radio broadcasters Wayne Larrivee and Larry McCarren will be raising funds for Habitat for Humanity at the Home Sweet Home Gala hosted by the River Club in Mequon, Wis. from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m.

The event includes dinner, auctions and a program led by the Packers radio voices.

Tickets for the event are $100 and can be purchased online at the website of the Ozaukee County Chapter of Habitat for Humanity.

Former Packers front office executive and current Chiefs general manager John Dorsey made some roster moves with Wisconsin ties on Friday.

Lane played his high school football Iola-Scandinavia High School in Wisconsin before playing the past three seasons with the Jaguars.

To make room for Lane, they cut Muir, a member of the Packers in 2007 and again spent time on their offseason roster in 2012.
