Your website is your shop window, everything about it tells your potential customer something about you.

You only have to think about the good and bad websites that you have come across, and whether or not they enticed you into doing business with that company.

Any small business should have a website, what the business owner should think about however is what is its purpose.

Is the website there to take orders and payments from customers or do you want the website to act as an online advert?

To be able to achieve the required results this information must be passed on to the the web designer, he/she will then be able to design the website accordingly.

Ever so often small businesses will buy a website without imparting this information, they will then be disappointed with the results. Unfortunately there are also lots of webdesign companies out there that are willing to just take the money and not come up with the goods. How many times have you as a business owner been cold called by someone trying to sell you something that you didn’t really want, or when you get it, it does not live up to expectations.

A good website is clear and up to date, it tells your customers what they need to know, guides them quickly and easily through the product range, makes it safe and secure for them to submit any payment, and provides contact details for questions and queries.

Doing business via the Internet is very much about building confidence and trust, your site should inspire both.

If done well, a website can provide a significant boost to sales. It can enlarge your potential market while keeping overheads down.

If used to its full potential, it is a perfect way to build networks and relationships with your customers.

You need to think about how your customers are going to find your website, will it bee by seeing your website address on your stationary, from your adverts, from the signs on your vehicles or from the search engines online?

Either way, the most important thing from a good website is to keep it alive and updated, constantly adding to the content. This is brings more interest from the search engines, and helps build that confidence that you want to inspire in your customers.

Yes, you definately do!

But then I would say that, I am in business to create websites. Well actually I wholeheartidly believe that it is essential for any sole trader to have a company website.
You may not intend it as an advertising platform, but don’t underestimate the amount of people using the Internet these days.

Imagine this, the potential customer has looked in the local paper, and has come across 2 adverts, now most trade adverts are similar, so nothing there to convince them to pick you, oh hang on, your advert has a website address, and your e-mail address is a proper one not a yahoo account.

The potential customer, turns the computer on and hey presto they have a professionally designed website in front of them, they click on a page, they can see pictures of previous work, they can see recommendations. They can even see what trade organisations you belong to. This all builds confidence and helps them decide who to ring.

Do you still wonder if you need website ?

If you would like more information, or would like to chat about the options, please contact me;

Website design is very much a subjective subject. Ask people what they like about websites, and you get many many answers.
Here at CES webdesign, we take an adaptive approach, by this I mean that we change our design approach to meet the requirements of the client.
For example if you look at our website we have gone for the bright white plain design. We could have filled the entire site with a whole plethora of gadgets and whizzy things to show off what we can do, revolving things, videos, music, changing colours, the works.
However, we think that it would detract from the message that we wanted to put across, that we understand what a website should be to a company and what it should bring to the party.
That we know how to create great websites that contribute to the bottom line, not ones that sit dormant withering away without contributing.
So for us, less is more, our customer service however…. Well that is another subject, give us a call and find out what it is like to have a webdesign company on board that really listens, and really comes up with the goods.

E-Commerce

Here at CES WebDesign we believe that there is no better time than now to start your very own online business. Ok so we are in a bit of a recession, but historically it can be seen that business starting in this kind of environment will be in a strong position once the economy picks up.

Whether you have been made redundant, have had enough of working for someone else, or would just like another income source, an e-commerce site could be just what you needed.
It is completely scalable from selling one item, all the way up to multiple thousands of items.

One person who has just made the jump is Anna Fletcher of Urban Ice www.urban-ice.co.uk selling fantastic fair trade jewellery. Anna has just started uploading her stock to her new e-commerce website, based in Cambridgeshire she is now able to Market her wares to the world.

With the CES WebDesign e-commerce website you have a fully featured system that is capable of handling everything you can throw at it, you can send money off coupons, manage newsletters, customers, and a whole lot more, all with one aim in mind, making you money!

We have many options available, but the most common plan for new business start ups, is the pay as you go e-commerce option. With this plan there is no upfront fee, just an affordable monthly fee that includes everything that you need to start making money online.

If you would like to know more, just drop me an e-mail.
